Title: Arrival...
Post by: @Pokemon Master Red on June 28, 2010, 08:31:13 PM
A hole in the fabric of space appeared, which grew, and grew, and grew. All in all, it lasted around three or so hours. To any who might be nearby(not a lot, seeing as the planet was unoccupied), there would appear to be a small fleet behind it, of five ships:A Titan...And four Super Capitals. The hole in space grew until it was large enough for the ships to pass through, which they did. And the crew of the ships were...perplexed. The captain of the Titan looked, through the camera across the ship, at the planet. This planet was not the one they were headed for...There were too many buildings, and considering they were headed for Larsec, a frozen wasteland planet, as a test of their new teleportation device, something was definitely wrong. The supporting ships were commanded to stand by, while the captain of the titan tried to figure out what was going on. While they did this, the supporting Super Capitals did release a few squadrons of their corvettes and frigates to protect them in the case of a attack.

"Sensors are indicating a rip in the fabric of Space! Energy readings match those of a parallel universe!" A science officer on the Omega announced, the Jupiter sized Titan instantly went into high-alert. "Sorry kids, we'll continue this conversation later, Archon I suggest you keep the shield up and keep everything ready." The Commander suggested as the small fleet appeared out of the wormhole. "Fleet is launching a small number of frigates and corvettes. They appear to be for self defense." A crew-member informed the Commander as he watched the sensors.

"Try to open a channel, both video and audio." The Commander ordered as the Omega sent the request, hopefully this didn't devolve into a battle.

"Captain, they appear to be hailing us." The pilot of communications said, from within the Cyberspace of the ship. "Shall we accept the com. channel?"
"Yes...We'll want to know where we are, after all. But inform Gregory about this, he'll want to do the talking."
"Very well."

The channels were accepted, and the image of a being not dissimilar to showed up on the screen. However, the image also revealed the background to be a complex network of circuits and cables floating though a black space. The video channel was rendering the Mechera Cyberspace, as  it were. And the audio, well, it wasn't this universe's language...Except one word...
"Xlorat. Cla thon...tir toron. Lar vel, dor al tar, ger xlragor cra Aralang?"

*Rough Translation:"Good evening. We...Appear to be a bit lost. Would you know, erm, where we could find a Aralang outpost?"

As the Omega's translation Officer's began to work on the sentence the Commander looked closely at the screen. He could tell something was not quite right, and it looked as if the person on the screen wasn't organic and was in some sort of virtual-space. "Send them the basic package." The Commander ordered, although they didn't have similar languages the Omega was sending them visual images of a large amount of common items along with the word for that, hopefully that would help. "Aralangs? We know of the Aralangs but we cannot send you the coordinates until we know of your intention. We'd rather not tell their enemy where their home-world is." The Commander said.

He quickly picked up on what they were doing, and did the same with Cyber-Holographic images of their own items.
"Ah, well, I see we have a bit of a language barrier. Hopefully we'll be able to communicate in a better way, but for now this will likely do. As I had tried to say, we're kind of lost, and need to find a outpost of theirs to ask them. I wont say we're friends with them...But we're in a state of non-hostility at the time with the Aralang forces. Hmm...Perhaps you could help us learn where we are, in that case?"

"Ah, our sensors picked up energy signatures that only appear in-between parallel universes. It appears you may of accidentally crossed the boundaries the separate universes within the multiverse." The Commander replied, sending them a very complex diagram of the multiverse, along with a small animation of them crossing into this universe. "I'm surprised your fleet isn't destroyed, traveling between universes can be incredibly dangerous at times." The Commander mused.

"Paralell universe? We were supposed to be testing our new teleportation device, and were headed for our own ice planet...But another universe...Interesting...Well, I'd have to say this was one of our scientist's better screw-ups, heh. Hmm...I suppose that it would be best for us to remain here, at least for a while. Ah! Where are my manners...Im sorry, my name is Xlrti-Err, wait, you probably cant pronounce my real name. Call me by what the Aralang call me, Gregory Falzone, Emporer of the Mechera. And who are you, and what faction do you serve?"

"I'm the Commander, the military leader of the Archive. We are a private organization devoted to the protection of unique items, entities, and knowledge. Currently the most technologically advanced in the known universe." He informed as he sent some information on the Archive, nothing about their technology or their current locations. "If you wish we could find you a uninhabited world for a temporary outpost, or send you towards the Aralangs."

"Any knowledge of where we are would be helpful, it doesn't matter who its from. As for a planet, we do not yet require one, but we would appreciate any aid. Hmm...Perhaps we can help each other. If there any place we can meet, face to face?"

"In-fact there is, on the planet below." The Commander replied, sending a request to Archon to lower the shields.

"Should I?" Archon asked Rev and Gen.

Rev and Gen both looked at one another, trying to decide. How did other people get there? And for what reason? Things were things they didn't know. But on the other hand, they had Archon, and Iroku in the chances that things went wrong. Both finally nodded to Archon.

"Lowering shield, go ahead Commander. I'll have a neutral meeting place prepared." Archon announced.

"Alright, the planet below is ready. Please arrive at these coordinates." The Commander informed as he was beamed down along with various communication officers and a few troopers, arriving at somethign that resembled a meeting room.

Gregory signed off, uploaded his mind back into his body, and made his way to a Brigade-Class frigate, to be transported down to the planet's surface.
He arrived, with a small squad of bodyguards, and went out...The machine, Gregory Falzone.

"An inorganic species, ironic." The Commander murmured to himself as he remembered the discovery of the B-19 species, the Lorcar. The Commander was all decked out in his personal GR-armor, the troopers with him in their far less advanced standard GR-armor, the communications officers were unarmored, but were working on holo-PCs.

"Welcome Mr. Falzone." Archon introduced himself as he appeared in holographic form. "I'm Archon, this cities caretaker AI."

The three downstairs would now find themselves in the room, having been teleported by Archon.

Before saying anything, he went to a nearby terminal and accessed it, cords jutting out and seeking openings to it, the ends seeming to form-fit to the openings in the machine. After a few seconds, the cords came back out, snapping back in place into the holders on the mechanized being. "...Data processing complete. Um, is this the correct language? I accessed that terminal to cross-reference several databases containing language information, and registered them in my language-remembrance programs. However, I...am not sure which one I should use to properly converse. As you appear to be the AIP(('Advanced Intelligence Program'; refers to a advanced cyber intelligence that isn't organic in design, like the Mechera themselves are)) governing this city-sector, I feel it woul be befitting to ask you." Gregory said to the hologram, before looking towards the new arrivals, mumbling,"...Must be a glitch in my optics...I am certain that organics, and even mechanized, cannot have all-reflecting eyes, or they would be incapable of sight..."

Walking in late, a sphere of ground from the planet underneath the city floating above his hand, Iroku looks around the room. Spotting the Mecheran, he scoffs and shakes his head. "Abandoned nature for fake bodies. Bad, so very bad of you. Planet need enough help without machine-men and tin-man coming to make it worse. Machine-men always make things worse, tin-man not much better. Planet die if you left alone to pick what to do." He says, watching as a small sprout grows from the ball of dirt.

"Kids know little. Still just kids. Not know enough to help planet heal to goodness naturally, no stupid teck."
Title: Re: Arrival...
Post by: Orph on July 06, 2010, 04:46:37 AM
"What we plan to do is remove the entire city safely so the planet can heal itself, the Commander has agreed to provide the resources needed to do such a task. And yes Mr. Falzone, that is the correct language." Archon replied to Iroku and Gregory, Archon received the transmission before dismissing it, they were to busy to deal with others. "Actually, these kid's brains contain enough scientific knowledge to outshine an entire university full of geniuses, they just can't access the information until their mind has adapted." The Commander informed, looking at the two kids fondly. "But I understand what you're saying." The Commander said before chuckling at Gregory's observation.

"Remember Gregory, you're in an alternate universe, there will be a large number of things you wont understand.. Not yet anyway." The Commander reminded as he took off his helmet, once again revealing his scarred face. Setting the incredibly heavy item down on the table it started to bend the metal before The Commander grabbed it. "Sorry, I always forget how heavy this armor is.. Back to business Gregory, if it's needed we can supply you with the coordinates to a habitable world along with those of the Aralangs homeworld."

He focused in on the alien being who seemed to be insulting him, before focusing out."Is it customary in your culture to insult those you do not know? Or is it merely a fault in your own personality? As well, this 'stupid teck' as you call it, is merely the way of many sentient beings using the very laws of nature to better survive in different environments. Technology itself is natural, it is using science to overcome natural obstacles. When a bird uses a stick to pull a few ants from their colony to eat them, it is using a primitive form of technology to gain food. When a organic uses a fertilizer, it is using a more advanced form of technology to gain larger amounts of food to sustain not only itself, but also those around it. Perhaps you should not be so...Quick...To judge."

He then turned back to the commander and Archon."Hm, yes, I suppose that is true, this dimension is quite different...For now I suppose we shall be able to make due with the First Battalion. Its generators and reserve supply should be enough to keep us going, for a while anyways, so you dont need to make it a primary concern to find a planet. In any case, any planet shall do, whether it be a complete volcanic rock, uninhabitable waste or the such. As you can see, we do not require all too much, and are able to 'survive' almost anywhere. As for this plan...Perhaps we would be able to aid you with this. As for the Aralangs...Perhaps we should meet up with our old...'Allies'...Once more..."

Through all the arguing, Rev and Gen both stayed silent. They stood behind Iroku, as they saw him as protection, but they preferred to not speak, and instead listen and learn. Grinning when the commander complimented, and frowning when Iroku put down their tech idea to save the planet, their expressions seemed to change, at every word said.  But that was how kids learned; role-models. And for the two incarnations, even with the knowledge the Archive had given, they still lacked the basics. Deeper emotions, knowledge of people themselves in personality, motives, reactions, and everything else that made up being 'sentient.' After all, magic could only teach so much.

And as The Commander and Archon seemed to trust the Merchera, and the kids trusted Archon and The Commander, the fact the Merchera could not be read through their heart, didn't seem to bother two children as much as it usually did when they could not see the motives of others. Since their role-models trusted, they trusted.

After observing the conversation to the point the Merchera had made their decision, the two finally dared speak up.

"Why is tech bad?" Rev questioned of Iroku.

To the Mechera, however, Gen commented. "You could stay here with us if you want! I mean... if that's okay with Archon."

"Teck killed this planet. Teck destroy nature, stop race from growing. Teck go against basic laws of nature, stop evolution. Stop predator and prey. Teck warp nature, turn it into something unnatural. Insult nature, like spitting in her face." He answers, running a finger along the still-growing stem of the sprout as he turns to face the Commander. "Teck force nature to bend to our will. Nature gives us life. Nature allows us to keep living and forces us to improve naturally. Teck enslaves nature." He growls, as if the mere idea of it is unforgivable, throwing a pointed glare at the Mecheran.

"Overpopulation and overuse of technology did that to this planet, not technology itself. Technology uses the laws of science to allow the species to grow on a non-physical level, instead of merely evolving new weapons. It does not go against the laws of nature, it instead uses the laws of science that nature provides the universe with to create weapons to preserve yourself with. It does not stop predator and prey, it merely reverses the pairing, no different than a biological adaptation that allowed the predators to get to that spot in the first place. Technology itself IS natural. A biological chemical is a form of technology, as it uses chemicals to produce a poison to kill a prey or predator, and enable the wielder to survive. And I can hardly see how technology enslaves nature. If she ever chooses, she can simply undo whatever she chooses of a empire. It is not technology that does those things, but rather abusing and overusing technology." He said, not reacting to the apparent hostility towards him for their very way of life. Turning towards the children, he said,"I am honored by your other, but we have far too large a population aboard this small fleet. While we could probably all find homes on this planet and survive as such, it would be too much as if we would be stealing the planet for ourselves. Such a thing would be...Rather distasteful, I'd imagine."

"Ah, is that so? Well, then, I thank you. I shall need to get going, now, however...I will need to discuss a few things with the rest of the Mechera Government, and we will need to pay a visit to our old 'friends' soon. I hope that we may meet again, Commander of the Archive, and that we may continue being allies for a long time." Gregory said, before leaving to the small ship he took to land. The ship made its way back to the First Battalion, and after a few hours, the ship and its envoy of Divisions opened a ID-Gate, and went through. Not permenantly, but they wouldn't be back for a bit of time, and especially not to this exact planet.

After a few minutes of idly talk the Commander bid his farewells, they had repaired the City's drone system which was already setting up a Star Drive. "We'll be able to remove the City within a few hours." Archon announced, running hundreds of calculations in his head.

Iroku scowls and heads back down into the planet itself, shaking his head at the others as he plants the sapling he'd been holding onto. "Teck men never listen to shaman. Nooo, shaman never know what he talk about.Stupid tin-man, stupid robot. Teck not go against nature? Feh. Robot knows nothing. Ark-on knows nothing. Kids too young to understand. Fine. We'll teach them." He mumbles, sinking back into the surface of the actual planet once again, Koraiten looking back up towards Rev and Gen.

The two child incarnations looked at Archon when both Iroku and the Mechera had left. They looked a bit confused as they tried to absorb everything that just happened. It seemed their role-models weren't agreeing, and they couldn't figure out why.

"Iroku seems to hate tech...even though we've learned it can be used for many good things.." Gen commented.

"But, The Commander, those metal guys, and this place, they've all shown the good.. "Rev commented as well. "Yet, only Archon seems to worry about the Planet. "

"Iroku has a point of the planet. But they have a point with the tech...so who's right?" Gen asked.

"And who's wrong?" Rev asked as well. Both the children looking at Archon as they wondered in Unison.

"In a way they are both wrong, and both right. Iroku hates technology because he views it as unnatural and how it can stunt the growth of natural development. But even then technology can do wondrous things, but it can also be used for terrible things. Like the planet below suffered for years without plants or animals, or even the touch of sunlight because of technology. It's a double edged sword children, and it's always best to go with both magic and technology, that's one of the things that made the Suvian so great, they didn't limit themselves to a single thing, they grew in both areas. Technology could be found that supported magic, and Magic could be found that supported technology." Archon replied, looking the two children in their mirrored eyes. "Also in a way, I'm nothing more then Technology, I'm an artificial mind."

Iroku, growling in the dark, closes his eyes as the armor symbiote grows to cover his entire body, head to toe. His feet come together, bottoms touching as his hands fold before his chest in an arcane pose. "Korei Karentao. Noch Kensech. Terra rozess arien taroech." He chants, over and over and over again as he meditates deep within the planet, the symbiote protecting his body from the larger gravitational forces and the high pressure.

Above the City, a large portal opens up, letting a massive crystalline snake coils above, watching the city with curiosity.

"Then you're like us!" Rev and Gen both said together in excited unison. They knew from before that Archon used tech, but they didn't know he was only made of tech. This new revelation gave them something to relate to, with the being that had become their next teacher. They now had the one they could trust the most.

"We're just magic." Rev said.

"Two powerful types of magic, but still just magic." Gen added. "Though we can think."

"And we can learn."

"As well as feel, and make decisions." Gen paused for a moment after saying the word decisions. "I think... the people call it ...Free Will?"

"The magic is our being..." The two together said, once again. "But from learning what we've learned... we've become fascinated with the world around us... And if these people did as you said and showed the good of both, then maybe we can continue their legacy, and help our new found friends to get along. Iroku seemed to really hate The Commander... but The Commander helped us, and saved the planet, the thing Iroku wanted... Is there anything we can do?" The two incarnations paused to look at one another, thinking hard.

Koraiten, rising quite literally through the floor, opens his mouth to   convey Iroku's voice. "Commander offer to save planet forcefully, rather   than let planet take itself back. Most healthy choice for planet be to   let planet take city, turn city into new crust. New soil, for new life   to sprout from. Planet no just make new crust from nothing. Take city   off, planet be dead. Commander not care about that, just like he no care   about New Dragon Moon enough to find a better way. Tin-man say he sorry, but Iroku no trust person who kill whole planet to find one man."

The two incarnations looked to Koraiten and listened to Iroku's words rather intently. They nodded in agreement as they understood what he was saying, but both were right, so then what?

"But Archon's part of the city." Rev replied. "Wouldn't he die if the planet took its self back?"

"At least this way, both are saved, aren't they?" Gen asked.

Both of the children then stood silent and still for about a second, as the message from Zaned had reached them. Their expressions then grew curious as they read it, looking also partly confused.

"Third Sage War?" They inquired in unison.

"I think I remember something about a first and second in the history The Archive showed us." Gen said. "Something about magic empires going up against... technological empires. So everyone other than Iroku and The Commander also fight about such?"

"Then maybe we can get the answers there." Rev agreed. "We can find out which ones more wrong or right. Learn more about both. Find out why each one has a problem with the other."
Rev and Gen then looked at Koraiten and Archon, as if waiting for an 'okay,' before actually going.

Iroku, returning up from the planet's surface, looks at the two kids as he replays the message in his head. "Aralang cause trouble for Celly. Aralang not like when planet under feet turn to enemy." He growls, before vanishing in a flurry of wind.
Title: Re: Arrival...

With the sudden disappearance of Iroku, the two kids now knew it MUST be important. They didn't know who Aralangs or Celly were, or they did, but that information didn't sound familiar yet to them. But by the reactions, the two had managed to pickup that it was quite important.

"We'll also attend." Both said. "Thank you for everything Archon. We'll definitely return to oversee the planet being saved."
With that, both had disappeared.
