Title: [Approved]G-MAN!
Post by: Gaserlake on December 23, 2009, 08:34:43 PM
Name: Unknown; Mr. Smith.
Age: Unknown; infinite.
Race: Unknown; anomaly.
Alliance: Unknown; none.
Biography: Unknown; he came out of nowhere. You know when they say that in quantum mechanics, anything can happen for any or no reason at all, at anywhere, at any time? I'm not sure if that's true, but Mr. Smith was created from an extremely extreme case of it, if it's true, or something like it, if it's not true. He was the first to be created from this, and he made it so that nobody like him or with the same or similar power as his.
Weapons: Unknown; anomalies.
Equipment: Briefcase (damn... I thought it was a suitcase, but it's the other way around...). Anomalies.
Magic Level: Unknown; 6.
Appearance: Looks like a business man.

I thought we wanted the RP as original as possible? Yet you just ripped another character out of some other persons creation?
Title: Re: G-MAN!

ANOTHER character? This is the first and ONLY character ripped out.

ANOTHER character? This is the first and ONLY character ripped out.

Starwars Force.... Stargate.....the list goes on.
Maybe not character, but the idea. It shouldn't be allowed to take an idea directly. You used the same apperance, powers, bio..everything. I may not be an approver..but for crying out loud, get more original.

Well, it's the only character I ripped out. I was only talking about myself, not others. Also, I don't daycare. Jk. But it's still legit. I'll edit the thing.

Then change the name to like H-Boy or something.

So you can kill people by telling them about yourself?
Title: Re: G-MAN!
Post by: Gaserlake on December 24, 2009, 09:52:19 PM
Yes. If the person talks about being met by G-man, the person would inevitably die soon after. Forget about the part about people who were told about the G-man would be met by G-man. Also, I'm editing that there are more than one of him, to keep him from abusing his powers IC, as well as a reason why he won't go full out on his powers.

This guy sounds godmodish.

The death thing can easily be seen as a coincidence, though most of the Half Life community choose to not believe that. The deaths are always caused by either natural causes, or accidents like car crashes.
Title: Re: G-MAN!
Post by: Gaserlake on December 26, 2009, 12:49:04 AM
It is coincidence. The reason why is because he was told to, "Prepare for unforeseen consequences," before he told the player about the G-man.

I'm making this SEEM like a coincidence, but it can be figured out that it isn't, as g-man would visit the place the death scene would be, and during the death scene.

How is it plagiarism? Valve didn't make the name. It's a fan-made name.

Look who's talking? Back in CE, you copied the ships' names, the pictures, and the ship types, from Eve.

Still completely bullshit that they're accepted a half-assed ripped off character.

Yeah, and you aren't yelling at Hawk... You always have to go after me. Stop complaining.

Actually we've tried to get Hawk not to use the force. Hence why his newest characters have force levels of 0.

Hawk still uses a hell of a lot of stuff that are ripped off.

That's because he has the imagination of a retarded fourth grader.

You don't, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Title: Re: G-MAN!
Post by: Gaserlake on December 29, 2009, 07:22:47 PM
Originally, it's not your problem. Now, you just made it your problem. I have good imagination. Just because I have good imagination, it doesn't mean I always have to use it. What's the point? I mean, if you don't like I rip off things, then you shouldn't like the fact that we rip off the laws of science we use in real life. If I should be ashamed of myself, it's not your problem, until now.

Using something someone else made is highly lame though.

That's like the Stargate and Starwars stuff. Everyone has to copy partly, of course, because there's nothing original in the world that hasn't already been done. But to copy name, power, and such? That's going overboard. "The Force," Anyone reading that would know Starwars right away. Unless it was just, the word, "Force," used differently.
"Atlantis, Ancients, blah." Those used alone are not copying, but to use them together, anyone would think Stargate.

G-Man alone is not copying, but using the same power, and apperance. Anyone would know Half-Life automatically. Name it something else, change the apperance, power, anything. But don't let people automatically think Half-Life or it's full out copying.

I did add things that weren't added to the game. I doubt that Gman even uses magic in Half-life, even though it seems like it.

Meh. I want to add that this G-(We're sorry. In order to keep you from getting sued, we had to change the name for you. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we hope you enjoy the new name.)gangsta dude is an anomaly. It's not even an embodiment of anomaly. He's beyond that. Since he's an anomaly, he doesn't have to obey the laws of physics. Hell, he can change them if he wants (but, I would rarely do that, and only on a small scale, to keep it from being godmodding). Magic levels 1-5 would have no effect on him. Level 6 is required to affect him. Gods can only be in equal power to him, but no more.

Don't worry... he's not going around, fucking with everything. No... the only ones he has used so far in his favor so far is Gaserlake, Leserlake, and Hikaru, with Hikaru's OOC permission, of course. I would need OOC permission for his guy to affect you. It's the only way to balance this character, and yes, he's that powerful.

His identity is still unknown, but I'm retracting the bloody name. I'm going to call him Mr. Smith, because that's a common placeholder for anonymous people.

I need to rephrase... I need OOC permission only when it would be otherwise be not allowed. Like... appearing out of nowhere is one thing, but like... appearing out of nowhere in a bunch of anti- fields and distortion fields and knowing exactly where the person is, while there's a bunch of reasons why Mr. Smith wouldn't be able to do it, is another thing. With OOC permission, he would be able to do things, even though there are entities and such that would prohibit things that he does, for example, with OOC permission, he can create a portal in an AP field. Even with permission, a normal person wouldn't be able to do that. Mr. Smith is an exception to it.

No, he can't bypass shit just because you want him to be able to, he has to have a feasible and sensible IC reason.
Title: Re: G-MAN!
Post by: Gaserlake on September 13, 2010, 05:06:25 PM
He's the embodiment of anomalies. He's an anomaly. He isn't consistent with what we understand. Hell, he doesn't have to be consistent with anything. He doesn't have be consistent with death.
Title: Re: G-MAN!
Post by: Orph on September 13, 2010, 05:11:21 PM
No, I'm really not comfortable with you having an embodiment, hell, I'm not comfortable with there being anymore embodiments at all.
Title: Re: G-MAN!
Post by: Gaserlake on September 13, 2010, 05:16:46 PM
Hey. Keep your personal thoughts to yourself, for now. Sure, embodiments should only be reserved to people who can use them correctly, but you have never really seen me use it. There's always a first time before someone can prove themselves. If you aren't comfortable with people making embodiments, bring it up in the staff chat.
Title: Re: G-MAN!
Post by: Orph on September 13, 2010, 05:19:49 PM
When I say I'm not comfortable with you having an embodiment it means I don't beleive you have the necessary skill and the like to use them correctly, and embodiment is basically a powered down fucking God.
Title: Re: G-MAN!
Post by: Queen Bright on September 13, 2010, 05:20:59 PM
It's more of a singularity than an embodiment, Orph. If it was an embodiment, then okay, there's a limit. But it's not really an embodiment by the way he's described it.
Title: Re: G-MAN!
Post by: Gaserlake on September 13, 2010, 05:28:18 PM
You hardly know me...

After talking with Hikaru, I realized that embodiments are supposed to govern forces. Well, anomaly is not a force. Inconsistency or singularities aren't forces. So I guess Mr. Smith isn't an embodiment, but he's still an anomaly, and he can control and manipulate anomalies.

Fix the template, this requires an entire bio, and pretty much re-working of everything before I can even consider approving this.
