Hello everyone. The whole issue with the server's finally fixed. No one's gotten a connection error in hours. I wanted to ask you all about a problem we've run into regarding our hosting.
Bill time is coming up, and we're looking for ways to help decrease the cost of hosting. Hikaru's made a few suggestions, which I've put into the poll. The combined total is $41 a year. $30 for the actual hosting, $11 for the domain http://www.shatteredplanes.com. That bill hosts both Shattered Planes, and Hikaru's website Nod's Eden.
So, we have three distinct options, and we can combine them. We can put ads onto the board, use a Donation button, or sell Shattered Planes related merchandise like t-shirts and coffee mugs and things.
IF YOU HAVE SUGGESTIONS OTHER THAN THOSE THREE, PLEASE POST THEM HERE.

Not to mention. If we can get more than what we actually need. Let me tell you, the tech support for this host sucks. Their Knowledge Base is broke. They have bad grammar and wording on things, and don't even TRY to explain what's wrong. If something is wrong on their side, they totally believe it's your side till you practically accuse them and come close to losing patience with them. They don't even have a support forum. And... they just basically, suck. Most hosts will at least tell you when they're going to do maintenance.
But for the cost of $1-$2 a month? Hey, what can you do, it's the cheapest out there. However if we can get enough, we'd totally love to find a different host. Hostony is good or so I've been told. But $4 a month comes to a higher price. And that's just a low package. To get what we're getting here? 10GB Diskspace and 1000GB Bandwidth? Hah, most webhosts would want a fortune.

All of the above and more. I've already posted some ideas in the admin chat regarding premium accounts on this board (paying to get enhanced features). I think we should explore all avenues possible. We also should find a way to create products to sell to those who aren't part of the user-base. Something everyone off the board might want to buy.

I've been looking for a job, once I have a steady income I have no problem pitching in a few bucks here and there.
