Title: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: K2 on November 01, 2010, 01:14:40 AM

A massive rip appeared in the sky of some mysterious, dark valley. From this rip, a brilliant display of lights came, lingering there in the sky. From those lights in the sky fell the seemingly unconscious form of C2323.

Following, not so long after, Hikaru came falling as well. The position she had been in and the wings around her protected her fall, the wings opening up and catching the air, allowing her float softly down. Spinning herself around before she was completely on the ground, Hikaru turned her wings back upright and surveyed the area. Her attention just then catching sight of C2323. Where the hell were they?

Ignoring her curiosity for now and pushing it to the side, Hikaru threw her hand up and caught the staff that tumbled after her. Pointing it at the unconscious C2323, she aimed and swung it in an arc, a crescent shaped wave of Revelation-Genesis magic released at him, head-on. She was going to finish the battle. Any worry for where she was, could be addressed at a later time.

The energy collided with C2323's portal armor and would have gone through if.... If Plex had been accessible from there. Instead, the attack was broken down and used to further fuel the portal armor around C2323. That fueling of portal armor allowed C2323's body to focus less on the armor. Within moments, his nanite systems were operating to help his body repair....

A few moments later, his portal armor failed. He was no longer in dragon form. Here sat a dumb-founded C2323 who looked right up to Hikaru, his eyes wide. "Sister? Where the hell are we? I knew that this 'halloween party' thing was a setup! What have you done with Kai!?"

Hikaru had won the match... But she'd just submerged herself into an unknown realm... And now her brother's clone had lost years of memory.

Hikaru was about to strike once more and finish the job, but before she could, she paused, her hand shaking and causing grip on the staff to loosen. Dammit! Of everything that had happened between unlocking the rest of her memories and now, she still couldn't manage to kill someone?! Had this become a curse? Shaking her head and sighing in frustration, Hikaru narrowed her eyes and glared at the clueless C2323.

Quickly adding up the time he was speaking of, she concluded he had lost it. Further releasing her grip on the staff to a lighter one, she sighed once again and stepped closer to him, offering her hand out. "Come on. I haven't done anything to Kai." She replied, "He's back in.... Australia, awaiting us. There was an attack from some unknown party, and we were separated to this area. ...It would be wise to find out where we are..." Hikaru's expression softened as she explained.

C2323 smiled, taking her hand and standing. "Alright," he said, clueless. "Kai probably led them straight towards us."

Before C2323 could take a single step, he looked up and gasped. A thirteen year old girl was falling from the sky. He quickly prepared a giant bed made of giant, soft pillows to cushion her fall.

"Who the hell...?" Hikaru questioned, glancing to the girl that had fallen. She didn't seem at all familiar. Yet she had came from Hell as well? Things just weren't adding up.

The girl landed rather roughly on the bed of pillows.

"Come on," C2323 insisted, "Let's go check on her."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness

Hikaru nodded and walked towards the bed and the young girl atop it.

The young girl had formed some sort of bubble under her to cushion her fall. She looked up with young, innocent eyes like that of an angel. Those beautiful, blue eyes landed upon both C2323 and Hikaru with apprehension of the situation in its entirely. She smiled and stood before the two, bowing.

"Hi... You're C2323, and you're Hikaru. Right?"

"Um... My name's K2323."

"Uh...?" the girl was confused.

Hikaru sighed and sent a telepathic message aimed only at the girl, "He's currently lost his memory. It would be very unwise to return it to him as of now. So for now, he thinks he's my brother, K2323." Out loud, however, she only nodded. "And you are?"

From a distance, there was Mr. Smith. He made sure Hikaru would notice him, but to Hikaru, it seemed like she didn't notice he was there until just now. C2 and the other girl wouldn't be able to see him or detect him at all.
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: K2 on November 02, 2010, 09:17:16 PM
The girl merely smiled, looking upon Hikaru like she was some prized diamond. There was a long pause before finally she whispered, "Finally, I've found you... But you shouldn't be here. They're coming."

Before she could do anything, the sound of the young rallying a war call filled the dark hills... An army of about 50,000 men and women clad naked with bows and arrows appeared on the hills surrounding the three/four.

Post by: Queen Bright on November 02, 2010, 09:24:23 PM
Catching sight of Smith, Hikaru was about to react, but was stopped before she could by the girls cryptic warning and the arrival of what looked like a nudist army. Completely confounded by now, she merely blinked, and just accepted it. "...And where exactly is here and them?" Hikaru muttered in question, observing the bows and arrows distastefully. Well they sure weren't a threat, that was a given.

"In between your foolish existence and what truly exists... And they're what defends that true existence from the likes of... Us," the girl explained quickly as she went through a series of hand motions. By the end of her speech, what seemed at first like a small ball of fire left her hands. She quickly created a barrier around the three just in time...

All around the barrier, the force of an explosion hit. That explosion was from her fireball. She'd tried to wipe out the enemy.... But the three saw as the explosion came to rest that the army was still standing well alive, fighting back with shots of blue energy.

Hikaru couldn't help but scoff. "I'm not afraid of some damn primitives with sticks and bows. If they don't even have the capacity to clothe themselves. They're hardly a threat." She crossed her arms and laughed at the explosion, as well as the failure to destroy the nudists. "Anyways. Why are we here? Was it the battle? If so, how do we return, and just who the hell are you?"

"Watch your tongue, girl!" the girl hissed, "This isn't some Aralang you're speaking to! And those out there aren't Starclanners!"

Suddenly, the enemies all turned transparent -- almost blackish, like phantoms -- and began to fly at top speeds towards the barrier.

"Yes, well maybe if someone explained who the hell they are, and answered my other questions, I wouldn't have to resort to such insults. But as it stands,  right now, all I care about is getting back." Her words dripping with sarcasm, Hikaru proceeded to roll her eyes at the attack. "High and mighty or not, at this point in time, I don't see why I should care."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: K2 on November 02, 2010, 10:14:25 PM
"SHUT UP, YOU STUPID GIRL!" the girl yelled as she focused worriedly on the phantoms, the very existence around each of them seeming to warp just a little, "If they get to us, we're dead! Deader than dead! We-"

"STOP!!!"

The voice of a man echoed out throughout the land, and the phantoms all stopped in place. The male voice chuckled. "Well, Anise, you decided to pay us a visit, did you?"

Offended by now, Hikaru bit her tongue and forced herself to stay silent. She'd shut up for now, but whoever the hell they were with, would hear it PLENTY at a later time. For the moment, she instead turned her head, glancing around for the source of the voice.

"Um... Hello!?" C2323 shouted. "Can you give me directions to the nearest-?"

"Rest in peace, boy. Refuge is here," the male voice bellowed out, "I am Kouros."

Suddenly, the group was in a hot-tub where a man with a crown was relaxing in swimming trunks.

That had been more than Hikaru could take. Her clothes now soaked (because no way in Hell was she switching to a bathing suit.) Hikaru glared coldly at the man, and stormed through the water towards him. "ALRIGHT, you perverted bastard! I want answers, and I want them now!" She threw the staff that had still been in her hand, straight at his head. "Where are we?! Who are the two of you?! How do we get back?! AND JUST WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?! I don't have time for this! I have a tournament to be at! IT'S THE DAMN SEMI-FINALS!"
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: K2 on November 02, 2010, 11:31:11 PM
The man laughed as Hikaru reached a barrier which protected him automatically... The barrier zapped the very spirit of those who tried to touch him with a jolt. "I," he explained, "Am Steve. This is Anisa. You're in a realm... Well, it's hard to explain, but you're not exactly on the dimensional plane. Getting back to from where you came from may be a bit of a challenge... Um, Anisa?"

"Yeah," Anisa explained, "But don't worry. I tied Lucifer up before I came here. He'll wait on you. But about getting back... Here's the thing. I can only take one of you back. The other will have to wait for two thousand years here before they can get back."

"Looks like you have a simple choice," said a voice. It was Smith. This time, he was right up to Hikaru, yet outside of the hot tub. He was still unnoticeable by all the others. "However, the consequences aren't, especially when you're stuck in a middle of a dilemma."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 03, 2010, 01:03:16 AM
Zapped back, and shocked into surprise, Hikaru proceeded to glare at the many. He had to be lying. First he said his name was Kouros,  now he says it's Steve? Would he change it if she should ask again? Things were starting to seem suspicious...

Without a word, Hikaru turned only her eyes to Smith, "If you're insinuating that I have to kill C2323, you'll be sadly disappointed. He may not be my brother, but he's close enough to being family. With what we've gone through together, I will not. Especially now, he's lost his memory. He's harmless." After sending the message through telepathy, she sighed, then quickly added. "It wouldn't be.... right."

"Why only one of us?" Hikaru's attention had returned to the small group. "What keeps you from taking both of us back? And what happens to the one forced to stay?"

Smith smiled. "Interesting. Showing affection for... a machine," he sneered. He sounded like he saw it coming. "Well, that's ironic."

"He has a spirit. That makes him as alive as anyone else. Either we both leave, or neither of us do." Ignoring him after that, Hikaru awaited the answer to her question.

Smith nodded in thought. "Alright, then," he smirked with an ominous voice. He walked off and disappeared when he was out of her sight.

"Well," Anisa explained, "Matt, why don't you explain?"

Steve spoke up, "Sure. You see, once every two thousand years, we are allowed to send a single life -- only one -- through this realm to the next, and through the next realm to the realm you call home... untouched. Any other life which tries to go through will be... reincarnated."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 05, 2010, 05:50:39 AM
Hikaru froze. "Just what do you mean re-incarnation? Again I ask! Where the hell are we, and who the hell are you?! At this point, I have a high suspicion you're messing with us. So far you've given three names for yourself, each far different than the last. You haven't bothered to explain who you are passed just giving a name, and now you say only one of us can leave?!!" She scoffed, a growl accompanying it. "I REFUSE TO ACCEPT! I WANT REAL ANSWERS! Not just some quick explanation!"

Calming herself, Hikaru continued to assess the situation. Were they serious? Was one of them really stranded there for two-thousand years? "Well at least I would be away from that idiot and his race..." She mumbled to herself.

Gaserlake waited for the countdown to end on the pocket watch as he watched Smith go away. Strangely, Smith disappeared from Gaserlake's vision as soon as the countdown ended. He hit the pin on the pocket watch. He seemingly popped out of nowhere in the hot tub.

"Yeah, you can say that again," Gaserlake responded to Hikaru. He threw the book and the pocket watch from out of the hot tub, and leaped out of the hot tub, and shook himself dry like a dog.

OOC: ..Gaser, you just trapped your character. xD

"Hikaru. Calm down," C2323 said with a very serious face, "Listen t- AH! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?" C2323 demanded, pointing at Gaserlake.

There was complete silence for a few seconds after Gaserlake appeared, that Hikaru had to quite literally force herself from jumping back in shock, or jumping forward and strangling him. Both options were at the top of her mind as she groaned in discontent. Was this some sort of sick joke from fate?  What the hell? Just what the hell?! Now that she thought about it, Hikaru concluded, maybe they were still in Hell, maybe they both had died and were now being tortured by Lucifer. It seemed like a liable explanation.

"That! Brother." Hikaru lied through her teeth, "Is the damn party that attacked us!"

"Aha! Well, prepare to be eliminated! Do you work for Logan or something!? It's time that you be destroyed!"

C2323 hopped out of the hot tub, his Genesis Staff appearing in hand. He prepared a white ball of magic in his hands and threw it through the air towards Gaserlake.

Matt and Anisa watched, amused.
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness

Gaserlake looked at Hikaru with the 'Dude, what the fuck?' expression on his face. He turned to C2. Apparently, C2 forgot who Gaserlake was.

Gaserlake dodged the ball, stepping to the side. "I didn't attack anyone, damn it! I just came here! I used to work for Logan, but not anymore. We split up. He went his way, I went my way. Anyway, I wanted to tell you something!" He picked up Asura's book, opened it, and began to write in it that Hikaru was alive and well with C2, who seemed to have lost memory.

So, Hikaru wants to playing lying games, huh? Well, two can play at that game. At the same time, he looked at C2 and spoke. "You lost your memory. Believe it or not, K2, or rather C2, but you are a cyborg, hence why Anisa first called you C2."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 06, 2010, 11:44:27 PM
"Don't listen to him!" Hikaru shouted back. Dammit! He had told C2323 the truth. That wouldn't end well... It would probably re-start the battle up, or cause C2323 to leave, stranding her there. If he left, it'd be two-thousand years of Hell. Not that Hikaru had completely dismissed the fact it was already Hell. Especially with what was going on.  "He... He's Logan in disguise! It's all mind games! Kai enlisted his help in planning against us!"
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Gaserlake on November 06, 2010, 11:50:32 PM
Gaserlake shook his head as he neatly dropped the book and the pen aside. "See for yourself, C2. Cut yourself up. I'm not Logan. I'm in no position to lie, here. Like you, I'm stranded here, and only one could get out in two thousand years. Though, it doesn't matter who I am. It matters who YOU are. Cut yourself up, or something. Anything to expose your insides. The arm would do enough."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 06, 2010, 11:54:52 PM
"Don't!" Hikaru warned, jumping out of the hot tub as well and landing near C2323. "Kai used a spell. If you spill any blood it'll he'll obtain your half of the Genesis magic automatically, even if you're apart. The spell would then destroy you. It was a spell he obtained from..." Hikaru paused for a moment to think on that. "One of Emily's ancestors. They had some pretty dark magic books, and Kai seduced her into helping him. Honestly brother, that's why we're here." Hikaru frowned a bit. "So Kai could take over the kingdoms while his lackey here stalled us."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Gaserlake on November 07, 2010, 12:07:42 AM
"Lies! That spell doesn't exist! I would know, because I read your damn mind! I know everything you know! Besides, you can cut the blood flow before you expose the insides of your arm. Hell, just do your hand to make it easier."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 07, 2010, 12:20:19 AM
Read her mind. That's all he had to say. As soon as those words were out, Hikaru quite literally lost it, jumping forward and tackling Gaserlake to the ground, holy fire surrounding her. "I'LL KILL YOU DAMMIT!"
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Gaserlake on November 07, 2010, 12:45:56 AM
Gaserlake laughed as he was taken down to the ground. He pushed her off to the side and got back up. The holy fire was smothered out by Gaserlake's Elite Energy. "Right there, that admits that I DID read your mind. So, yes, I do have a say so on whether you're lying or not, and you did lie."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 07, 2010, 01:02:15 AM
"Grrrr." Hikaru jumped to her feat the moment she was pushed off, glaring daggers at him. Raising her hand, Hikaru summoned the staff from the tournament back to her, from where it lay at the bottom of the hot tub and caught in her hand. "Of course the spell didn't exist." Hikaru spat. "But that doesn't mean Emily's Ancestors couldn't make one. I don't know every spell in existence, they had one I didn't know about till it happened. Who are you going to believe brother? Your own sister? Or our enemy Logan in disguise?!"
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Gaserlake on November 07, 2010, 01:14:54 AM
"Oh, come on," Gaserlake rolled his eyes. "Most of the betrayals are from people's siblings, because that's who they trust the most. But you know that you made it up. They may have thought of the idea before you did, but you still made it up. Again, I am NOT Logan. I'm Gaserlake, a fucking Aralang!"
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 07, 2010, 03:47:34 AM
"Hah! A likely story, Logan! My brother and I have never even heard of an Aralang. You'll have to do better than that." Hikaru grinned as she lied. "And really now, when's the last time you betrayed your sibling or vice versa? Never?"
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Gaserlake on November 07, 2010, 03:52:37 AM
"You've heard of a damn Aralang. Besides, with the way you've been behaving all this time, it seems like you know a lot about me," Gaserlake smiled. "I've betrayed him plenty of times, well, depending on the way you look at it. Some say yes, some say no." He then telepathically told her via a secure telepathic connection, "I'll talk about that later, just between you and me."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 07, 2010, 03:56:56 AM
"Oh right. Like I really believe that. More crap Kai put you up to..." Hikaru paused then smirked and rolled her eyes, "Logan?" She completely ignored the telepathic connection and closed it off before he could even finish after the first word said.
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Gaserlake on November 07, 2010, 04:38:18 AM
But Gaserlake forced the telepathic connection through, due to his superior skill that he gained over 15 billion years. "Prove that I'm Logan," he said.
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 07, 2010, 04:48:44 AM
And when he forced it, Hikaru countered by humming to herself inside her own mind to drown out the telepathy. The song? Some made-up song at the top of her head with the lyrics about killing Aralangs. "Prove you're not."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Gaserlake on November 07, 2010, 05:03:02 AM
Gaserlake, able to access her mind, forced Hikaru to stop trying to drown out the message, and at the same time, amplified the message. "Alright," he said out loud, "Hit me. Come on. Chop my arm off, or something. I'm sure Logan can't regrow a limb. Hell, slice my head off."
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 07, 2010, 05:25:03 AM
But because Hikaru's mind was one of her most protected sanctuaries with or without the shield she had always kept around it, forcing a message to her wasn't going to be so easy. This was because of more than one reason. If one were to think of the mind like a computer, he would be denied access as he didn't have the figurative 'password.' He may have been able to read it, such as one that looks at files. But this did not give access to the system files, and in analogy, would not give him control of the mind as a whole, such as senses, what she chose to think, or connection. He could try to bruteforce it all he wanted. But without having the 'password,' or in this case, being Hikaru, it was futile.

Due to this, the louder the message got, the louder Hikaru drowned it out with.
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Gaserlake on November 07, 2010, 05:57:00 AM
This time, Gaserlake sent two messages. One message was the same one that he tried to send all this time, and the other was another kind of message. It was a mimic of Hikaru's repeating song. It blended in with the song. Since Hikaru is accepting the fact that the song is repeating over and over in her mind to drown it out, the fake message has been accepted into her mind, allowing it more access than the other message. In fact, it was given access to Hikaru's short term memory. Gaserlake took advantage of that and made the fake message give the real message access to the short term memory, and in it went.
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 07, 2010, 06:15:04 AM
And with that, Hikaru snapped. "I've told you once before, the mind is a persons sanctuary. To invade it is breaking their damn privacy. It should be more than obvious I don't want to speak to you. So force it all you want. Say whatever the hell you want! I'll just proceed to ignore you." She sent through telepathic connection, quickly closing it off right after.

C2323 had long ago stopped listening to the two, dismissing anything either said as lies. He had found himself to a balcony. As it turned out, they were in a two-story house. C2323 was looking at something in the distance.

"Uh.. Guys?"

It was a massive, white hole in the sky.

"Ah," Matt spoke up, "I see that they've found unperception."

"Unperception?" C2323 asked.

"It's the nexus your friend Koty created. Or what he will create, anyway."

"Koty?" C2323 asked.

"Um... Nobody, nobody."

"Just what's going on here?"

Matt and Anisa both stepped out of the hot tub now, glaring at the other three. "I think its time that we showed you all something."

And then, the five of them were whisked away once more. They were going on a journey to the past... To The North -- the place known as Heaven by many -- and what it had once been. There they landed, the five of them, years and years before. They were in a peaceful village... A quiet village.

"Wait! What about Koty?!" Hikaru demanded before they had been teleported.  When they had arrived, she said nothing.
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: K2 on November 07, 2010, 04:42:45 PM
Her question had not been answered. As soon as they arrived in the peaceful village, a man who seemed to bear a striking resemblance to Koty (and Eli as well) walked by. No, this was not their merged form. It was someone else. Someone similar... Older.

"Merry ol' day to ye all," he said, bearing an 'Irish' accent. "But I sense that ye are not from around these parts."

"We're just passing through," Matt said... His voice was entrancing. "You do not see us. None of your kind do."

And after those words were mentioned, the man just walked on by as if nothing had happened. Matt and Anisa followed the man, and C2323 did as well.
Title: Re: The In-Between Darkness
Post by: Queen Bright on November 07, 2010, 04:53:24 PM
Hikaru followed as well, but not quietly. The whole time she grumbled and made snide remarks about the scenery off to the side. First they had wound up in a place where the man in charge couldn't seem to even keep one name. Told they'd be stranded for two-thousand damn years. Then ? As if that wasn't enough, her worst enemy and most annoying person she knew by now, had to show up out of fucking nowhere as well! Now, she still didn't have enough answers to know what the hell was going on, and they were in some white land that looked like they'd just been thrown into a snowglobe, and yet again, no one bothered to explain things. Hikaru was NOT a happy sage at this point.

"So... uh... What do you think's gonna hap-"

"We're here," Anisa announced. They'd followed the man who looked like Koty and Eli to a place where several people seemed to be showing up. Some sort of town hall meeting... In a church. C2323 took a seat in a pew, as did Anisa and Matt.. And a man came and sat on C2323 like he was a ghost, going right through him.

Once Hikaru saw C2323 get sat on, she opted to not sit down, and instead jumped atop one of the random pedestrians shoulders, hovering there with magic. Church? Just where the hell were they?

Gaserlake stayed standing.

The meeting eventually began.

"Order, order," a man at the alter spoke loudly, "I call this meeting to session. Dakome, please come to the stand."

"Yes, sir."

The man who looked like Koty rose and walked towards the alter.

Seeing that everyone has sat down, Gaserlake didn't have to worry about people sitting in him. He then sat down and opened up the book on Hikaru's device. He made sure Hikaru didn't see the book. He was a very fast reader, so he read through the book fast with ease. At the same time, he listened to what was happening.

"Okay," Dakome began, "Let's get this meeting underway. The place we call North has been-"

Suddenly, it stopped. It all stopped. The people, the movement... They were all frozen in place, solid still, the five viewers the only exception. But neither Anisa or Matt had caused this. They were just as confused as C2323 was, who was looking around the church room trying to figure out what had happened. What HAD happened?

And then, some sort of darkness appeared in a corner of the room. A dark energy of some kind? It was... It was a portal. And from this portal, it fell. It was a child of about five years old. Black hair, and pure black eyes. It looked straight at C2323, then at Hikaru, and it spoke. Its voice was not the voice of a child... It was a dark voice of pure corruption which made the walls of the church shake.

"You awoke me. Now, you must pay the price."

The child crouched into a ball and an aura of darkness began to surround him. Anisa and Matt jumped up, realizing what was happening. Anisa started to run towards the boy, but Matt yelled out, "NO!"

It was too late. As soon as Anisa was near the boy, the portal behind him absorbed her whole. Matt looked at the others and yelled out, "LET'S GO! I'LL EXPLAIN EVERYTHING, BUT WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE!"

He prepared a portal of his own, pure white -- just like the snow outside -- which led back to the hot-tub, but before anyone could enter it, a wave of pure darkness began to spread out from the boy. All Matt could manage was, "GRAB A HOLD OF SOMETHING! ANYTHING! AND HOLD ON TIGHT!"

And C2323 did just that, grabbing ahold of the pew he was sitting on and grasping it for dear life.

Hikaru immediately jumped up and grabbed hold of one of the rafters of the ceiling in the church, lifting herself up onto the wooden beam and hugging herself to it.

Gaserlake closed the book, and jumped up, and grabbed hold of the rafter, and hugged it tight.

Matt grabbed onto something as well -- and just in time, too. The darkness grabbed ahold of C2323, Matt, Hikaru, and Gaserlake. It tried to pull them towards the little boy. It tried really hard... And C2323 gave in. His hand slipped from the pew... And he found himself being absorbed into the very essence of the boy... But he fought back, grabbing ahold of something -- another pew. He was halfway between the darkness that enveloped the boy and the church. He saw for a moment what existed inside the darkness.

...It was Era Valley. If C2323 allowed himself to be absorbed by the boy, he'd be back at Era Valley. He called out to the others, "Let go!"

And he let himself be absorbed.

"ARE YOU INSANE?!" Hikaru called out to C2323 before he was absorbed. Nevertheless, she followed suite and released her hold on the rafter, letting herself be pulled into the portal of darkness as well. All the while thinking in the back of her mind, that she had a really bad feeling about this.

Gaserlake saw what Hikaru and C2 did, so he let go of the rafter, yet held on tightly to the book, and let himself fall to be absorbed in to the portal of darkness.

Matt, on the other hand, didn't dare let go of his post. Lucky for him, the boy disappeared and everything went back to normal...

Of course, it wasn't lucky for anyone who happened to be in the Era Valley then and there.
