Zero Light got off the galactic bus that had docked into the Zarethian world and capital, Teffilin. Not that he knew who the Zarethians were, or their history with his...Parents, shall we say. Then again, he didn't know what species he was, so...
He walked to a information desk, intending to get information to lead him to the immigration offices. Finally, he reached the front of the line, and he asked the receptionist,"Hi, uh, I was wondering where the immigration offices were? Im looking to become a citizen." His voice, though in whatever the basic galactic language was, had a heavy New York-Terran accent. And his teeth...A instinctive reflex whenever he saw intelligent life up close...They sharpened to points. He almost never noticed it, until pointed out, but his teeth...Became fangs. Fangs all too familiar to the Zarethians, as Lorcar teeth aren't just designed to make flesh easier to swallow...But easier to rend. To sheer apart. Their teeth...Are distinctive, though somewhat varied between Castes, a people who'd survived such a attack might recognize it...It was a gradual change, but the eventual resemblance was unmistakable. Resemblance, of course, not actuality...But even so...

The desk clerk was having a very good day up until the man, who did not look any different from the other thousands she served that day came up to her. He smiled at her and asked where the immigration office was like most people. Unfortunately, he seemed to have rather sharp teeth. Teeth that were shown on old holo-pad documentaries. She froze up and after a second, smiled sweetly as she pressed the red button under her desk.
A starship grade glass holding cell appeared and entrapped the young shapeshifter as klaxons started blaring on and on. Eventually he was the only one left in the airport. Except for a young red headed Zarethian who was poking the glass.

Soon after the alert was set off, FA Sora arrived on scene. she attempts to assess the situation, but decides to wait for Zarethian reinforcements.

"Um...Uh...Was it something I said?" Zero asked, after he was the only person left. He crouched down to the kid, and asked,"Hey, uh, whats going on? Im...Confused...Do you know where everyone went?"

The military arrived in full force, they brung the tanks and all the infantry from the surrounding area. They looked inside and saw the kid and the lorcar. "Oh my god! He's taken the kid hostage!" One of the soldiers shouts.
The kid, meanwhile was looking up at the face of the lorcar with a face of abject adoration. "I dunno why's you in there. But you're cool..." He said.

She flashes her ID. "Fleet Admiral Sora, Commander of the 3rd Fleet.". She waits, "Whos in charge here"

"Hu-WAIT WHAT!? Hostage!? Where? Damnit, I have to get out of this tube so I can help them...Hey! Uh, Fleet Admiral, was it? Can you tell me whats going on? I think I might be able to help!" Zero said, looking around the tube. He scanned the area, looking for the person who took the kid hostage, but didn't see anyone, at least, nobody with a kid hostage. Not wanting the only kid he could see to be hurt, he said,"Hey, kid, those look like military officers. Looks like somethings gonna go down, so I want you to go stay with them. They'll keep you safe while whatever's going on is taken care of, but if you stay out in the open like this, you might get hurt, and I couldn't stand to see something like that happen. So come on, get going already!"

The soldiers saluted the woman was the admiral. "I am, ma'am." Said one soldier, a Major by the looks of him, who stepped out of the crowd of military men and woman in various states of dress. He looked like he was half asleep and was wearing bunny slippers.

The little kid looked at the guy in a little bit of confusion. "But they don't look very nice. They have guns and stuff pointed at us. And that one guy is wearing bunny slippers!" The kid protested, pointing to them and pouting.

The soldier all crowded around the entrance and pointed at the Lorcar in the cage. "Let the kid go! We can an will shoot if necessary!"

"I dont think they mean any harm. Look, its alright. Just go to them, I promise that they wont do you any harm. Trust me, they're the good guys." Zero said to the kid, before hearing what the soldier said and frowning. "I dont have any hostages...What on earth are you talking about? I dont even know why Im in this shutter, and if you mean the kid right there, I think he's saying he's afraid of you guys. Look, I have nothing but respect for you all, but Im really quite confused!"

"im taking command here. Rap this situation up and take the locust to observation.", she said very strict and serious.

The kid looked at him one last time and then ran over to the Zarethian soldiers. The soldiers in turn simultaneously flicked the lorcar off and then made the tube lift out of the air, with his still sealed inside it and put it in the underground tube system meant from dealing with Lorcar insurgents.

Zero blinked twice, before asking,"Um...Hello? Whats going on? Did I do something wrong?"

Unbeknownst to anyone else in the building, Knightmare lurked in a corner of the roof of the building in his blob form appearing to be nothing more than a shadow on the ceiling, simply observing for the moment. How did he get there you might ask? Well, I don't feel like telling....but I suppose I don't have much of a choice then do I?
Knightmare had been a very busy...blob....thing, he had been going around from city to city on the planet, stealing all of their toasters when he decided to head to their capital, he had just stepped off the ship that brought him there when klaxxons began blaring as a large commotion broke out as people left the terminal. Not wanting to miss out on whatever was happening he dropped his human disguise began a large blob the fell to the floor and snaked it's way through the crowd of people, trying his best to avoid being stepped on, and slithered up a large pillar and into a corner of the roof and watched the going ons. And what should he see? His old nemesis...Devour, encased in a glass tube and...being arrested?
This he had to see.

(......did you even read my post? While security was distracted by Zero he slithered up a pillar in puddle form and hid in the nooks and crannies of the ceiling. )

((Oh, dude, he's a security protocol nightmare (pun not intended) able to take on the form of other people, DNA structures, memories (including knowing about the teeth thing, and how Zarethians hate Lorcar) basically, it wasn't that hard.))

The Zarethians, in keeping with standard protocols, put the whole continent under an anti-psychic field. Thus assured, they transported the tube holding Devour to the labs in Balosk, the nearest large city.

Knightmare, seeing that the fun was over, slithered out through a window and dropped to the ground getting on odd sense of Deja Vu, like he'd done this before, he changed to human form shaking his head. He walked to the side of the road and stuck his thumb out in order to get a ride to the nearest big city so he could take the next galactic bus off the planet, his feeling of Deja Vu increasing. "I swear to god, if a pink limousine picks me up I'm gonna set up shop as fortune teller"

Then, like some cruel joke, a pik limo pulls up to him. A pretty girl opens the door and asks him "Have I seen you before? Need a ride?"

"No, I don't...think so, and yes I would like a ride...to the nearest city" he scratched his head feeling very odd.

"Alright, jump on in." She said.

"Yeah, alright" Knightmare walked around to the other side of the vehicle, opened the door and hopped into it.
"Hey, is it just me or does it feel like this has happened before?"

"Yeah, I know what you mean." The girl said as she drove him into the city. "Kinda like deja vu."

"Yeah" he muttered as he looked out the window "Deja Vu..."

She nodded and as they neared the city asked him "Where do you want to be dropped off?"

Devour blinked in confusion. "...Uhm....What the Hell is going on...? No, seriously, Im confused!" He yelled from within the tube, to anyone that might hear.

"What is going on? Locust, you aught to know your sins." A doctor said as the tube appeared in his lab. He was tall with black hair as well as green eyes. His pale face was covered in mechanical oils which dripped onto his lab coat. He was looking at Devour sourly.

"The nearest Light Hound bus station, madame. I'm going to be visiting family." he said, smiled at his own joke.
(Hope you don't mind if I give the bus company a name, Hiro)

"Sure thing. Its really close." She said turning into the city and then making a right. A large, blue bus station appeared in front. "Here you go." She said, smiling as she parallel parked.

"Thanks" he said, climbing out of the car. He turned and waved goodbye before walking into the station. Good kid he thought as he walked into the station and got in line for a ticket, pity that her and everyone else here is going to die soon.

"Locust? Im sorry...But I really dont have any idea what you're talking about. I mean, I know what a Locust is, one of those little burrowing insects that come up above ground to feast upon all sorts of crops everywhere, on the planet I grew up on...But I dont see why you'd be calling me one..." He said, even more confused.

"No problem," She said, smiling. She rolled up the car door and drove off.
"You and your breed are exactly like those insects that infest Earth." The doctor said roughly. "You eat everything in sight and move on. Again and again. A vicious cycle of death and destruction."

Knightmare bought his ticket and was soon on the a galactic bus headed for Stariana along with several other people, unfortunately they would soon find that they would be taking a slight detour...

"Sins? Well, we've all got vices, to be fair, nobody's perfect..." Devour said, now frowning in confusion,"But I've tried devoting my life to helping people. I really have no idea whats going on."

"Helping people?" The doctor scoffed as he turned his back on the Lorcar and grabbed a needle. "If you helped people you wouldn't be in this predicament. Do you even know what you are?" He asked, genuinely curious.

"I...I THINK Im human, or some mutation thereof." He said, thinking it over. "I've lived on Earth most of my life, only having somewhat recently left the planet, and even if not by DNA, I consider myself 100% human. I know that my form isn't bound like a human's, and that Im capable of shifting my shape, which is why I think I might not be as human as you or the other people here, but I was brought up in a culture where race didn't matter much, and I'd say the same applies to species as well, s'long as the individual hasn't done anything to harm another."

"Well, youre not human. Not even close." The doctor said. " Your DNA is that of a species of aliens called the Lorcar - a species of intergalactic locusts who strip planets of their resources and kill thousands, billions of people. They're often changing due to bio-engineering and you seem to be a new type."

He frowned at this news, genuinely saddened by it. He closed his eyes and took a breath-biologically useless since he got oxygen via his skin, but it was a behavior picked up from humans-before releasing it and opening his eyes again, covering his mouth. "H...How many were lost?" He asked, quietly, knowing that if they had this sort of security against these monsters, these vile beasts, they'd must have been previously attacked. His voice seemed to contain a hint of sorrow, pain...And rage. "I must know..How many?"

"Billions... Maybe trillions." The doctor said, turning away, ignoring and turning a few dials and tubes. "Hold on, I'm going to check your psych signature." The doctor said. A psych analysis field entered his head. "Hrm... the readings say that you arent transmitting any psychic signatures. Nor are you receiving any.... Hold on." He turned on a AP field. "Now talk."

He clutched his head. "I cant believe it...They were trying to kill you all..." He said in shock, not even remotely stopping when the field went online.

"Shit." The man cursed, checking the dials and levers again. "No psych presence from another source and can speak on its own...." He turned towards Devour. "You're no normal Lorcar... You're special." He had a tube take a skin sample from him. He cross referenced it with other lorcar DNA modules."The base is there.... but you are far different." He muttered, completely ignoring the lorcar's rambling.

"Yeah, genius, I think I'd figured that much out by now, considering I save people's lives in my spare time..." Zero muttered, still confused, but calming down with the other person's more impassive reaction. It was very bad, of course, but if they'd gotten over it, he supposed, why should he be making such a big deal of it?

"Well, all your signs show genuine sorrow and regret, positive markers for sentience...." The scientist said excitedly. "If I let you out, you wont try to escape or do anything negative, right? I think I may have a way to help you save people..." The scientist said, scanning more data.

"Look, Im so confused about all this that my head's about as clear as a sandstorm right now. I couldn't formulate a escape plan right now if you left a window open to outside!" Zero joked, trying to cheer himself up, mostly. It worked, but just a little, really. Not much at all...

"Right, right, sandstorm, window bad. Yes." The doctor muttered, not paying attention. He pressed a button and the tube shot back up without Devour. "Now, you say you want to protect people, yes?"

"Its been the only thing keeping me going for a lot of the time...I guess I read too many comics where the good guys win and the bad guys lose teeth, and considering my...My abilities, well, you do the math." He said chuckling a little. "But truthfully, its deeper than just any 'winning side' kind of deal. People should not prey on each other, and when the criminals make the police insufficent, thats where I made my appearance back on Earth. Even when I wasn't really needed, I still helped out. And...Well, crime's not the only danger in the big cities, and since I sleep rarely, I've always been able to try to help out when I could."

"Hm. Morals. Good." He turned on a screen. "Addler. I found something." He messaged.
The screen goes blank for a moment. Addler's face appears. "What is it, Dick?" He asked.
Dick smiled. "This being behind me is a lorcar. A lorcar with morals. A lorcar who wishes to help. He cannot transmit to the hivemind nor can he receive any transmissions. He is sentient."
Addler looked at him in complete surprise.... "Let me talk to it."He said finally.

Zero stood there, looking at the screen. "Uh, hi, there, Addler, was it? Um, yeah, Im Zero Light...Some called me 'Devour' back on Earth, though they didn't know my real name. I think its just 'cause my 'hero' form was, well, kind of terrifying...Still is, actually..." He said, a bit dumbly, not entirely knowing what, per-say, to say, so deciding to just greet himself and go from there.

Addler's face remained unchanged. "Do you wish to help atone for the sins of your makers, the sins of your father passed onto you, his son?" Addler asked grimly.

"I atone no sins I have not committed, I shall tell you that much. I am me, and I will atone for any sins I make, and those alone. After all, we are responsible for what WE do, nothing less, but NOTHING more. I wish to help people, to stop and reverse the progress of corruption and crime, but I do this because I believe its right, not to make up for the crimes of anyone else." He said, a small bit peeved at what the person said.

Addler nodded, impressed. "Ah, good. So no atonement bullshit. Just what I wanted. You see, I dont want some pansy bastard who is burdened by some past crimes. I want someone who is willing to forget those crimes that others committed and act on his own, with initiative. " He said. "So, you would be willing to help us suppress crime, both here and elsewhere in our empire? You will follow our orders provided we give you enough freedom to do your job?" He asked.

"If it means helping those in need, well, thats why Im here in the first place."

"But you do realize that, because of your species, no matter how different you are from them, people will not accept your help if they think you're related, right?" Addler asked.

"Many of the best heroes have been hated by the people they protect." He shrugged, before going on,"If popularity was my concern, I'd have stopped a long time ago."

"Yes, well, not all of the heroes in stories bear a cultural stigma so strong that it is burned into the very existence of a species to fear and hate their name." Addler shot back.

"Even if Im hated, even if people think me a monster, does that mean I can just let villains continue their exploitations of those who cant defend themselves? If you're going somewhere with all that, lets hear it, but if not, it doesn't make much matter to me. I'll continue saving people whether they think me a hero or not."

"Well, your determination is good... However, the military would be involved every time you came out and people recognized what you are. We couldnt cover that up and it would be awful for the whole damn government. So, we can inject you with a neutralizing agent that suppresses your lorcar DNA enough to make you go unnoticed." Addler said.

"Hm...Fine by me. We're all on the same side. Only thing is that I dont have any blood vessels, to the best of my knowledge, so a injection might not work best." He said, shrugging, before he asked,"I guess this makes you my boss, then. Whats the first assignment?"

"We'll find something. Alright. The first assignment is to stay put. There arent any real crimes going on yet. Nothing serious. We also have to get that damn genome suppressant working. Dick will fill you in more." Addler reached to turn off the channel. "One more thing. Good to have you." He turned off the comm.
Dick Mury looked at Devour. "Lets try the suppressant." He said, injecting him." Walk through those two door panels."

Zero didn't even react to the injection, but as he walked to the panels, his arm started twitching slightly as a layer of bone formed over it, spiking off randomly and sharply. It was only a small area at the injection site, though. "Uh...Is that supposed to happen?"

"No. Its not. Although, on the bright side you didnt set off any alarms." Mury said, checking his arm. "Is there bone under it?"

"To the best of my knowledge, no, not unless I need there to be. I can change myself to any form at will, provided I have the mass for it." He said, as flesh creeped over the bone, overtaking and breaking it down. "The only surprising thing about that display, really, was that I didn't will it to happen."

"If it happens again, we'll do some checks with your genetic structure and see if there is any fluctuation." Mury said.
