There was nothing for Hikaru to hold onto, so she hit the ground pretty hard. The Virus was inside Hikaru's body, and it was ready to take control of her body at will, but Hikaru doesn't realize it's in her. Next, the Virus attempted to infect her mind without her knowing.

As soon as she hit the ground, Hikaru jumped to her feet, standing up slowly from a fall that wasn't as painful as it should have been. Giving it no thought as she had other things to worry about, Hikaru unsheathed the katana at her side and held the blade ready as she glanced around. "Alright, magic gone, that I understand. But whoever the hell's there, how did you block my Spirit Energy?" Glancing each direction, she stood with the blade ready to pounce at the first thing that attacked her.

The Virus has infected both her body and her mind, then it infected her soul, stealthily. Since her soul is connected to her spirit, it also stealthily infected her spirit. Then, all at once, the Virus took over the mind, body, spirit, and soul.
