In the loft, Church wakes up. He could still see the sunset through the heavy shades that he put up. He looks over at the bed where Victoria was sleeping and gets up out of his cot in the corner. He cracks his neck twice, and puts on his uniform. As he walks over, he looks around the loft and yawns, straightens his officer jacket and fixes his hair...
-
A shadow darts behind him, with a red glint, darting from hiding place to hiding place, before...
"BOO!"
Victoria yells into his ear from behind, to scare him. "She then asked,"So, what should we do today, Church?" She asked, putting on her jacket.
-
He laughs a little. "Dont know Victoria. The sun is almost down... and its a Friday night." He looks back at the shades. "What kind of gentelman would I be if I didn't take a beautiful lady out on the town for a good time?" He smiles sadisticly...
-
"As I recall, you aren't a man, just as neither am I a lady anymore." She says, a smile curling on her lips, also revealing her fangs. "But you are right. Just wouldn't do for this to be a bad night. Well, lets get out there...See the sights, and I know how you love partaking in the sheer abundance of fine drink..."
-
"Agreed. I heard there was a nice restraunt down the street." He looks at his dress blues and straightens out the awards and rank pin on it before putting on his officers hat. "As much as I hate this planet, they make a fine wine..."
-
"Well, lead the way. I've no idea where to go, myself." She said, once they were outside. "Though the best option seems to be through the alleys. Nice and dark through there, hard to find, eh?"
-
He leads them through the alleys. "So, why don't you think that youre a lady anymore? I mean I've come to terms with my fate, yet I still count myself as a gentleman"
-
"Oh, but isn't it obvious, my friend? We are not gentleman and lady, we are, quite simply," She says, before pointing to a small group, only two people in it,"...Monsters."
She still didn't like feeding, the idea of it revolted her. But being with Church, made it seem better, because she wasn't alone. Really, probably any Vampire would do as a 'hunting partner', but at least she had a friend. Really made it easier to go through.
-
He frowns. He didn't want her to think that she was a monster. "Even though we feed off the innocent, it doesn't mean we aren't people. You mean very much to me Victoria. No matter how you think of yourself, you are still a lady in my eyes... " he looks over at the prospective meal. "Remember the first time we met?"
-
"Mm, I do. You're quite good at concealing your nature, my friend. Thought you were a normal human, after all. And...Thanks. Its good...To know someone still sees me as human." She said, a smile on her face. "Now, then...Lets get this part of the night over with, so we may enjoy the rest, eh? Maybe go to a theater or such."
-
"Agreed... saddens me sometimes... knowing that you're doom to my fate." He looks over at the prey and sighs. He motions for her to get the left one while he gets the right one. "You know that if i could give my life and soul, i'd lift this curse from you." They approach the prey...
-
"Ah...Well, I cant say I entirely dislike this curse. Feeding might not be my favored action...But most humans can only dream about life eternal, you know? I guess I have...A positive outlook on things. Besides, if not for this affliction, I'd never've met you, or my good friend Parody Prime." She said, making her way towards the prey. She tapped the girl on the shoulder, and when she turned around Victoria made eye contact to get the very, very thin purple fog to go into the girl's eyes, dimming her ability to think...
-
He does the same to the guy... "sometimes I just don't want you to end up like me you know?" He bears his fangs.
-
"Hm, I wonder...In honesty, though, Im not worried about it. Im doubt Im going to become quite as sadistic as you, after all, but I have adjusted to this existence. Like I said, it has its bad points, but that doesn't make it COMPLETELY bad." She said, before biting her prey. The girl slumped to the ground, unconscious from the blood-loss. Victoria took a small look around. "Hm, isn't this where we bit those other two? I wonder what happened to them...It usually takes two days for someone to turn, and-" She froze, as she saw the spot where they'd been hidden. Ash-marks...As though they'd been burned. "Wha...What happened, Church?" She asked, in horror, almost unwilling to believe it.
-
He wipes the blood of his prey off of his mouth... "I don't know... it looks like they just burned up." He tries to hide his worried look from her. "I think we should get out of here... I've seen this in inexperienced vampire hunters. They couldn't figure out the proper way of killing us, so they just ended up using fire on us... brutal to say the least." He crouched down to the ash and felt it. He stands back up and looks at the night sky...
-
A volley of fireballs came from out of nowhere, or at least that was what it would seem. As an invisible and sealed portal opened near them, sending a barrage of fireballs that would emit UV radiation from them. Harrisia was at the top of her game, on top of another building nearby trying to eliminate the vampires.
-
As soon as she felt the burns, a black wall tore itself from the walls of the alley and the ground; walls made from pure darkness itself. Fueled by her blood, the magic created a area of pitch-black; it isn't that light wouldn't go there...But rather that it could not exist in the area these dark walls surrounded. As Ultraviolet radiation is still light, merely one form of light we cannot see, it was barred entry from the location to harm the Vampires any longer.
Now, you might wonder why a Vampire wouldn't just use this spell all the time during the day. Well, thats simple-this barrier of shadows, you see, is imobile. The Vampire is safe, yes...But only within that zone.
Still, it did provide the Vampire precious time to heal the wounds, the burns healing faster than one would think possible.
-
"Victoria! Shit!", he looks over at the attacker from their darkness barrier. His eyes went straight to black as he drawed his weapon. "Are you ok?" He quickly examines the burns and then focuses his attention to the attacker... He fires his 5.7mm HV,AM, Armor Piercing hand gun.
-
However what the bullets would hit is a construct. Suspecting that there would be retaliation, Harrisia had already teleported another mile away from the area, to the top of another building. Once there, she sighed and took a deep breath. These vampires would need to be dealt with somehow and so she focused on the unique magic signature of victoria shade and the one of Church. Sensing an item that fired bullets magic could not affect in his hand, Harrisia was a bit worried. So what did she do at the moment in time? Use a simplistic way to get rid of the gun of course. Focusing on it's internal workings, she sent an intense wave of cold air enough to freeze the gun from the inside outwards into the gun so that it would no longer be of use.
Once the gun had been dealt with, if that would work Harrisia held out her hands. Clenching them together she said. "Sword of Light, lend me your light. Awaken the holy dragon bow." A bow made out of white and gold light materialized in her hands. A target scope appeared, and she locked onto Church and Victoria Shade. Unleashing 5 crimson energy arrows from the bow, she waited for it to penetrate the field of darkness if it could.
-
As the bow called upon the power of a magic blade, the Holy Dragon Sword((which I made)), it had the same properties. And so...Harrisia's hands would be burned by the light of the bow, as the power burned all who wielded it with Darkness in their heart, no matter how little. As such, her aim would be imperfect. Even if it weren't, however, these were arrows of light-which would be blocked by the shadow-wall. Victoria, however, decided that something had to be done. "My friend, I do believe it is time to get rid of this nuisance...Once and for all..."
She used some more of her blood to power a powerful magic, the shadows around them solidifying into some material only describable as Darkness. The Darkness molded itself into a shape similar to that of bats, but much simpler-two wings on the sides of a long, teardrop shaped body. The point was the tail, the rounded end the head...And the head of every bat had what seemed to be two bats whose eyes glowed red. These bats then made their way outside of the barrier, as though a flock coming out of a cave at night. They numbered around 500 in total, all swarming upon the person who held a magic bow. As they neared the foe, they'd reveal their 'mouths', really just a opening with two fangs. They'd cling to their target and bite them, draining their magic and tearing open their flesh, to cause their blood to run out of their body while their magic was drained away.
All in all, a horrific way to die, swarmed by bats that tore into your flesh and sucked you dry.
-
The moment the bats appeared, a wall of portals opened in front of Harrisia. The wall of portals collided with the creatures and would send them to the sun directly. It would not pass go, or collect 10 million dollars or do much else. It's main purpose was to protect her.
-
He simply cocked as smile, and ravens began to help the bats. The ravens however, outnumbered the bats 20:1 and began to flank harrisa as she dealt with the bats. The entire time, he sadisticly recites Edgar Allen Poe's the Raven. Much to his own sadistic enjoyment. He begins to start popping off more rounds of his 5.7. "Why must they try to fight us."
He begins humming the song Mad World as more and more ravens came.
-
But since she was already gone, the ravens could not pursue her.
-
Once the coward had retreated, he focuses his attention to Victoria. "Are you ok?" He looks at her burns...
-
The wounds were mostly healed already, like all wounds for her. Though...Sunlight burns seemed to leave a mark or something, because they take much longer to heal than others. "I'll be fine, dont worry." She said, her voice a little shaky. She went back to a normal stance, the walls fading before she almost fell over. "Thats funny...Im not usually off balence..." She said, attributing it to the andrenaline rush at first. Then she remembered, by now slurring the words,"But wait...Andrenaline crashes dont make you off balance, blood loss do-Aw, damnit...Alright, time to hunt for another bloodbag...If I can walk correctly...Shouldn't've made so many of the little bats, but they're cute...And I cant find the doggy, so I needed somethin', you know? Somethin' that could seek 'em out."
She used the wall to keep her balance for a bit, before shoving off of it, intending on simply not resting on the wall anymore. Not her brightest idea, considering her sense of balance was in lala land, and so she fell. "Ow...Gravel hurts...Pain..."
-
He helps her up. He had a large hole burnt in his uniform on his upper back. "can you walk?"
-
"Yeah, I can walk. Hmm...Ah, this'll do." She said, picking up a discarded hockey stick to use as a cane. "I'd take advantage of your chivalry and make you help me, but yer lookin' like you'll need one of these too, in your shape. Although, you'd prob'ly be a little hunched over, heh heh." She teased, tossing him a stick. "Now I just need an old mask, a chainsaw, and a bunch of victems to harass and eventually slaughter no matter how many times I 'die'. Maybe a lake or something. Then you need a sweater, a claw guantlet on your hand, a fedora, more teenage victems, and dream powers so you can kill people with nightmares, so that we can eventually have a great battle or something for no good reason that ends in some kinda tie." She rambling, trying to keep herself from thinking about her need for blood. She sighed mentally, realizing that thinking of things to stop oneself from thinking of other things involved thinking of those other things...Or something. It seemed that way, anyhow, at the moment.
-
Not knowing of 20th century horror films his eyes get wide with excitement. "I mean, we can if you want to.." he thinks about killing people in the city just like he had in London those years ago... UE snaps out of it and shakes his head. He looks at the stick she three at him and realizes his burns. "Look let me carry you to the loft... there should be some loners at the bar around this time. I'll fetch one and you can get your strength back... and maybe catch a buzz"
-
Sniff sniff sniff. "I smell friends," thought Fluffy as he came out of an ally with a dead coyote in his mouth. "It is friends!" He thought, dropping the dead animal.
He then ran over to Victoria and began licking her sunburns. "Helloooo!" he wanted to say.
-
As for the two that got bit, their heads exploded literally pushed apart from the inside outwards as Harrisia had cast another spell, one not aimed at the vampires, but at their most recent bites.
-
"Right, thanks." She said, using the stick to keep herself up. "And maybe at another point, because right now Im feeling like Im gonna fall over...Hey, is that...It is Fluffy, that little doggy. Where'd you go, boy?" She asked as the canine ran up to them, with her petting the doggy. After the two kids' heads exploded, she reflexively jumped away, screaming a little bit. Since she was already off balance, she fell on the floor again, but pulled herself up using the hockey stick. "What the HELL just happened?"
-
"RRRuufff!" said Fluffy just before growling at the vampire hunter.
-
But Harrisia was too far away to be growled at, or even seen.
-
Church jerks his head towards to other direction. "Come Fluffy. Much work to do". He looks over at the kids... "We really need to find that coward." He helps Victoria down the street. "Come boy!"
-
Fluffy assumed that Church meant the one hunting them: the one he could smell. She may have been far away, but the wind was not in her favor, and a vampire dog never forgets a smell. Nevertheless, he turned to follow Church.
