Long story short, by helping Gaser, standing up for him, we've attracted the cops. They went through his computer, they have SPs link, and now they're reading every chatlog you had with the poor guy. Add that to the timing of these IPs the same day we find that out and you come to the conclusion of...
The police are monitoring SP too.
Same timing this IP starts coming on 220.181.108.163
Followed by 220.181.108.*
Every post you make? An ip of that type views.
Earlier we had a spam of about 10-17 of those IPs.
It's most likely the damn police with proxies. So, everyone beware.
Edit: Point Proven.

... wow
-
Yeah. I guess this is the time we should all act our worse on purpose, huh? :P
-
No..show the pigs that we aren't a bad community.
-
I know, I know... I'm kidding.
I would just disable guest viewing... but you have to do it to every forum one at a time. Do you know how long that takes?!!
-
Well do you want the pigs creeping on us? Personally I'd do it myself, but I'm not an admin....
-
Another weird IP...

Look up that ip, you get this, http://112.210.217.117/home.asp

Oy, play nice. Cooperate if they ask questions, not like we have anything to hide. It's a PG-13 site and I doubt we have anyone even under 15 here, so they can't rag on us for that. This whole thing is absurd to begin with. Nothing wrong with a kid standing up for himself when everyone involved knows he's getting treated unfairly.
-
It's not that we do anything wrong or have anything hide. But to have them snooping around a site that is in no way their jurisdiction and is completely owned by the staff? That's an intrusion on rights of the site. >.>
-
Not like we've got anything to hide, though Nisorin's right, if anyone asks any questions, just be polite and tell the truth.
-
The site is under their investigative jurisdiction because the case nearly revolves entirely around the place and our most prominent members.
-
I have to agree with K and Nis...
-
But we do have the right to like disable guests and ban their asses, you know. That DOES fall under site ownership jurisdiction. Oooh how about a server ban? :P That'd be awesome. 403'ing the cops! A total hit to Big Brother.
-
Hoorah, lol.
-
Nisorin is right. No matter how fun it would be too do it still we really can't deny them other wise it would look like we do have something too hide. Right now we need to focus on the safety of ourselves because I'll be honest, as long as Gaser is in the bin he is safe there. They aren't going too let him do anything too himself or let his mom treat him like shit. So he'll be okay there for now.
-
Dude Logan. It's been forever!
-
I beg to differ Logan. Where he is, is complete shit. They'll probably do anything his mom asks them to, which is rather bad.

Nis, the site's rated R.

If there's been some update a note should be made of it in a permanent section, maybe a reply to that one. Either way, as long as you
guys didn't do anything illegal you should be fine. Anyway, I'm confused, what's this standing up for Gazer got to do with cops wanting SP? Why are they here? What exactly happened?

Long story short, his mom thinks we're cyberbullies.
-
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Oh man you've got to be kidding me! The cops are undergoing a full fledged investigation because his mom thinks you're bullying him?!

No.
Out of respect for Gaser's privacy I won't go into the details, but she thinks we're cyberbullies who've brainwashed him into hating adults. Gaser, on the other hand, has claimed that she is mentally abusing him. Until Gaser's situation is resolved and his safety is assured he will be unable to access SP. The cops are looking at SP, we believe, to help resolve this situation and figure out what would be best for Gaser and his living situation.
-
Even then, cyberbullying, and indeed bullying of any kind, is considered harassment and therefore is punishable by law, warranting an investigation. Shame they made that connection so late, if you ask me. Coulda spared a few thousand kids a hell of a lot of heartache. And bruises.
-
Actually Nisorin. Cyberbullying didn't become a real offense until 4chan and the Jessie Slaughter case. Then the police started following cases on it. But... what does it matter? We didn't bully him at all. We had disagreements, and some heated arguments, but we didn't do what his mother is saying we did. Otherwise, why the hell would Gaser want to come back to us instead of his mother? That's the part that doesn't make since in what they're claiming. If we really did 'bully' him into doing what he did, then common sense says he would hate us and not want to come back.
But with what they're saying, he wants to come back and we bullied him into it? ....That makes no sense.
Oh right. But then they say we 'brainwashed' him into it. That's just.... ugh! *shakes head in disapproval*
The whole thing and what they're claiming is just messed up!
The internet is a way to escape reality from some. If his mother really did abuse him, then that makes sense, of course he wants to come back online. But to honestly say we're all behind this, and made it all up and brainwashed him into doing it, and just.... It's ridiculous. It's just plain ridiculous. And because of it we're losing a friend and possibly facing charges...
Charges are fine though, easy to fight and prove against. But the loss of a friend... And a an important friend to the site, RP, and all of us... That's just.. unforgivable.
Besides. He'll be 17 the 11th. That's one year from 18. What then? He'll have the power to be here and talk to us if he wants. Are they STILL going to try to tell him no? Even when he has the legal right to do so? Uuuugh, too many questions unanswered. :-\
-
If they can claim him mentally unfit they can continue to hold custody over him after he turns 18. And if he's still living under her roof when he turns 18 he still has to live by her rules. At least while he's home.
-
Yeah, but that's such a long and complicated process. Even after several suicide attempts when I was younger, they failed to declare me mentally unfit.
-
Did you have Autism? And Gaser once told me as soon as he turns 18 he'd walk out that door. But that was always when he was in a down mood about his mother and contemplating running away, and such. So who knows if it's true.
-
No where'd you hear that? Just have Major Depression.
-
Gaserlake is, albeit very mildly, autistic. In the eyes of a court, despite how mild his so-called condition is, this will alter their opinion.
-
I was looking over posts from a few years ago of his and he was a lot more withdrawn than he is now. I think that speaks a lot towards our community in a very positive way.
-
Now if only his family would see that...
-
And from what ive seen while RPing with him on here and CE, he's become quite social with everyone.
-
Maybe... Maybe we can try one more thing to make his family listen and post it here as well as email it to them. A Gaser appreciation topic. Basically, like these topics where we've said good things and such, we make one big topic where every member posts a post about what they want to say to him. How they appreciate him, respect him, want him back, etc. Then they sign their name at the bottom and if they wish add some comment to the family of him.
I know it's not much to go on... but it's worth a shot.
-
I'm down.
-
I think we should do it either way.
-
...
And so it starts.
Goolge Voice transcribed a voicemail (albeit badly):
Hey Regina, I'm calling for Regina Richards. His office number of it. I'll talk with spark we're calling regarding allocation's of numerous phone calls are made. He made a resident. I here in our city, you has a right now. We have an investigation, into cyber bullying as well. So, returning find out what's going on here phone number as soon as you keep popping up on these these A gate information, so we're just trying to call and find out. What what the problem is the wire making some your phone calls. That's a showing up on the phone bill, so if you could give us a call back at area code (310) 349-2700.
