A small frigate flew into Earth's atmosphere, diving towards the last known co-ordinates of Hiro Dark's Mercenaries compound. Its superheated hull shone with an iridescent red casing as it merged with the atmosphere. Its blocky fore casing dipped into its descent and a small piece of it flew off.
Inside, the merc, Makarov was attempting to steer his rogue vessel onto the right course. "Ashra dammit!" He cursed as the metal casing flew past the fore viewport. A small purple hologram appeared next to the man who was still cursing under his breath as he struggled. "Perhaps we could take power from the rear sta-" it began.
"Shut up!" the man yelled as he made a rugged pull with the steering wheel. It promptly broke off.
"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" He began as his ship spinwheeled towards the planet.
It landed on on the edge of Ash Island at 20 feet from the shore. Its broken hull sunk down to the depths of the shallow pool. All except the cockpit which floated towards the shore.
-
Sara saw the ship crash land, ran over to the area it crashed, and waded into the water. When the cockpit floated up, she poked it with Malious, saying,"Hey, uh, you alive in there? I think you missed our LZ..."
-
The man, whose ZPAA was not worn at the time of the crash, popped open the hatch, his face coated in water. His beard and hair were soaked, along with the rest of him. He grimaced as he pulled his armour out of the sinking vessel. The hologram appeared.
"I told you so." It said. The man glared at it and looked at the woman. "Sorry, Miss. I was trying to find Hiro's mercs."
-
"Second-In-Command Sara Coal, and my Cursed here's Malious. Congrats, whats-yer-face, you've found us." She said, holding out her hand to help him out.
-
He took her hand and pulled himself out. "Well, that's good. My luck seems to be turning for the better." then the rest of his ship blew apart. He sighed. "Nah, still shitty. Well, back to business then. I'm here for two reasons. 1). I'm looking to join your group and 2). Theres a bounty that I wish to collect on." He said.
-
"Well, if you've got a bounty on one of us to collect on, then Im afraid to say you'll have a hard time getting accepted into our little band. Elsewise, I dont see why you'd come here for a bounty..." She said raising her eyebrow a bit. "As for the ship, though, yeah, I'd say its a pile of crap. How was it even still running in that condition?"
-
"Frankly, I dunno." The man shrugged. "However, its not a bounty on you that I'm here to collect. Its a bounty on someone on this planet. A group of someones. Its too big a job for me to do on my own though." He said, grinning.
-
"Ahhh...Yes, I do think we'll be able to help you in that case. Could probably be your initiation, in fact, once our ship gets ba-"
And suddenly, the Dark Heart, in all its awesomeness, went back down for a landing. Johnny, Kiera, and Flora came out, helping to ease Sam out of the ship. "Back so soon?" Sara asked, a look of surprise on her face.
"Yeah, fuck that guy. Sam here broke her arm just trying to keep us from getting killed to get him so that we could get on with it. So screw him, he can go there himself."
-
Makarov looked at the incoming ship in slight surprise. He presumed these were more of the mercs. "Is she alright?" He asked, concernedly, "I am versed in healing magic so I could heal that arm as good as new if you wish." He offered. "I'm Makarov by the way."
-
Sam twitched, a look on her face that wasn't quite a glare, but still not exactly nice. "Nawww, I want my arm to be painfully broken for a few months while it slowly heals and Im confined to the med bay. OF COURSE I'D LIKE IT HEALED NOW!" She said, before she looked at him and said,"Hey wait, I think I recognise you from somewhere...Hm...Wonder where?"
-
The AI, Sasha piped up at this time. "I believe that is called sarcasm, Makarov." He said, trying to be helpful. Makarov simply glared at his small, purple frame and looked back at the wounded merc. He calmly ignored her outburst and put a gentle hand on her arm. They glowed with a vivid blue light for a second as her bones reformed and reinforced themselves several times over. In the end, her arm would be better than new.
He took off his hand and let out his pent up breath. "Er.... I worked with you guys before.... on the coronation. Narrikians or something." He said.
-
"Oh yeah, that Nap planet, I was in the same building as you, now that I think about it." Sam said, thinking. "Oh, and thank you for fixing my arm. Im not usually so snippy, but then again, I dont usually have a broken arm, y'know?"
Sara nodded her approval at Sam's speedy recovery, and said,"Alright, then, back to business. You said you had a bounty for a group on-world?"
-
"Well, they may not be on world now... The Black Guard, a Narrikian radical group that has been bothering a few too many Zarethian higher-ups." He nodded to Sam. "I understand." He smiled as kindly as he could manage.
-
"Alright, then. We'll catch 'em and bring 'em in if we can but unless you've got any leads we'll need to move onto the next best thing." Sara said, considering the contract. And then, Hiro was beamed about five feet away...And landed facefirst into the sand. "MRRRMPH...MRPHMMR..." He said insightfully, before Sara pulled him up. "Er, what was that, Hiro?"
"HATE...BEAMING..." He repeated, spitting sand out of his mouth. "Pleh, blech, oh yeah, Archive's back, with a new name. Coalition, now."
"They're back? Hell yeah! Those guys were awesome!" Johnny said, as Sam let out a cheer. Flora, on the other hand, just twitched a bit before deciding she had a very interesting book to read in the not-here room.
-
Makarov looked at them bleakly. He had no idea who they were talking about. "er... Hello." He said to the man named Hiro. "I'm Makarov. We met on Nap during the coronation." He said offering his hand.

In a grand assortment of lights over the setting sun of the Atlantic island, several colors lit the sky, making a great scene for the spectators miles below on the beautiful island of "Ash". Blue collided with red to form purple, and from the purple came a pink which that purple folded around as the two colors danced vividly and in precisely artistic motions. It was quite the scene, and those who saw it would wonder what exactly was happening. It was only visible from the Atlantic Ocean, and Ash Island had a front row seat to watch these colors. They could see the colors dancing as if they were destined for each others love, and for the love of God.
As if the color had tripped in mid-dance, the pink color began to fall rapidly towards the Earth. As it approached, the spectators from Ash Island would be able to see that it was actually quite small, simply radiating light. It was a black ball of some sort of goo-like substance, shouting out the pink color as it fell. It was coming towards Ash Island. With a violent thud, it crashed into the sand on the island, but not even a crater was made from its crash.
The black goo seemed to dissolve into the sand in an all too swift maneuver, as if it were finding some sort of place to hide itself. From what, though, what black goo need to hide from? Rather, who would it need to hide from? Who would be after such a curious thing. Who would follow it to a lonely island on a lonely planet of human men, women, and children?
The purple light followed the pink light a moment later, also crashing down towards the Earth. It was revealed not to be black goo, though. It was.. A man, dressed in medieval armor and attire. He was radiating the purple light. He too crashed on the island, but when he crashed, he did make quite the crater, deep inside the sand.
It was with these two series of events that madness broke loose. A good portion of the sand on the planet began to rise, forming into the shape of.. Something. From the hole in the sand, Konjan, a somewhat elderly man wearing the medieval clothing, arose. Now, though, unlike when he was crashing, he had something in his hand. A sort of giant thermos with all sorts of buttons on it sat in his grasp as he stared at the sand that was forming a shape.
"Interesting that the ship would bring us here of all places," he told the sand. He pressed a button on his giant thermos device, and from it, a blueish light shot out, with streaks of green running through it. The light started moving towards the sand which was building up, but a barrier appeared over the sand, protecting it from the light. The barrier was unlike anything the spectators on Ash Island would have ever seen. It was some sort of giant wall-like barrier which flashed into visibility for just a second, grabbed a hold of the light, and tossed it away. This barrier's design had not been influenced by any sort of thing common to these parts of the dimension, or to these people.
Konjan glanced over at the spectators, then back at the sand that was still forming into some sort of shape.
"Do any of you know the Vesan Spell?" he asked politely.
-
"Huh? Oh, yeah, the Archive, now Coalition, was one of our major employers. Great bunch of people, trustworthy." Hiro said to Makarov.
Then...METEORS FELL!
Hiro pulled out Masamune when they fell, Sara pulled Malious out, Johnny got out his knife, Sam attached her scope to her old Anti-Material Rifle, Keira drew her cloak around her, Flora scrambled for the Dark Heart to turn the ship online, and to top it off, the entire bunker sprung to life, defensive installations being manned.
"Whats going on?"
"Is it a attack?"
"Man the weapons!"
"Lets get moving!"
Hiro listened to what he had to say, and shook his head, confused. "Um...No, cant say any of us do. Who are you, anyways?" He still kept Masamune out, just in case. Sara used magic to light the head of her Lance, Malious, aflame as a precautionary measure. Juuust in case.

OOC: Should we wait on Mr. Zak?
-
OOC: *snore* Huh wait, what? Oh its my turn? Damn...
Makarov nodded at the man's words. He had no clue what he was talking about but it always pays to be polite so that eventually others will pay you.
This was, of course, before something else fell from the sky. It made a large plume of smoke emit from the crater that it created upon impact.
Then a man walked out, along with black goo that dissolved into the sand. Makarov looked at Hiro incredulously. "You guys really weren't kidding when you said you had a lot of crashes." he muttered.
-
"To be honest, they're the first to actually hit the island. You were close, but ya still missed..." Hiro muttered back.
-
"True enough... but a crash is a crash." Makarov said.
-
"The name's Konjan," Konjan explained, "Intergalactic freelancer. I catch criminals like this guy and turn them into various authorities for cash. This criminal is Glom, from the 808 Kashan Sector."
He found a stick nearby and began to draw a line in the sand, around Glom, who's sand was now beginning to harden and.. crystallize. Konjan then held up his finger, and it lit up with green and red sparks. He held his finger down to the line he'd drawn in the sand, and the sparks lit up that line like a fuse. A red and green fire surrounded the sand, melting it before it could form into whatever Glom was forming into.
Konjan took a small, metal, square box from his pocket and placed it in the fire, dropping it. The fire rose up and gradually changed into energy. It was a prison force-field, green now, which had surrounded Glom. Within moments, the force-field compressed as Glom was once more in his black form. The force field compressed to meet Glom's small size, and a few moments later, a beam of light came down from the sky, picked Glom up, and brought him up to Konjan's ship.
Konjan walked over to the mercenaries, studying them.
"I hope you're treating good care of my island."
-
"Yer island? It was a pile of slag when we found it and built our base of operations here, actually. Kinda still is, since we never really decided to clean up the ashes." Hiro said before shrugging and holding out his hand. "Must be fate or somethin', full circle I guess, though, since we're also freelance mercenaries. Hiro Dark, obvious leader of Hiro's Mercs, and this is Sara, Johnny, Keira, Samantha, and our new recruit here is...Marokav, I think it was? We've got more of us in the base if you'd like to meet the others, and Flora, I guess you could say she's our support operative, is in the Dark Heart right now." Hiro said, pointing at each merc as he said their names. "Anyway, all mercs, bounty hunters, freelancers, whoever, are welcome here as far as Im concerned, s'long as they're not after any of our heads, heh."
-
Makarov nodded when Hiro said his name. Then he looked at him. "Er.... Hiro.... I'm not too sure this guy is looking for employment.... " Makarov said slowly, eyeing the newcomer.
-
Hiro frowned. "Never said he was. He's still welcome here, either way."
-
Makarov shrugged. "Its what it sounded like is all."
"Hey, you, uh... Konjan?" He said to the new guy. "What are you doing here? On Earth I mean, its pretty obvious you crashed and all but..." He trailed off.
-
"Oh," Konjan said, having almost forgot, "I was transporting Glom back to 808. We were in hyperspace when.. well.. I don't know what, exactly, happened. Someone.. was inside the hyperspace window. Some sort of man in a suit and tie.. He stared at my ship, and suddenly, I ended up here. Glom used the chaos as a chance to escape, and I followed him," Konjan explained.
"Actually," he continued, studying the group, "You wouldn't happen to be looking for employment? I've got years of experience under my belt. I was a Dimensional Guardian once, y'know.."
-
Oh, so the guy was looking for some jobs afterall? Well, this could mean one of two things. 1) more competition, but Makarov doubted that. This group didn't seem like the type... Or 2) more contracts. Makarov grinned.
"Guess I was wrong then, boss." He said to Hiro with a sidelong glance.
-
Hiro grinned, saying,"We're always happy to accept new allies. I'd say we've got space for seventeen more mercs in the bunker, and then we've got the outpost in Insanus as well. Anyways, once yer done collecting for that scum, we currently have a few jobs open. Its looking like a group known as the Black Guard's been pissing the wrong people off so badly that there's now a bounty on any individual member brought in, as well as standing bounties on specific members. We've also got two bounties from the former Archive, now Coalition, on two individuals affiliated with something called the Anrufe." Hiro said, getting the new ally caught up to speed.
-
"I see," Konjan said, nodding, "The sector I must return Glom to is some few days journey even in hyperspace, but I will be back."
He offered his hand out to Hiro, "Boss."
-
"Bah. None of that formal crap. Hiro's fine, its my name after all." He responded, grinning, as he took the new member's hand.
