Title: The Legend of the Templars
Post by: King Jeebus on May 22, 2011, 12:23:33 PM
An ancient tome lies among many others, telling a legend of men who became the keepers of time. This is the Legend of the Templars

Basically, everything magical Templar-wise will be explained here.

Templar arts

Rewinding
Rewinding is a simple spell that all Templars know and can even be learned by non-Templars. It is the art of restoring something or someone to it's past self, for example if something is broken it would be restored to being fixed. The scale of this depends on the user's own level of power and it can be used considerably more easily by Templars.

Evolution
This is the art of turning someone from being their initial race into being an initiate Templar. This involved taking some of the Templar's own energy and transferring it into the initiate, causing their body to transform and their current age and state to be locked in time. This is a ritual that takes a significant amount of time and cannot be used in battle. The Templar who does this is left tired and MUST rest before using any other Templar abilities.

Traveling
The primary skill of the Templars, the ability to shift through Time as they please. They are capable of taking up to two passengers with them when they do this and it also allows for teleportation.

Slowing/Speeding
This is a skill only full Templars are capable of using. It allows the Templar to slow or speed up the passage of time for specific targets. At high levels this can be used to rapidly age a target, at lower levels it can be used to slow down or speed up a target in comparison to the rest of the world.

Freezing
This is a skill that progresses as the Templar progresses. At low levels, the Templar is capable of stopping time for a short period for everyone but themselves. At high levels, the Templar is capable of freezing entities in time, effectively sealing them out of the world. The Templar MUST tie the freezing of an entity to the lifespan of something; the longer the target is frozen the more energy it takes.(For example, Jay Stryder's time being frozen was tied to the lifespan of the last living Templar. After said Templar died, Jay was released.)

Fast Forwarding
Much like speeding/slowing, this is the reverse of Rewinding. This is a high level Templar skill.
The target entity is pushed into a state that it could potentially be in the future. This is often used as a last resort to remove threats to Time itself by effectively pushing the entity into a state of decay or death.

Sealing
Another high level Templar skill. This is the power to seal only a singular aspect of an entity in Time.

Record Summoning
This is a simple Templar skill to summon a copy of any book from the Records of Time. The copy book's existence relies on the Templar touching it, once the Templar loses contact with the copy book it will suddenly dissipate into nothing.

Templar Artifacts

The Temporal Citadel
Far north in Inarin lies a great citadel which emanates Time energy across the whole planet. It has facilities to train and house many Templars. At the very peak is a huge room where it's master can control the whole Citadel and in fact the whole planet.

The Sword of Ages
A legendary Templar weapon said to be created hundreds of thousands of years ago. It is said that this blade gives it's wielder even greater power as a Templar. This is a blade that can only be wielded by a Templar of it's choosing.
Currently it is stabbed into a stone in the Elder room of the Temporal Citadel.

The Hook
Outwardly, The Hook appears to be a simple wristband (http://images.pricerunner.com/product/100x100/162722728/81stgeneration-Black-turquoise-tribal-leather-wristband-cuff-bracelet.jpg) however it is actually a Templar artifact.
It was created by some of the first Templars to ensure all who encountered them could be affected by their power. It's power is to hook it's wearer and anything in a small spherical field around the wearer into the flow of Time.

There will be more to come as I think of them.

Not trying to scare you off, but I do need to see what Hikaru thinks about this.

No worries, I asked Hik's permission to even touch Time before I made anything with this :)
