For the second time in the same day, Jay made the horrendously tiring teleportation to the Records. Dropping to the floor once again, he mumbled to himself "I REALLY need to work on my landings...And my...Not sucking at teleporting....". Exasperated he leaned against a nearby bookshelf.
-
"And whoo might you be?" The sing-sing voice echoed throughout the records and rang off the perpetual source of bookshelves, the sound flowing back into the area where Jay was at. Only, there didn't seem to be a source the voice could be traced back to, 'say for a single book, silver in color, that had fallen to the floor, seemingly out of nowhere.
-
"Who's askin'?" Jay chuckled, leaning his head back with a grin. He picked the book that had fallen up "I gotta at least try and keep this place tidy." He sighed, opening the book up to flick through the pages.
-
"I asked you first," the voice replied. All at once the pages of the book stopped and a silver light began to pour out from the paper, a hand then followed, and after that another hand. Till finally, the head and whole upper body of a young girl popped up out of the pages, amidst the silver light. Her features were that of a child no older that seven, and her eyes, onyx black in color, stared straight up at Jay, her expression one of wonder and teasing. "But if you insist, you may refer to me as Asura."
-
"...That was fucking terrif- Asura?!" Jay splurted, stepping back slightly "I...I'm so sorry." He immediately knelt "Jay Stryder, Lady Asura, I'm the last of the Templars."
He was unsure exactly what the Templar protocol for meeting Lady Asura was so he was mostly just winging it. All he knew was that she was to be respected.
-
Before it could fall to the floor, the book froze in midair as Asura pulled herself completely out of its pages, her staff following soon after. When that was done, she tapped the bottom of her staff to the floor and the glow immediately dissipated, as did the book. After about a moment of silence, Asura glanced back at Jay, her eyes studying him for a a brief moment, before replying, "The last? What happened to the rest?" Though Asura could easily know for herself what took place, as she WAS Time. At most times, she decided not to, as then it would ruin the surprise of life if one knew everything.
-
"I...I don't know. I don't want to know." Jay sighed in a brief moment of actual seriousness "When I saw their inner workings I tried to overturn things which...Didnt go well. I've been sealed away for some thousands of years m'lady." He stood, looking her in the eyes "I'm looking to fix things, with your permission anyway. I'm gonna make more Templars and i'm gonna do things right... I think."
-
"Well if that is your intention.." Asura paused for a moment and gave her hand that was holding the staff a flick, releasing a burst of silver light that flooded out from the sand within the hourglass. When the light had faded, Asura had gone from a child of no older than seven to a young adult of average height and long silver hair that flowed out around her in a motion as if the wind was blowing it. But because of there was no wind, one could only assume it was frozen like that with time its self. It was Asura's true form, that of the Enchantress of Time.
"A fair warning," Asura walked towards him, stopping just a slight distance away. "Choose wisely who you pick to be Templars, this time around. The people of this time are greedy, and most will use the powers of time for their own intentions, be they for good, or evil.. Existence is not safe, as there are embodiments that rebel and fight amongst themselves, as well as the entity they call Plex. The Negative Dimensional Core, brought to life by the foolish efforts of the Dimensional Guardians. It has gained sentience and seeks to devour all. Time stays neutral in most affairs. But in this..." Asura sighed, "We might not have much of a choice."
-
"...M'lady... Goddamn, when the other Templars had told me about you, they didnt describe your loveliness." Jay laughed, attempting to break the incredibly serious moment going on "But yeah I guess..." His eyes dropped to the floor.
"I'll follow you until the end of Time, just like the old guys" He cracked a smile with his obviously poor joke "As for who I make Templars... I'm unsure yet. If I really dont find anyone suitable, i'll just wait until the universe is a little more...Friendly. But I do know I need to find a place to base myself from." The Templar's arms folded "I was thinking Inarin, if it still exists that is. I know the old Templars'd abandoned it but I've no idea on whats happened with it since."
Jay grabbed a nearby book off the shelf and flicked through it while he spoke, it wasn't really anything important to him, some Sage called Hikaru; He didnt really care he was just entertaining himself reading someone elses past.
-
"Just make sure the powers of Time do not fall into the wrong hands," Asura gestured with her hand, to the entirety of the Records, "And for your world, just think of the book you want, and it shall appear. If you need anything more, don't hesitate to ask." And with that Asura had disappeared in a swirl of silver energy.
-
"I swear to protect the powers of time M'lady!" Jay shouted after her, putting back the book he was reading and thinking incredibly hard about Inarin.
The book came flying towards him, slowing enough as it came towards him for him to pluck it out of the air lazily.
He flicked through the pages sightly then chuckled "Still exists, protected by the...Temporal Citadel. Alright, bring the thunder."
And with that and a great flash of light, he was off again.
