I'll be dividing this into several posts so I can actually get stuff done on the DSi. That said, I'll begin with a bit of basic information about the Mechera government.
There are many parts of the Mechera Government, but they are all classified into two, larger, Sectors: The Harmony Sectors, and The Hostility Sectors.
Harmony Sectors are generally your normal everyday political groups, and Harmony controls things like domestic issues and foreign policy; these are the people who make new laws for the Mechera, who maintain diplomatic relations with other empires, who research new technologies, ect. Basically, the Harmony Sectors are the 'Civilian' parts of Mechera government. When I said new technologies, as well, though, I mean ALL new technologies; while there is a weapons research department, its not part of the Hostility branch of Mechera government like you'd think. This is to prevent anyone in the Hostility Sectors from taking command of the research labs in order to secretly produce new weapons to stage a coup, and ALSO so that the Harmony Sectors can approve new weapons technologies, in order to make sure they are humane. Well...Humane enough, anyways. The Police Forces are also part of the Harmony Sectors, seeing as Police are considered Civilian forces by Mechera Law. However, the Hostility Sectors can and WILL comandeer present Police forces during emergency situations, due to them still being a armed force.
Then there are Hostility, or Military, Sectors. Aside from the Generals(Led by High General Thel Valdamee), the highest ranking two sectors are the Assault sector, and the Aegis sector, both equal in rank and standing, and both collectively known as the Contingents Sector. The Contingents Sectors are where pilots of Assault and Aegis Contingents fall, and are usually Gregory's personal vanguard during times of war.

Arright, finally decided to post in this again, but not continueing their Gov. For now, fuck that, I has inspiration of something else.
You see, this time, I'll be delving a bit into their history! Dont worry, not THAT far back, and a specific time as well-In this, I shall detail a bit about what is known by the Mechera as the Convergence War, to you laypeople its the war that united the Mechera as a single Empire.
Before the war, there were four great nations of the planet Allchrestia. These nations, except one, were named not for great people or important events, rather for mundane things.
Alkor-The Merchants
Dekterra-The Imperials
Landora-The Innovators
Quite literally, that is what each of those words mean, in the dialect of Mechera spoken when they were Organic(it is a uncommon, but still used occasionally, language of theirs). The last of the four natins, Salkora, was named for a important figure in the dominant Religion of the Mechera, and as it can be inferred, this was a holy land to the Mechera. If you've read my ship list, you will notice these match the names of the Mechera Battleships; this is because they were named in respect for each of the Old Nations.
Alkor, the Merchants, was a capitalist state run by a merchants guild. There were times in its past where it was quite corrupt, but the guild by this time had stabilized to a point where all people were allowed freedom. In short, it was a free land where, if you had the money, contacts, and knowledge, you were free to pursue your own deams. In terms of landmass, it was a fairly large cou try, but survived only due to its wealth, for it had no military to speak of. Its destruction would be economic suicide for whoever would've attacked, that was its defense.
Then was Salkora, the holy land of the Mechera. A theocracy, its laws abided...

...By the Five Books of the Knight Salkor-The Book of Beginnings, The Dawn of Peace, The Art of War, The Laws of Honor, and The Curse of Cataclysm. Each one was, of course written by Salkor, a person akin to Jesus of Christianity of their religion, though he was by no means a god, child of one, or anything. He simply was a Knight who'd had a vision of their God, and spread the word(of course, as their religion says anyways). This is a story for another time, however. Unlike Alkor, many officials of this government were corrupt in ways as we know them, yet they were not unfair rulars. They did use their religious presence to coerce the other Nations into bending to their own will(such as extorting wealth from them) and keep their citizenry in line, but it was done, mostly, to make sure the teachings of Salkor were abided by throughout the planet. Indeed, they were rather...Illicit, in many non-governmental activities, and regularly indulged themselves, but they acknowledged that they were such. They didn't hide it when found out. Their jobs, as the head members of the Church, was to ensure their followers remained good, remained worthy of salvation. They understood that power corruptted, and that they were mere mortals. In a twisted sense, it was a form of self-sacrifice-They took the burden of leadership, the burden of corrupttion and potential damnation, upon themselves in order for their flock to remain worthy. They were corrupt, yet preached purity all their lives, down to their dying breaths. Statistically, it was larger than Alkor, but still a medium sized nation. It did have a armed force, but it was mostly ceremonial.
Next was Landora, the Innovators. Landora was a nation of learning, ruled by a elected official. Its people were intelligent and wise, many of them scientists in the fields of electronics, medicines, and physics. It should be noted that a vast majority were still devout believers of Salkor, as was most of the planet; simply-(cont again...)

...Because they were men and women of Science, did not mean they were heretics. In any case, they were the source of most technological breakthroughs and inventions made by their species. They did have departments for weapons research, but the nation was founded on the premise of learning, and freedom of knowledge, which weapons were though useful for defense first, then retalitory offense. Nothing else. And years of peace make such things mere fiction in the minds of people.
While there were elected officials in the government, they did actually very little; the laws of Landora were very ridgid, made specifically so to prevent the abuse of power in the government, which could possibly lead to the restriction of knowledge, freedom, or other such things. Only in the event of widespread catastrophe of war were these laws loosened to allow temporary change in order to maintain their survival. Elsewise, the government was largely a figurehead, or glorified police headquarters, since things mainly progressed the same legislatively, judicially, ect.
Out of the four Old Nations, Landoras was by far the smallest, at around the size of modern-day Canada(this may sound large, but recall that there's only four countries on this planet, which is roughly the same size as Earth with similar amount of landmass, making Landora very small indeed). However, it did have a trained, operational, prepared military force, equipped with the latest technologies that they could use. This did make them powerful, but ultimately they were still exceedingly tiny compared to the other countries.
More tomorrow prob'ly, 'cause I really need some sleep now an' stuff, plus Im running out of ideas right now. Prob'ly'll have some more tomorrow, especially concerning Dekterra and the actual Convergence War itself.

...I really need something to remind myself I have topics like this...Where was I about a year ago...OHRIGHT
Lastly out of the Old Nations was Dekterra, the Imperials. Despite the technological state of most of Allchrestia, Dekterra was culturally backwards and still operated on a largely feudal system of Lords, Peasants, and Kings. They were also very militaristic, and the nation was in fact the major reason that by this point in their species' history there were only four countries. In addition, because of how they conducted themselves, the lower classes often took up banditry in order to escape either poverty or a cruel Lord, leading to the army of Dekterra getting a lot of actual combat experience within their own borders. And make no mistake, these weren't small groups of brigands easily quashed by the superpower's military. These large bandit groups at times actually held territory comparable to that of a fully-fledged Marquis of the time, the greatest of these hordes being venerable revolutions that overtook citadels, razed metropolitan cities to the ground, and dethroned-or in some cases, beheaded- many a Lord. The fact that Dekterra's military prevailed against these odds and still had manpower left to keep the peace off of the battlefield was reason enough for their armed forces to be both respected and feared throughout their world. In terms of size, well, they owned half of Allchrestia. Dekterra was...Rather large, to say the least. And always hungered for more.
I'll hopefully have the Convergence War up tomorrow(lololol where have we heard this before, Hiro?), or possibly in just a bit later tonight. Mostly wanna make sure I have this all saved up before I work on something that long, and it'll probably have a different writing style anyhow.
