Someone remove all that code. Seriously!
-
This isnt really a suggestion, its more of a complaint. The Template is quite simple to understand for someone with BASIC HTML knowledge (Yes i know its not quite HTML but you get my point) If you have an actual suggestion for it, run it by us and we'll take a look at it. For now, stop complaining... You're on probation anyway.
-
Just use it with only the center stuff so that it does work in all browsers.
-
I understand it perfectly, but it's still really freaking annoying. I don't like that we have to use times new roman. It's to hard to read. It's no biggy, but it's really shrunken and overdone. Also the fact that half the things done in impact are all caps and some are only capitalized. Also it's to hard now to prevent skips between the paragraphs with the sloppily placed [*/list] icon. Hawk has a point.
-
Well, there was this suggestion in a past topic that never really got implemented..

Times new Roman is still there.
-
Be patient, my friends, soon you will not have to worry about pesky templates.
-
Why does that sound villainous to me?
-
I disagree about not having to use templates because it implies not needing to request characters before use. Down that way lies maddness...And we'll seriously need SOME form of template for 'em.
As for everyone complaining about the code...Just remove it from the template? You really dont NEED it, and we aren't gonna disapprove it just 'cause its missing the code. >>
-
I like templates: it makes it easier to flesh out the character. However it takes a lot more work removing all the unnecessary code than you give credit for.
-
Wait, where are you flushing your characters to? o.o
-
That's not what he means, Red. He means we might change from templates to forms that you just have to fill out and hit submit.
-
Isn't that still a template of a sort, just not on the forum proper?
And Nik, please read over your posts to prevent such things as that from happening. I am saying this as a friend...I believe you meant 'Flesh out', not 'flush out'.
As for removing the code, whats so hard about it? Just copy&paste the different fields individually to get it without code, then add the code you want later. More work, sure, but definately not HARD. Personally, the code doesn't bother me much at all, but I usually work on characters on the forum itself, not putting it on a document program or blah. Works for me, anyway.
-
Well, I've already said I wanted part of the code (namely impact and list stuff), but a simple copy and paste technique will eliminate it all.
Anyway, I'm liking K2's plan now.
Also, flesh it out? I had seriously always thought it was flush it out.
-
No...Flush it out would imply you are sending it to a watery grave through a toilet...Flesh it out is used when talking about characters, because your putting the figurative 'meat' onto the bones of the characters personality, background, ect.
-
Nik... you fool... Just.... *sighs* No. Just no. Youre going to flush out the character? That terminology would imply that youre getting rid of the character.... Just... Uugh...
-
I'd heard it in real life a lot, and everyone said flesh with a u sound rather than an a sound.
-
Thats probably simply a accent or some such. The proper term is to flesh the character/empire/whatever out.
