Atop of the First Battalion's rooftop, an escort transport ship touched down on the aeropad, and from it stepped out five guards, dressed in completely black -- Consul Guard agents -- all escorting Empty, who was led quickly inside. Soon after, a second transport arrived carrying General Korm.
-
They were led to a meeting room where The Mechera Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Supreme Commander Thel Valdamee' waiting.
"Take a seat gentlemen..." Thel orders. "Are you aware of why I have called you all here?"
-
After shaking hands and engaging in the formal greetings to the men, both men sat down, listening intently to what their associates had to say.
"I think we're all aware of the state of things, Supreme Commander," Empty replied.
-
"Alright then..." He started. "Yesterday, at 9pm Galactic Standard Time, FHMT (-5), the Narikian empire experienced an unusual event... one that we havent seen in about a year to date."
He walks over to a screen that displayed pictures of what happened, and raw data from the event. "Most of the Narikian citizens, as well as most of their leaders, left the Dimensional Plane classified as, The Shattered Planes." He paces back and forward. "So, this brings us to two topics to cover... The first one of course is to find out what happened."
-
"They went home," Empty replied casually, "The Narrakians left their ancestral home years ago after a great war..."
-
The door opened suddenly, the soft 'woosh' of air as it slid into the side wall and back as the figure rushed inside. "Ah, I do greatly apologize, I hope Im not TOO late am I? I was reading a few proposals from the current head of the Aegis Contingents about using certain alloys in the chassis, and I lost track of the time." Gregory said as he walked in. "I suppose I could've simply used the cybernetwork to project myself on the screen, but I've always believed it important to meet people in person. Anyways! What were you two talking about at the time?"
-
"We come to you today," Empty explained, "With a proposal... I assum you know of the events on Memorial?"
-
"Indeed..." Valdamee nods to him.
-
"Riiiiight...Yes, the disappearance, mostly willingly it would seem, of a population of Narrikian civilians?" Gregory said, taking a seat at the table.
-
"Indeed," Korm spoke up now, glancing at all present in the room. "A few of us Narrakians opted to stay behind. We wish to rebuild our empire anew, free from Mecharan occupation."
-
"A sensible plan." Gregory stated, nodding. "Of course, if you do secede, I will not stop you, but we cannot allow you to keep many of our technologies already integrated with your society. Many of them may be capable of reverse engineering to, at a later date, attack our empire...Even allies dont share everything, after all."
-
"Absolutely not!" Thel exclaims. "The Narikian empire needs us and as long as my men are under their oath of service, I will not stand for a secession."
-
"My good sir," Korm replied to the latter outburst, "As you are well aware, those of us left must now rebuild... the old government is gone. Most of us who remain were planning the reform, peacefully, of our people alongside your government. Frankly sir, most of the Narrikians loyal to your military have deserted their posts."
Empty looked up at Greggory with kinder eyes then his hardened Consul Guard associate. "Your majesty, we fully accept such terms. As you have come to know, the extent of our own technology runs deep. Our previous leaders have simply... been unable to utilize such tools."
-
OOC: bump
-
OOC:Guess I'll go, then.
"Thel, as I recall you instated a policy outlawing Narrikians from much more than grunts in the armed service...I must ask, what men? At the very least, none that cannot be easily replaced due to low ranks-No offense intended." Gregory said as he glanced to Empty and the Narrikian government members at the table. "Besides this...Due to the current state of affairs, I've noticed that there is a growing schism between the two Dominant Races of our Empire, Narrikian and Mechera. If something is not done, then I fear there may well be a open civil war, and while I admire the fighting spirit of the Narrikians, they are at most civilians with a few soldiers against massive armies due to the current position of the empire. I do not wish for such violence nor bloodshed to occur, and I especially wish not for such massive civilian casualties. As to the technological prowess of the Narrikians, I am well aware. Indeed, before the incidents occurred that led to the current Martial Law state, there were quite a few Narrikians I looked to in matters of technological invention."
-
Thel took in a deep breath adn sighed. "You seem to have your mind set on this your highness... "
-
"My mind is set on nothing. I simply want to prevent a colossal, pointless loss of life. If you have another means to pursue, then lets hear it."
-
"I can see of no strategic importance which will be presented to you from keeping us under your grasp," Empty replied, "The purpose of our occupation was to control the actions of our ever worsening leadership. That leadership is gone now."
