Faction Name: Suvian (Starclan)
Faction's Primary Race: Starclan
Faction Status: Disbanded, remnants incorporated by the Relorian Empire.
Brief Faction History:
The Starclan is an empire which began about 20,000 years ago. It officially collapsed after several downfalls in 2043, after about thirty years in a radical state. Once a powerful people, they are said to have been the builders of great cities (http://shatteredplanes.com/forum/index.php?board=17.0). They eventually died out after a great battle with various powerful regimes in an event which came to be known as the Black Crusades.
The ancient people of the Starclan formed from a tribe in the Glacian Valley (http://shatteredplanes.com/forum/index.php?board=740.0). The Suvian (Starclan) Tribe shared the Galcian Valley with a tribe called the Egallan Tribe. The two shared customs and traded, providing a friendly relationship for the two tribes. The two tribes both followed some kind of ancient moral code of sorts which dictated behavior of empires. The code was almost sacred to each tribe.
Following the Suvian Tribe's publishing of the Sakaiya Document (a new "moral code"), the Egallan Tribe ceased relationship with the Suvian Tribe due to their belief that this document broke the moral code they both followed. This cease of relationship would result in a war between the two tribes, also known as the Eter War. After several years of war, the Suvian Tribe decided to cut their losses and flee the Glacian Valley, leaving its entirety to the Egallan Tribe, which would result in the formation of the Eter Empire.
The Suvian people fled south of the valley to a nearby mountain range where they eventually settled. It was upon being visited by a Christian missionary that most of the population converted. Upon conversion, the Suvian people eventually came to the realization of the concept of dimensions. They began a quest to gain more information on this concept, and sent out people to research the concept. Eventually, they discovered evidence of the Guardians.
Upon discovering the Guardians existence, they began a series of experiments to reach another dimension.. Eventually, they succeeded.
The Starclan once were very powerful people, thousands of years ago. It is speculated that the Ancient Starclan was so powerful, they found away around the Dimension Defense System built by the Aralangs when the Guardians split into three parts. Thus, the Starclan was probably the first magic empire in the dimension that the game takes place. The Ancient Starclan took place in a great war of sorts thousands of years ago with the mortal empires. Obviously, the Starclan was victorious in the war.
The Great War was between several empires, such as the Ancients and the Twilight Empire. The war is believed to have taken a great deal of power out of the Starclan. As such, they were already significantly less powerful. However; The Starclan continued to advance in science and magic throughout the next thousands of years. Several artifacts lay witness today to their once great power.
Jeff Star was the primary ruler of the Starclan at the start of the roleplay. The Starclan, under his rule, was no longer the great, powerful empire they once were. However; the Starclan still held on to many things of their culture. The Starclan began to advance more in magic instead of science. The Starclan had great powers of being one with nature around them at this time.
The main weapon of the Starclan seems to have been dragons at this time. The Starclan communicated with dragons and the dragons assisted them in battle. The Starclan, however, under Jeff Star's rule, only attacked in self-defense. Jeff Star hardly ever led his forces to attack on the offense. For this; The Starclan's military power also greatly suffered.
The Starclan only had one homeworld at this time, known as StarWorld, later known as Planet Star. The culture on the planet seemed to share cultural references of the Islamic world. The planet was heavily under Starclan rule, and outsiders were usually shunned. It is perhaps this that led to the downfall of the Starclan all together.
Jeff Star's life came to an end sometime at or around the Excel Tournament, an event hosted by a sage named K2323. Both K2323 and his friend Emily Zzot were having a conversation on Planet Star, in front of some ruins, once a great palace, now only a brick wall. K2323 departed the scene after the conversation was finished, when Jeff Star came to investigate why two powerful sages were on the planet. Upon his arrival, he enraged Emily, leading to a dispute, in which Emily threw Jeff Star through the brick wall ruins, killing him..
Jeffrey Star's rule began after his father died at the hands of Emily. Jeffrey Star ruled for the longest of time in the radical Starclan era, and perhaps began the radical era. Jeffrey Star's rule brought a lot of changes to the Starclan. He advanced to the thrown with a military weak of military, science, and magic. He carried his father's reputation of a somewhat annoying person. In the end, his rule would result in the same fate.
Jeffrey Star advanced the Starclan military greatly. He began to Blade program, greatly improved strategic planning in the Starclan, and abolished some of the Ancient Starclan culture. His rule would bring about several new technologies. His military would proceed to almost kill leaders such as K2323. However; it was not until the year 2042 that the Starclan truly advanced.
Sometime in the decade between 2032 and 2042, a great number of things happened. The Starclan advanced to be a major empire (though not a member of The Alliance), and gained control of another planet (which was actually a moon) named Dragon Moon. The Starclan's advancements began to be applied after the return of the K Empire.
Starclan military became the subject of much hate. Three military forces developed to destroy the Starclan. These empires, ironically, all took the suffix "-clan". The empires were:
BlackClan
FreedomClan
and the RedClan.
Each empire had significant progress in slowing down the Starclan, though ultimately, none truly destroyed it. The RedClan War against the Starclan resulted in an almost death of the K Empire. However; the K Empire reversed the tides of war, and ultimately, the two decided on a sort of temporary peace. The Starclan and K Empire both had bought themselves another year or so of life..
The Triad was a short-lived merge between three empires, which the Starclan took part in. Following the Triad's disbanding, the Starclan went back to its former state, only now with significantly more military power.
Not many, besides the Starclan, knew of the war it fought against Bane. Many of the Starclan itself does not know of this war, as it was so small. Bane was a warlord of sorts. The Starclan, ultimately, killed him. This story-line is advanced in the Opposing Kingdoms Anime, though the over-all plot remains the same. In the anime, the plot states that the K Empire and The Alliance are attacking Dragon Moon, when James Star, son of the now late Jeffrey, has K2323 to forget the rivalry between the two nations and help destroy Bane, who has been brought in before the Starclan Council for execution. However; Bane escapes execution.
After Bane's execution, he attempts to take the Blade Academy on Dragon Moon. K2323 and Bane fight on Dragon Moon, and in the end, Bane flees. Bane has escaped Dragon Moon, but a new battle is coming.. The end for Bane is not yet here.
The K Empire and the Starclan put their differences beside each other and plan to capture Bane, when they learn he's fled to the Taichii Galaxy. The K Empire and Starclan send a vessel to find and capture Bane. The vessel does some recon and discovers Bane is the leader of the Taichii. To make things worse, the vessel sent to capture Bane looses power.. Ultimately, through a chain of events, the crew of the vessel ends up stranded on a mysterious planet in a Time-Dialation Field. Two weeks later (in reality, only twenty four hours for the crew), Alex, Bane's right-hand-man, saves the crew on the planet..
Bane releases new Krog Fighters and begin to create trouble all over the universe. The Starclan and the K Empire launch a joint-mission to destroy the main Krog Factory. The K Empire uses its AI weapon, Meta Hai, to help in the destruction.
This marks the end of the Taichii Empire, as the K Empire, Alliance, and Starclan bring about the fall of the Taichii. After the end of the Taichii, Bane is taken to Lawyercore for trial... Bringing the awakening of Xanacore, and the end of the War With Bane.
The K Empire and the Starclan allied in it's last months, following the defeat of Bane. Xanacore's vassal state of the K Empire did not. The vassal state gained blue prints of the Starclan's technology at some point in time, causing a rebellion among the Starclan people against the state. The Starclan launched an attack on the state, but it was thwarted, and diplomatic ties eventually re-strengthened.
In 2043, the official end of the Starclan as an empire came to be. Since 2042, a group of revolutionaries calling themselves th Sons of Plunder had been gaining power. Finally, in 2043, the Sons of Plunder launched a coup, with support from several empires. The Relorians took complete control of the government. For many months following the coup, the Starclan continued to try to launch counter-attacks, leading the opposing party of the Starclan to be known officially as the Rebel Starclan. Officially, all Starclan were granted citizenship of Reloria.
In the Galactic Empires, the Black Crusades were known as the revolt led by Xanacore's state of the K Empire, and later Xanacoria, against the rebel Starclan. Several empires took place in the crusades. As a result of the crusades, Planet Star was destroyed, and the entire Starclan was wiped out. What remained became the Army Of One, seemingly, though not much is known about this empire.
In the end, the Starclan was an empire doomed from the start. Due to an unfortunate war, the Starclan would ultimately end in execution as a bunch of rebels. Though the entire Star Family is now dead, the Army Of One seems to have originated from the Rebel Starclan before it was destroyed, and Reloria has many citizens which were once loyal to the Starclan.. Or maybe, there is another hope.. A survivor. Joseph Star. Now, Joseph recently coming out of hiding and has decided to reform the StarClan under his rule, though he is weak compared to his father, he will still try to lead the StarClan to a relatively good victory. He has recruited a man named John Timpani to serve as his royal bodyguard since John served his father, and his grandfather..... Only time will tell if the StarClan can be totally reformed. What has recently occured though is that an android programmed with the mind of Jeff Star has been awakened from his slumber by the fight between Kai and the Anrufe on Stariana. The Android seeking to find a suitable person to lead the group of sages, tideans and others that he has gathered will soon find a master and reform the StarClan with the aid of the master if all things go according to plans.
Survival?
A group is known to exist (or to have existed) somewhere today in the known universe, as Ancient Starclan. This tribe practices science and technology as the Ancient Starclan did, but lives completely withdrawn from the rest of the world and is very hostile.
