Title: Fioan Systems
Post by: King Jeebus on September 24, 2011, 06:38:38 PM
FIOS
The leading Fioan operating system, known for being hard to hack due to it's sandboxing system only allowing user approved intrusions to enter the main system. Infact, in many cases if something tries to hack it it uses the FIOS Takeover System noted below. By default the FIOS blocks scans unless otherwise approved.

FIOS Takeover System
The FIOS Takeover System is a powerful hacking system developed by the creators of FIOS. Instead of the usual method of hacking which opens backdoors in the system and allows an outside user to use native system the FIOS Takeover System forces itself over the target system and replaces it with a new copy of FIOS controlled by the user who kicked off the Takeover System.

Circle Gun
The Circle Gun is a recent Fioan invention which has most alchemical circles built into it's database. It eliminates the need to stop and draw the circle as it physically projects a circle.

Circle Gun approved.

FIOS: Er...Doesn't most hacking work by making the system think you ARE the user?

FIOS Takeover System:As for this, I'd say no unless you actually gain access into the system itself first. After all, you cant forcibly install anything unless the system already recognizes you as the administrator of it(or otherwise would be a user with permissions to do so).

It requires an injection first and foremost, the sandboxing stops any foreign entry from entering the main system.
And yes, you are right.
As for the Takeover system, it forces entry first then overwrites- In the same way that if I had access to your computer I could install a new OS without first needing to get your old one to recognize me

What's the limits of the Takeover system?

And for the OS, just so it's clear in the future. Is it based on binary or something else entirely out of this dimension? (In other words is it hackable in some million years or would one not even know where to start?)

Circle Gun approved.

FIOS is yes based in Binary, however if it were to take over something not using binary it would attempt to adapt the thing taken over into binary.

EDIT: Woops, sorry forgot to mention the takeover system.
Obviously it requires a connection be made regardless, the system can also be fought every step of the way during the takeover.
