Its was quite a rare event that the Embodiment of Insanity came out of New Dementia, where he lived as somewhat of a recluse, but today was very different. He had heard of this place before... The Barren Planet. Event that name got him excited and feeling good inside. This was truly a place where Insanity could thrive. These people would surely become his children, and he would embrace them with loving arms.
He strolled around a small village, which he believed to be a capitol, or at least a central hub. He was unescorted, even though his courts objected it. As he walked by the inhabitants, some began to burst into random laughter, and other began screaming. Insanity was a deadly virus.... Of course, he meant no harm to the people. He only wished to show them true life, and meaning in this Barren, forgotten world.
He walked over to a village elder and put down his black hood and asked him a simple question... "Do you believe in the powers of Insana, my child?" He spoke softly and almost hypnotically.
-
"It must be awful, Insana." A familiar, almost chiding voice echoed around the insane civilians and to Insana as in a dark puff of smoke the beautiful embodiment of space, Skye formed. She wore her black dress that gave the illusion of it almost being space. Her high level of power caused her to resist her fellow embodiments sway on the mind "You cannot be around most mortals without them falling to your... Charm"
-
He turns to her and greets her with a bright smile. "Thats usually why I stay in my own domain... I seem to fit in there." He says in a more playful tone of voice... Very rare for him. "You haven't came to visit me in my new home yet... I was beginning to think you didn't like me. The rest have forgotten about me and my existence..." His mood quickly switches to a sad, lonly one. "Ever since Dementia was destroyed, they all stopped caring... Even Eli forgot about me." He lowers his head, but perks it right back up as he switches back.
"Sorry to change like that... Comes with the territory. So, what are you doing here my love?"
-
The elderly person looked up, as if in shock at being spoken to. He seemed slightly frightened by the 'man', but quickly calmed down(or at least, seemed less scared). He had a rather ragged bear/mustache combo, and his eyes were bewildered. "Insana? Yeah, I think I've heard something about that. Its a religion of ghosts! Ghosts who want to steal all of our chickens, and give their blood to the great chupacabra god Arbacapuhc! They come to me once in the middle of the night, except when I looked at the clock it said it was 3 in the afternoon...Must've interfered wit' the space-time continuum, thats how they get ya, by disorientating you with your sense of time. Anyways, they demanded I give them all o' my candlewax, no doubt intending to use it in their villainous anti-chicken rituals, but I said 'No, I'll not be handing over my candles! I need them to cook me food, y'see!' And then they hit me on the head with a crowbar...Or was it a machete? Augh, either way, they hit me, and I was knocked stone-cold, and then you came along and woke me up to find I was mysteriously in a alleyway without any of me worldly possessions. Then she appeared-"At that, he began pointing at the other person that just appeared,"-and you two started talking. And then I finished my dialog, after two more sentences. Anyways, what can old Conpir'cy Jack do fer ya?"
-
"...Huh. I guess your power completely overwhelmed him." Skye muttered, floating gracefully nearer to the elderly man "Oh Insana you know how it is, must check on my domain" She smiled, tossling the old mans hair "While poor old Eli created the lot, I maintain. Rightly considering rallying my sister and filling the power vacuum myself."
-
"Hm... I guess so." he says as he casually walks over to Skye. "I may have not gotten the power over a larger power, but most dont realize how much power a simple state of mind can bring. Its like planting an idea in some one's head... It grows like a virus, consuming everything they do. Finally, it becomes their life... their reality." he says to her.
"I may have not gotten Time, or Creation, or Desteuction, or Emptiness, or Chaos, or Anarachy, or even Space..." he looks over to her. "...but I got something just as good. Something that has the power to rip all of those powers apart, thread by thread. Insanity." he says in an oddly calm voice. "But, enough about me. How have you been?"
-
"Busy as a worker bee" She giggled, floating quite aimlessly in a circle around her fellow embodiment "Sorry i've not visited in so long, the whole Plex threat deal had me in hiding for a while."
-
"I bet. Didn't ever get involved with Plex, but I heard some stuff went down and now some Time Guardian named Jay is the new Plex." He looks up into the gray sky, then back down to the Embodiment of Space. "You seem a little more playful today than usual. So I can only assume thing are getting better?"
-
"One of my sisters dogs anyway." Skye chimed in when Insana mentioned Time Guardians "Things are most definately getting better" She smiled as she twirled her finger at the sky and it cleared a little "For starters I dont have to hide from an inter-dimensional super being anymore." Her smile continued to play across her lips, truly she was cheerful for the first time in a long time "But look at me prattling on. Tell me, what were you doing before I interrupted?"
-
"Glad to hear it..." Another smile came across his face. "I was simply looking for those in need of the haven they so rightfully deserve... I came across this place, and I was hooked. This seemed like a breeding ground for the insane, depressed, lonely.. So, I was trying to find the leader of this place and offer them a place in New Dementia." He took a deep breath after saying that all in one breath. "Buuuut, I found a conspiracy theorist.... Great" He glances over to the old man. "Im still glad you did... I missed you."
-
The old man had been content to listen to their conversation a bit, waiting politely to see if they still needed anything. But at the mention of leader, he frowned. "Leader? What leader? Even I haven't heard nothin' about that, and I listen ta' everythin' and everyone around, even when they don' want me to. S'how I get my best theories, from piecing together the different pieces of the puzzles. An' from what I've heard, I dont think many of the people around here would be mighty appreciative to learn they've all of a sudden got a guy in command."
-
"Guess they don't have a leader. Not all so different to us now, hm?" The Embodiment of Space continued to float through the air, now looking at the sky pensively "Insana... I missed you too. I missed all of you."
-
"Well, I suppose I'll need to come back. Had i known they had no leader, I'd have been better prepared..." he glances up at the hole in the sky. "But, no matter... There is always a higher power." He brings his view down towards Skye and stops... As if he were staring at her.
He points in her direction. "That tower... I've seen it in pictures before. Vincent..." He starts laughing uncontrollably. "I should've fucking known.. only a planet this fucked up could be controlled by the Son of Destruction!" His laughing gets louder as the necromancers that occupied the planet joined in. The hole that was In the sky closed up, and the clouds turned black and started to rain purple rain... His true power was coming out.
The wind blew violently, and lightning flew across the sky. The harder and longer he laughed, the worse and worse it got. His insane infection was spreading from the city to the rest of the planet at an astonishing speed.
-
"INSANA!" Skye yelled, dropping onto her feet on the ground instead of floating and actively taking a step back "Calm yourself!"
-
"Oh, but why!?! I've found the home of one of the same people who forgot me!" He continued to laugh.
-
"Then take it up with the ONE who forgot you, most of these people are just innocents!" Her tone raised to that of authoritative, there were innocents being hurt here. This she would not allow, not from an old friend or anyone.
-
He stopped laughing, and the storm finally stopped. He looked at her with a confused look. "The rest of them just didn't understand... And they still don't." He falls to his knees and lowers his head. "And they never will."
-
Skye stepped forward and embraced her fellow embodiment in a tight hug.
"I understand." She sighed, holding him "Come, we should leave this place before it troubles you further."
-
"Please... Just get me out of here." He holds her as well. "Nothing but bad memories, and old history here... This is no place for Insana." He looks up at her.
-
Black smoke enveloped the two and as it dissipated they were both gone.
