I think the best thing to do is to shut down the IC parts of the chat to all but staff for awhile, live General Ta
Leave GT open

Hm?
wolfboy2323 10:01 pm
Come up with a time skip and new plot line
Jeebus 10:01 pm
Aye
wolfboy2323 10:01 pm
Figure out how long the skip is, etc
Then delete a lot of planets and start with a base of just a few once more
What do the staff think of this?
I mean, looking objectively... This may breathe life into the site.
-
So, are we going to make a new RP?
-
No no no, everything that has happened has happened. We just jump x amount of years into the future. Essentially some character goals are accomplished, some are dead some are blah blah blah then we bring in some good reason to rally the universe.
-
How about an ISAF invasion? They are theoretically the ultimate common enemy.
-
I'd rather decide on the period of time and if we're doing it before we start discussing what the draw back is but this is a definite option
-
Hmmmnnn...This could be problematic with some of the members...As a example, if, say, some planets were to be destroyed, the player cant really defend their own stuff, and besides that some of the RPers might not want things to go into a few years into the future and age their characters/have their goals explained away/ect. I wont completely discredit it, but all Im saying is not to use this without trying a few other things(like events, or something, Iunno) to get activity up, and if we do, we should at least see what the rest of the members think.
-
The fact is, we need something to to revitalize the want of the community to RP. Fresh plotlines do that. Time skips helped us considerably last time, and it would do the same here. Essentially planet request system would be up and allow people to easily narrate the result of the last x years. I understand your concern but I think this may be the best option personally, it would sort of bring a fresh new feeling to the RP.

At the very least give people a chance to kick some life into the forum first. I actually had a few ideas to kick up some trouble IC(mainly subterfuge on various empires, but I digress), but if we're just gonna timeskip anyways there's little point, after all.
-
Deleting the planets is a definite no. Taking them out of play or destroyed, sure. But NOT delete. We lost the second season of GE, we lost the second half of the OK and barely gained back the first half of OK along with the third season of GE. NO DELETIONS ON ANYTHING
-
And now to kick life back to the discussion.
Are we to come to the conclusion that there will be a timeskip?
If so, I suggest just after the P3C we have sorta a time of peace, maybe 20-30 years or so?
-
I still dont like the idea, but if Im outvoted Im outvoted. :/
-
We can have it a little later on if you want, really I feel that having a brief time of known peace would really benefit any huge stirring things up deal- Suddenly bad shit happens right after peace.
-
Well yeah, but it obviously doesn't work with some empires(the Lorcar, for example, although that could be explained as them going into a period similar to hibernation and nobody trying to bother them if it really comes down to it), although I dont think thats the reason I dont like it, or at least not entirely it. I mean, I like the idea of a known age of peace then suddenly PLOT!, but not all empires are really, well, peaceful to begin with. Plus, it does make everyone change their characters to accommodate a fairly sizable chunk of time just passing by and such. I'll admit not ALL characters would be affected that drastically, but some of the younger/nonmagical characters would(young characters would grow up, non-magic ones would get old/even older, ect, with only a few exceptions like the Mechera who kind of cant get old and things like that). Thats one of the reasons why I suggested earlier that if we DO agree on this, we should still get the opinion from the rest of the non-staff members, get their opinions on such.
-
Id be fine with it as long as we have consensus with the members, and after the P3C event.
-
Either way. I do see the flaws in the idea as well as the benefits. Regardless, some definite course of action is necessary.

Right

I say we ask them before voting.

Making poll now.
-
I vote yes for a later timeskip but no for right now.
Due to the fact there's character personal plots, regular plots, and other things going on that need to be wrapped up before it happens.
Such as Relle, she's right now looking for her father, until that's over it can't time skip or what do I say? Years later she found nothing and I have to add up wtf she was doing for however many years and why she decided to just quit looking?
That's only an example for my character, for others characters it could be the same deal.
-
We would not do the time skip for about a month so everyone can get their affairs in order.
