Title: The Landlocked Lighthouse
Post by: K2 on December 28, 2011, 09:12:33 PM
It was the most peculiar thing. Why would a lighthouse be sitting in the middle of nowhere, with only grass nearby for miles -- and no water what-so-ever? And why would it have a forted wall around it that resembled that of a military complex? It was abandoned, yes, and anyone could see it. But why had it ever existed to begin with?

Outside the tower's fortifications, in the dead of night, a doorway appeared. From the other side came K2323 and his two sons. They looked upon the tower in awe. Kaleb and Fiske's eyes were full of questions. They, too, wanted to know why this lighthouse existed. What was inside? What... What did it DO? It was the most... peculiar thing.

K2323, though, looked upon it with familiarity. He... he had been here before... And now, he was back.

Jay stepped out of the doorway, his cape fluttering.
"Well... How phallic" The Templar joked, nudging K2323 "So what can you tell me about this bigbad?"

Lucas came out, but carried a staff now. Gone were the robes he had worn replaced by a simple tunic, combat jeans and boots. The staff was not his first choice, but it would do for the time being. Lucas tapped it on the ground. The power he had by the time in the Epoch Circles had been diminished, but he would do his best to help out for as long as he could.  "I'll do my best to help."

"It's... It's where my mentor's girlfriend, someone who was like a mother to me... It's where she died," K2323 replied, "Along with thirty two other Guardians... And nobody ever found out why."

With this revelation, K2323 walked forward towards it, prepared for its legendary defenses. The moment he stepped too close, a barrier activated around the lighthouse, a thin, transparent, buzzing energy with a shade of blue erecting itself around the tower. Of course. K2323 sighed, creating several balls of energy and throwing them at the barrier in an attempt to weaken it. The sooner they got this over with, the better. Kaleb and Fiske quickly joined in at attacking the barrier..

Little to their knowledge, just five miles away, an army was preparing to move in on that very lighthouse. As that army got in formation for their attack, scheduled to begin in just half an hour, James Star was spat out of a portal.

"Well... Throwing Time at this ain't exactly gonna help any. This thing feels way to old to rewind" Jay chuckled as he instead began superspeeding the others' attacks into the barrier to maximize impact

Lucas pointed his staff out at the barrier, but did not attack. Instead he formed three sets of threads which shot forward at the barrier, connecting to it. When the threads connected, they would pump power into it but not that of his own power, no Lucas was smarter than that. It would instead be tapping power from all the Magi-Androids still in existence. In other words, Lucas would be using his staff as sort of a channeler instead.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Elsewhere, James looked at the forces. "Alright men, here is the plan. They've got a Templar among their ranks so we need to take him out of the equation first and foremost. Without him, they won?t be able to freeze us in time or worse. " James held out his staff, and charged up a massive beam of power but unlike normal beams this had a unique affect. It would on a molecular level cause whatever was hit to burn and to be turned into naught but ash should it hit.

"CADET! IN FORMATION!" a man in front of the forming army yelled, obviously the superior object. He motioned for James Star to stand at attention in line with the rest of the men before he looked in the distance... He could vaguely see the dark form of the lighthouse ahead... He had been told that he would know when the time was right to attack. That time... Had not passed yet.

At Tower 8, K2323 had stopped. He was thinking about something the man in the black cloak had said... You will find me at Tower 8 when the moon is at it's brightest. He looked up at the moon in the sky above. Unlike in the mortal dimension, the moon here was part of an elaborate spell. To be more precise, it was a source of power for witches and warlocks. While K2323 himself was a mage class sage, he knew a few of that sort... And he knew that they needed the light of the moon, as their external mediums -- wands, in most cases -- drew upon that light.

...Could it be...?

He held his hand up directly towards the moon and muttered an incantation.

"Enzeheihtegno eeth des ehzosborihtonge!"

The entire night sky started to shine brighter over Tower 8, the moonlight being channeled directly over the tower. As soon as this spell was in play, the barrier around the tower shut off. The large doors to the fortification swung open, revealing the entrance to the lighthouse itself. And in front of the lighthouse door, there was the man in the Anrufe cloak.... The man who had led K2323 here. The man with the cloaked face.

K2323 walked close to him, his sons following close behind.

"You brought friends," the man noted.

"Is that a problem?" K2323 replied.

"Not at all."

K2323 turned to the others. "Are you all ready?"

"I was born ready, brother" The Templar smirked, stepping forward beside K2323 "Totally cliche, I know."

Lucas examined the situation and when the barrier dissipated, deactivated the magic he had done. It was a slow walk he made over to where K2323 and the others were. Walking, not using his powers was something Lucas was not used to. But for the sake of conserving energy, until he got back up to full strength he would very well have to do just that. "I am prepared K2323."

Elsewhere, James fell into formation with the other men. But he began to scheme of his own plans, once this mission was done he would teleport away, remain alive and do whatever he darned please. He had his life back after all.  It could be quite useful for him to do such.

The commander could see flashes of light in the distance, near the lighthouse. So, this was the sign he had been told to wait for? That meant it was time to move in. It was time to attack an enemy at a complex so strong, nobody had dared go near it for centuries. This battle would not be easy, but it had to be fought in the name of unity.

"CHARGE!" the commander ordered, and the troops all began to rush towards the tower, enhancing speed with quick charms.

At the lighthouse, the man in dark looked at the attackers charging from the distance with mild amusement. "We best get inside," he advised.

He led the group inside the lighthouse as the defenses of Tower 8 once more rose... Inside the lighthouse, one would see that Tower 8 was actually not a lighthouse at all. It's inside dimensions seemed to defy the limits of the building they were in, making one wonder how such an inside could possibly exist. Of course, it was magic.. The first room they came upon was, infact... A lobby.

"Welcome," the man in black said, "To Tower 8."

"I'll take a Scotch and Soda if you're offerin'" Jay jested, nodding to the glamorous lobby "Very nice digs in any case."

Lucas would enter, and snap his fingers. What Jay had asked for would appear near him even though it would cost Lucas later some of his magic. Lucas was not young, was not getting any younger. This problem would be the last one he involved himself in before he retired from the public eye. "After this is over, I am retiring and letting the younger generation step up." James would see the barrier and decide to do a spell of his own. "Hold it. If I may be permitted Commander, I believe I can get us around this barrier."

"Hah, me too, kid," the man in the dark cloak replied to Lucas before looking around the room. "She should have met us here already."

"She?" K2323 replied, "Who?"

"She i-"

Suddenly, the entire room started to shake. It was a result of the barrier being attacked outside. The man in the cloak chuckled at the attempts to enter Tower 8 -- they knew not the secret. He was mildly impressed that K2323 had figured it out. But then, if he was everything he had heard this man would be, it wasn't really a surprise. Things were going to get bad soon.

---

Outside, the army stopped charging -- they had arrived at the Tower's entrance, but they couldn't get past the barrier. The commander looked upon James Star with eyes of interest. Could this little shrimp really get them past the barrier? It was worth a try, he figured.

"Shoot."

"Oh thanks man" Jay laughed, taking the drink "You know shockingly sometimes I consider that..." Just as he went to take just the slightest sip the tower shook, causing the drink to spill "...I...Urgh." He sighed, looking to the cloaked man "I tend to like the surprise but the cryptic crap's getting a little much. Why are we here?"

James concentrated and a silver aura surrounded him. His memories went back to one of the first lessons he had ever received, a quite useful. Silver Light shone out of his body and the memory came to the surface once more. "Yes, I remember now perfectly what needs to be done. Lunar Revelation!"  At that the moon would become full and would lower the barrier in the same fashion as K2323 had done, but it would not be the same power K2323 had used.

Lucas looked over at K2323. "Indeed, why have you brought us to the seeming middle of nowhere?"

"So whoever among you wants to can escape," the man replied simply. "I assumed K2323 t-"

At that moment, the barrier outside fell, and the troops began to pour into the tower. The cloaked man gestured for the smaller party to quickly follow him and he made a dash towards a staircase in the corner. At the top of the staircase, a very tall, closed door was standing bold. It opened as the man in black approached it, and he ran through, with K2323 and sons right behind him.

Jay sighed and followed "No no, I dont yet wanna leave it's just more that I kinda like to know why i'm h- Oh hang on." The Templar turned and held up a hand as a time dilation barrier formed behind them, this invisible barrier would slow progress through it at a rate of one hour to one second "Stall 'em a little."

Lucas looked at Jay and assumed a stern expression. "You go with K2323. I'l hold off the soldiers so that you all have a fighting chance. Remember my sacrifice that is made on this day." Lucas materialized on himself a suit of Grid Armor and also summoned a dozen blades which floated in the air around him ready to be used within moments to strike his foes. Around him as well also appeared a dozen or so of the Magi-Androids, all ready to obey his commands and assist him. Good thing he had left some in his lab for use later.

James stopped short of the barrier and asked the commander. "Do you mind if I make a suggestion?"

"Good luck," K2323 said, looking at Lucas, mildly amused before following through the doorway.

----

Even though time was being dialated against the soldiers, it felt perfectly natural to them, due to time being relative. But they could see something was wrong. One moment, it was as if the ones they had been chasing were in their sights, and the next... They were... Gone. What was happening? Their brains couldn't even process it.

"Go ahead," the commander replied.

Jay smiled as he handed Lucas his own cape "From the New Templar Order to commemorate a hero." The Templar walked on through the doorway and stood next to K2323, he was now without his trademark hat and cape and looked merely like a shirtless man wearing a bracer and a greatsword "It's actually kinda cold here" He jested

They were led into a dark hallway which seemed to be much like it belonged in a house. The moment they walked through, though, they would notice something very peculiar... The man in the dark cloak who had been in front of them... He was gone. K2323 couldn't even see the end of the hallway... It was so... So dark -- almost kind of creepy.

"WHERE DID THAT BASTARD GO!?" Fiske shouted.

K2323 sighed. "I don't know. But the reason I came here... Is to get answers. Someone wanted us... Or rather, me... To come here for some reason... To show me something. I'm going to go on ahead... Kaleb, Fiske. I want you two to go back to your mother. Tell her I will be back soon."

"B-"

"NOW!"

Silently, Kaleb and Fiske teleported away. K2323 turned to face Jay, a grin on his face. "You coming?"

"Let's face it, kinda a wasted effort to just fuck off here huh?" The Templar looked upon his friend eagerly "Might as well see it to the end." He muttered, taking a step forward.

OOC: Uhhh... That's sorta metagaming Hawk.

---

"Gentlemen," a voice called out to the two from within the darkness -- the voice of a girl, speaking softly, "Hold on tight. It's going to be a long ride."

K2323 could feel himself being pulled into the darkness... Further and further. No -- he was falling rapidly through that darkness -- frefalling with no apparent end in sight. He felt wind whipping around him. He tried to suspend his fall with magic, but to no avail... And so, he braced to hit the ground, knowing full well that he was probably about to facepla-

URPH!

K2323 looked up from the ground where he had just landed. He was... On grass -- a hill... And just a few yards in front of him were huge city walls, stretching up twenty feet into the air. He could see a very tall building, taller than the walls to this city -- a palace. He... He didn't understand what he was looking at. He didn't know what was going on.

But he could feel hundreds of magic signatures all around... And they all reeked of Genesis Magic.

(He wouldnt have noticed it, it's not something magical that you can just 'sense')
As the cape appeared next to Jay it literally just fluttered upwards as he fell, screaming profanities the whole way down. He hit the floor pretty hard but quickly jumped up and began looking around "What the hell man..."
Title: Re: The Landlocked Lighthouse

Even with the barrier that Jay had erected, Lucas could not afford to be careless. So he had come to the conclusion that it was time to give his androids their marching orders. "Androids, command code 001230183011831018310-S.  Authorization ? 31931u809`103218`10382101`4.   Initiate Formation 47-Q, Authorization Silver-1." Before Lucas said that, he did return Jay's cape with a teleportation spell.

When Lucas spoke those words his androids formed a defensive perimeter in front of him, but avoiding what Jay had made. So now what they would do was prepare for battle, and so each of them had a different weapon of energy from the MWCA built into them. But these androids were not your generic ones but each had a different look to them, some of them were male and some were female.

James looked at the commander and asked. "Is it weird that past where the soldiers went, someone is moving faster than us?"

"That... That man. He's going... A lot faster than us," the commander agreed as he kept walking towards the stairs, "We need t-"

He passed right through the edge of the time dialation barrier, his head pounding. He looked back to see his troops, practically suspended in motion, James included. What was going on? Why were they... Why were they not moving? He looked up the staircase and saw Lucas standing there. Had this man frozen his troops!? Was he the one that he had orders to detain?

"YOU, THERE! IDENTIFY YOURSELF!"
Title: Re: The Landlocked Lighthouse
Post by: Zero on January 01, 2012, 09:04:05 PM
Instead of identifying himself, Lucas held out his hand and made a massive fire ball above it which he lobbed at the general of these forces. These forces would not be allowed to hurt his friends K2323 or Jay and he would see to it they never did. Not now, and not in the future. So his attack of course would be one meant to destroy his enemies in one foul swoop. But see, this was not your ordinary fire ball as it had something else at the center of it. If someone, say the general were to try and take control they would get infected by a parasite that Lucas had found out about. One that fed off of magic. A small thing and one that would painfully drain every last bit of magic from the person.  Fortunately, heat made the creature dormant specifically the extreme heat of the fire ball.

A wall of water rose up in front of the general.
Title: Re: The Landlocked Lighthouse
Post by: Zero on January 06, 2012, 05:02:02 PM
The water hit the fire, which was far hotter than ordinary flames. Still, it did put out the flame and so the parasite went at the general, in an attempt to devour his magical signature. Seeing as how the general was the one actively using magic and Lucas was not, this did not bode well for the general. The parasite looked sort of like a centipede from earth except with more jagged spikes. It also had more teeth and each of the legs was barbed and contained a poison that would block the ability to use magic. The parasite was one that Lucas had come up with and created on his own, a creature of magic but also one meant to eliminate ones who could use magic.  Fortunately, the creature could not sense Lucas as Lucas had purposely suppressed his signature to as low as he possibly could get. The creature devoured the magic used to make the water, causing it to fade into non-existence and then rushed at the general. Lucas sighed.

Post by: K2 on January 07, 2012, 01:27:31 PM
"DIE YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" the General yelled at the top of his lungs, throwing fire ball after fire ball -- not at the parasite -- but directly at Lucas. It was black fire. It began to engulf Lucas entirely. The General jerked out of the path of the parasite and rushed towards Lucas, his hand outstretched and lit with red energy. He was going to kill this motherfucker.
Title: Re: The Landlocked Lighthouse
Post by: Zero on January 07, 2012, 01:31:09 PM
But when he fired the black fire, Lucas held out his hand and a wall of portals opened. These would absorb the black fire, and open up right behind the General coating him with his own attack. This would of course make the parasite come at him even faster. The Parasite shifted directiopn and headed not at Lucas, but at the general. See, Lucas was playing it smart. He was keeping his magic weaker for the most part than that of the General. It would mean of course he would be at a dis-advantage should the general have backup.  "How about no?"
Title: Re: The Landlocked Lighthouse
Post by: K2 on January 07, 2012, 02:13:10 PM
But the general's form itself became another portal which outputted right behind Lucas. Both the parasite and fire went through the portal, and was being directed right at Lucas, and he couldn't control either now.
Title: Re: The Landlocked Lighthouse
Post by: Zero on January 07, 2012, 02:19:02 PM
But when the portal opened behind him Lucas just disappeared. As if he had switched places with one of his androids that had went to another part of the tower. The parasite could not burrow into the android and so ignored it. It turned it?s attention instead to the black fire and consumed the magic of it, growing in size now to the size of a house. The parasite then rushed at the General once more. Lucas was elsewhere in the facility, headed towards the containment.

But by now, it was too late... The general was gone. The entire tower was going up in flames now. Something had caught fire, and it was spreading, burning. It had no target, it was simply black fire, wild. It was burning, and would soon engulf everything within the tower.

Lucas turned himself into white water, extinguishing the flames entirely at the cost of his own life. James quickly teleported away.
