Insana appeared once more in a lone ballroom floating in no-man's space. He had done this every day at the same time for the past 8 years waiting for his only love to greet him once more. Ever since the large outbreak of wars, and the destruction of peace 8 years ago, he had been busy. Soldiers were going insane from the terrors and stress of war, and he was more than happy to greet them. Yet, as busy as he was, he had a compulsion. No one around him, save for Tera, knew why he always left at the same time every day, and came back exactly an hour after.
"Day 2552..." he muttered to himself as he sat by himself on the dance floor. "Where are you Skye..." he asks as he looks up into space and at the distant stars.
-
As if perfectly on cue the familiar clack, clack, clack of women's heels rang through the ballroom as music once more began to play "Oh Insana..." The sound of the heels stopped abruptly "It is truly beautiful that you would wait for me." Skye was floating high in the room, her hand outstretched to Insana "I always thought that patience wasn't a strongpoint for what you embodied"
-
His eyes lit up at the sound of her voice. "Only for you,my lady..." he answers her as he takes her hand.
"Its been a long couple of years, hasnt it? Yet, this old place looks the same as when we made it."
-
"Ah i've sadly been busy" Skye gave a smile which seemed almost sad, it was clear a lot was on her mind "I do so apologise for keeping you waiting."
-
"It's well worth it to see you again..." He holds her hands in his. He looks at her and frowns. "Is everything alright?"
-
"It's..." Skye sighed but then look into Insana's eyes "Nothing dear. Merely dust in my domain." She smiled "All of the destruction has taken some toll on me."
-
"It'll all be over soon... they cannot fight forever." he reassures her and holds her close. He looks around at the seemingly peaceful ball room and up at the stars.
"This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang, but with a whimper." he mumbles to himself.
-
"Ah so really the world ends with you" Skye smiled as she twirled away from Insana, still floating in mid-air "They'll be done soon enough... With Lord Eli gone though it seems as if we still need someone to look after the mortals"
-
"T. S. Elliot actually... " he releases her as she twirls away. "And if you're implying that i should do it, you've got the wrong guy... i mean, i should be maybe last in line." he stops himself from rambling. "But, you are right... Eli is gone, North is in Chaos with their leader, and things seems like its about to hit the device called THE FAN." he widens his eyes.
-
Skye stopped for a moment before appearing right infront of Insana again in a puff of black smoke "Oh well, hm?" She smiled taking his hands "Might as well watch it all crash down around us"
-
Insana remained steady as she had appeared in front of him once more. As she took his hands, he leaned in closer. "The plane may be going to Hell, but we still, and always will, have this place. It seems almost surreal when you consider the chaos everywhere else."
"Its just so funny... Everywhere else is in Chaos, but I couldn't care less when im here... with you."
-
Le bump.
-
"You're so lucky" She smiled, looking into Insanas eyes "I can feel every explosion, every death as it all happens." She sighed and looked down "It is truly the downside of my aspect"
-
He wraps his arms around her slender frame and hugs her. "If I could take the burden of your pain, I would. No one should have to feel every shock or death that occurs in war or peace." He looks down at her.
"There will be no more sadness, no more anger, no more envy, for I have seen the future, and I have learned." He silently mutters to himself. Just as Skye felt every death, Insana felt the insanity, and pain of the crazy. As a result, his seemingly semi-sane manner rapidly decrease.
-
"I learned to deal with it long ago, Insana" Skye smiled as she kissed him on the cheek "I have been protecting my Sister these past years, i'll be rallying our brethren soon enough."
-
"Even so, it pains me to know..." He looks down at her. He naturally had a hard time hiding his emotions. Mainly due to the fact that his eyes changed color, and his sword would emit an aura of color matching his eyes. He looked down to see his sword glowing pink, and swiftly discarded it behind him.
The sword, being bound to him, swiftly came back and slammed into him, moving him forward slightly. He clenched his teeth with nervousness, as his eyes changed color as well, marching that of his sword.
No, no, no! She can't know! She's the embodiment of SPACE, for gods sake. You're just a madman! You couldnt have her now, or ever.. He thought to himself.
He takes a deep breath, and slowly releases his grasp on her. "Im sure that you'll succeed in rallying them."
-
She smiled once more as she brushed a stray strand of hair from her face "I doubt it, we're a bit of a chaotic bunch" Skye laughed "Even Eli couldn't ever rally them properly"
-
"As chaotic as we are, we've been known to congregate when the time comes. Now as for getting anything done..." He pauses and laughs. "... We're not so good. I usually try not to bother myself with the meeting, seeing as no one listens to the madman." He uses his fingers as quotations when he said madman.
"That one, eight years ago, was a once in a couple thousand years thing... But, that's just me."
-
Skye took Insana's hand "My dear..." She sighed, looking to the floor 10 ft below her "I missed you. I do so apologize for not visiting sooner."
-
The aura from the sword began to expand. "Its quite alright, Skye. Compared to how long we'be both lived, 8 years may as well be a second." He tries to reassure her that it was fine, but in actuality, every second irked at him.
"Trust me. It's alright. Besides, it wasn't like I was completely alone. I still had Tera to talk to, well, listen to anyways." He smirked.
-
Skye did begin to note the sword, though she had no idea on what it did or how it worked "Uhm.. Insana?" She laughed a little "I'm sure the blade is very powerful but a pink aura truly doesn't suit you."
-
He began to get nervous again. "Uh, well, its, uh..." He paused and discarded it once more. "Sorry, it gets like that when there is a strong emotional energy around. I swear it has a mind of its ow...." The sword, still in its sheath, came back once more, hitting him with more force, pushing him into Skye.
"Damn blade.." he muttered and rubbed his head.
-
"Emotional energy?" Skye smiled to Insana, catching him the best she could "And what does pink represent?"
-
His eyes grew wide. "Pink?" he asked nervously. His eyes shifted around, while trying to think of a lie, but he saw the aura creep down, go under and behind Skye and make a heart. It was either taunting him, or trying to motivate him. "It represents..." He took a deep breath. "I cant believe that I'm saying this..." He took in one more breath. "Love." he said in an almost whisper. He took a step back, and turned away.
-
Without warning Skye was directly infront of Insana again... And this time kissed him.
"I... I will be back, my dear."
Her voice echoed as she faded away again right after.
-
He simply stood there, stunned. "Did I, did she?" He attempts to make sense of it. After a few minutes, he came to the realization of what happened. "You..." He points to his sword. "I will personally take you back to the pits of hell where you came from, if this blows up in my face." He put his hand on his forehead. "Great, now I'm threateningly a sword... How bad am i?"
"A sword that can talk mind you." A playful, almost demonic voice replied to him from the sword. Insana simply rolled his eyes at it, and laid on the ground next to it.
