Coming out of FTL was the bi-monthly arrival Marid merchant ships. These frigates were merely Simo class vessels re-purposed for trade. Since the events of eight years ago, the Marid Collective had established trading rights with the refugees who decided to make a life here on Inarin. The Marid mainly traded in fine pieces of Marid water Color paintings, and the craftsmanship without peer of Marid jewelry.
For the longest time, the Marid trade for refugees unneeded junk, allowing them to prosper, now the Marid made a profit, while the refugee desired Marid's fine wares. The jewelry seemed to symbolized a sense of comfort not found in any other bobbles and works of art. To these people the Marid had been there asking nothing of them in their greatest moment of need.
On the Flagship of this small Merchant Fleet was a messenger for Jay, baring a gift from one of the elusive parent gems and in addition an invitation from Chancellor Salahiem.
<Marid Trade Fleet requesting permission to approach and land.>
-
The Marid received a message back with a simple Feel free guys
-
As the fleet landed, the various Marid merchants made their way to their stalls to sell their wares. A number of Marid on leave had also come her for vacation, getting away from hard day in day out word of the Homeworld.
the messenger found his way to the Citadel, requesting an audience with Jay. Beside him were to Merchant Marid, carrying their wares in the cloak their illusion human forms wore.
-
The marid that were before the Citadel were greeted by a tired looking Jay Stryder as he appeared before them, almost as if he had always been there "Hey guys" The Templar Elder smiled to his guests, man today was a busy day.
-
The two merchants that flanks the messenger spilled a circle of water around the group of them, including the elder Templar. In a mere moment, it sprang into an ornate tent, that seemed to keep out unwanted listener from sensing inside it. The merchant then took a knee, as he as the Marid almost always show themselves, in human form. The Messenger spoke formally.
"Elder Templar Jay, I have brought before you today, a message from Chancellor Salahiem. In addition, I have been instructed to give to you a trust and a gift from a admirer that requested to remain anonymous. first... the trust."
The messanger dissolved into a strange pillar of water, set on top of it was a bright jewel. From seeming the jewel itself, the messanger spoke, "This is our true form... a secret for you alone. Now the message and the gift."
The merchants both resented to Jay a letter with Salahiem's seal, and a sharp piece of art, in the form of a black dagger.
-
"Well.. That's kinda cool" Jay commented as the Marid entered his true form as he opened the letter "Thanks for comin' all this way."
-
The letter read:
Templar Elder Jay,
You are invite to tea on the Marid Colony A with Chancellor Salahiem.
-
"Well that's just nice ain't it" Jay smiled to the Marid "Doesn't say when though. Do I just show up or...?"
-
The messenger spoke again, "The letter will glow when the tea is read, and will provide the teleport coordinates"
-
"Don'tcha just love magic huh guys?" The Elder jested, he almost never managed to get at least a chuckle from these guys "Aight well if i'm gonna be any good I really gotta re-" Jay was once again interrupted by the Citadel booming in his head Elder, you have more visitors "Man this'd better be a joke." Jay sighed "Could you guys excuse me a sec, i'm real sorry."
-
The Marid lowered the walls after the messenger returned to humanoid form. The need for privacy gone. The Messenger excused himself and his two merchants left. Thanking the Elder for the audience with him, formally leaving.
-
Jay smiled and waved to the Marid "Have a nice day guys..." He chuckled before disappearing, reappearing before his last set of visitors.
