Title: apologies for the db issue

I apologize for not noticing that issue before dozing off for the night. As far as I knew, all systems had been shutdown properly, and there should have been no issues.

MAJOR SECURITY RISK:
You have not removed repair_settings.php!

Definitely not my end.
The db problem was not related to SMF

Sorry, I thought it was a problem on our side as it said "smf_sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired" as the error. So I used REPAIR smf_sessions and it got to the error that was showing when you fixed it. I uploaded repair_settings to see wtf was going on before IMing Danp. Deleted now.
