In the midst of a small planetary system, uninhabitable by most beings, a small asteroid belt circled its center of orbit, a red giant. The giant was close enough that the radiation it excreted would be deadly to anyone on the asteroid field... if you didnt have proper radiation shielding. In a small, hollowed out ship-asteroid, teleported the Pirate Queen in Rags, Lady Corvis along with Jarrik, her friend and fellow pirate lord.
She teleported them into the command centre and proceeded to produce a bottle of rum out of thin air, only to hurl it into the wall in frustration. As the bottle shattered and the brown liquid made its way down the steel walls, she sat in her command chair and staired at the galaxy map silently. On the map, the Talar belt's bleeping blue signal turned red and died.
"Dammit." She murmured/
-
Jarrek simply stood in silence, his eyes transfixed to the wall just as they'd been when he was gazing out at the battle for several seconds, before he turned towards the terminal and input a few commands to it. The remainder of the Wolf Pack Pirates((and before anyone says anything, the Wolf Pack never sent out all of their ships or members, they'd have still left enough to keep the group itself alive if they needed to run. I said they sent out ships, never said all of them)) were able to teleport from what was left of the main base to just outside this asteroid, with their radiation shielding online, horribly damaged by the strike as they were. It would do to protect them, however. Jarrek simply went to a wall himself, and looked down into his hands. "Our...Home...That was the last place that the Wolf Pack...The remnants of my species...ever had for a home. Hundreds of thousands of years...And then, some empire we've never even attacked were the ones who mindlessly slaughtered us, never even asked for a parlay or made any demands..." He looked around the base, seeing Will come in as well.
"Damnit, Rychart...You'd better not die...I cannot...WILL NOT...Lose any more of my friends this day..."
-
Corvis's eyes flicked towards him as she stood, eyes blazing with anger, with passion, with hate. She slowly took steps towards Jarrik, and placed a hand on his shoulder, her eyes softening slightly as she cast them downwards. "Let the your members abourd, they'll need good beds, food and drink tonight, Jarrik." She said softly, shaking her head. "But Jarrik, we will survive, if you know me and if I know you... we're tough old bastards." She says, letting the hint of a smile grace her face.
"We just need to... to regroup and find out who did this... and find some way to get back at them..." She said, ignoring Atlas briefly. 'Will... We had those! We had defenses! We had ships! Adding more people to the slaughter would just have meant more friend's lost in the next round!" She sighed. "But maybe we do need help..."
-
Jarrek nodded, and gave the order for the ships to enter the docks, and to offload their crew. He stayed silent for a moment, before responding with,"Atlas is right, we will need help. Im doubtful that many of the other pirate bands that did not already join us will lend aid, but Im sure there are a few who will, maybe. There has to be. But...For now, we must wait for our last allies, the Zealots, and even after they come back, we must give all of us time to rest our weary souls after that battle, to mourn our lost. But...I have before been in a situation where my people were reduced to a fraction of their former size. We rebuilt, we remade..." And at this, his expression turned darker than it was,"...We ripped the aggressors to shreds. And I've not just my loyal crew with me, this time. Talar was my home, my people's haven, which we shared with our allies, and I WILL see it returned to us. And I will also see those who did this to us beg for mercy...Just as the first aggressors did." He turned to leave, in order to tend to his crew, and see how they were doing. But before he left the room, he said,"Corvis, Atlas...Thank you for your kindness. There must be survivors of your crew, somewhere, who escaped. Find them all on the command console. Now, more than ever, they will need your guidance."
-
Corvis bit the inside of her cheek and nodded, turning away and putting her attention to the command console, tapping in several commands until eighteen blue blips appeared, blinking and scattered. "Well, there is some good news... At least a few are alive..." She says, keying in the command for them to return to the base before turning around. "Jarrek..." She begins, following him. "The Talar belt is... well, the astronomical charts say that its almost completely destroyed..." She mutters, showing him the blips.
-
"Be that as it may, Talar sheltered my people when they had nowhere else to go. To simply abandon it to the people who ravaged it for...I dont even know why. I cannot allow that to remain the current state of Talar, occupied by these invaders. Even if its space will serve as nothing more than a grave marker, a memorial to those lost...It is something that I must do, my duty to carry out." He said to her, still walking. "When Rychart and his Zealots make it here...Let me know, would you?"
To Atlas, he said simply,"If there are any strings attached, I would know of them before any decision would be made."
-
Corvis bit back her muttered thoughts If they get back that is... And simply nodded. "Can do." She said, rubbing her arm and walking back over to the command console, sending out remote signals to the Zealots to see if they were still alive.
-
Will would consider the words he would speak carefully. There was only one string Lucien would attach and Will knew the pirates would not like that. "Well, there is likely only one string. Lucien would demand that he be allowed to help crush these enemies. Probably for some personal reason or something maybe just to help us out. Or he might demand being our only supplier for a few months or something. Not sure what he would put on there as strings, since it has been eight years. Will then prepared to dial Lucien's number and see if he would help.
-
OOC: Quick thing Hawkeye, from what I read you teleported back to Talar. So...
Will had brought to their escape, a menace. Burning at his clothes themselves, Will brought Bio-Fire to this place, it exploded into a fury with a lfie of its own as it burned the floor into a fire unto itself. A raging inferno would be burning like a panther laying in wait in just a few moments.
-
In a puff of purple smoke, Rychart appeared in a torn up uniform with some burn marks on it... His hair was a mess, and he. Looked. Pissed. "Miss me?"
-
"Er, Jarrek..." Corvis called. "Rychart made it." She called through the commlinks. "And he looks like he's ready to rip the bulkheads off."
-
OOC: Quick thing Hawkeye, from what I read you teleported back to Talar. So...

OOC:This is stalled/Nulled until/unless Hawk's character actually does get to teleporting here IC(while, of course, still on Fire). If he ends up not actually getting here, then it'll require a bit of a rewrite for the topic, but either way.
Jarrek breathed a sigh of relief, and headed back to them. "Yes, friend, we did. Im glad to see your safe, if not well."
-
OOC: So,Hawk never came back... Act like it never happened? Sure.
"We may not be safe for much longer with all the ships coming here." Corvis pointed out grimly. "We should find another base, this is only equipped for minimal comfort and defense... Its mostly a command location."
-
Rychart stoop silent. His eyes were set on the nearest Lord, Lady Corvis. He took about 2 steps forward, and finally cringed in pain as he collapsed, revealing a large piece of metal stuck in his upper back. When the clubbed jumped in the station, it tore apart a lot of the control room.
Blood was pouring out of his wound as he tried to speak, but failed.
-
Jarret's heart sunk, and his face held terror. "RYCHART!" He yelled, before looking around the area for a medical kit. While he was looking, he pressed the station Intercom, yelling through it,"WOLF PACK, FIND A MEDIC, GET THEM TO THE COMMAND ROOM! RYCHART IS HURT!" He then went back to looking, asking Corvus,"Where is the med-bay on this station!?"
-
The large piece of metal out of Rycharts back had brought something dangerous to this station. A small amount of Holy Bio-Fire burned away at it, as it made Holy Metal Fire. It was spreading and would engulf Rychart and anyone near him quickly. Left unchecked the Holy Bio-Fire would just with purpose onto anyone living in the room.
-
OOC: Okay, come on, Cap, thats just cheap. Seriously? How the hell does that even transfer like that?!
-
Ooc- no the fire was only in the hamgar which was jumped away with the clubbed. So bullshit on that.
-
As the hostile magic was detected, a AM field was immediately activated, de-converting all magic in the fire and turning it back into a normal, easily put out fire.
OOC:Assuming, of course, the Fire ends up having traveled here at all, the above happens.
-
OOC: No it was place everywhere in the hangar, it would have spread to the Clubbed and would have been inside it anyway. Just deal with the fire, again I do not care if it kills anyone or not, but I am not going to fully RP out the spell with just Hawk, that would be unfair to him. Just be smarter. But if your solution doesn't work... it doesn't work. Oh, and Red... its encapsulate with spirit energy.
The Fire was encapsulated with spirit energy, the AM field did not stop the fire as it continued to burn away at the metal.
-
OOC:This was never posted, and as far as I know, your character does not know this method; its not a innate phoenix ability. Hik herself has said that only a few specific characters have this, who were taught by IC!Hilary.
-
OOC: THat and the fact that when I tried a similar method without spirit energy she brought down the site...
-
Ooc- and also, you said Hangar. Unless that shit can burn through the entire station faster then the speed of lighr, then it wouldn't have reached the control room.
-
Whole hangar, and SliphxKurai is canon. She told him over the past 8 years, already talked it over with Hik. Also, its a web of Holy Bio-Fire, meaning anything in the hangar would have been hit by it. And I did post that it was encapsulated.
-
OOC:Hm, hadn't seen that. However, the Clubbed to Death is a capital/super capital-class ship. L-Rage's point is still valid, since you DID say it was within the hanger, not the ship itself. It would need to burn insanely fast to have gotten to the control room within the ship before when L-Rage had fled.
-
OOC: Sliph knows the technique
-
OOC:...Okay, fine, but that still doesnt leave enough time for it to burn through an entire capitol/super capitol vessel and everything...
-
OOC: What part of web over everything in the hangar do you not understand? The entire outer hull of the Clubbed would be hit and burned through thanks to metal fire.
-
But it would not have instantaneously been burned through! It still would've taken time. It doesnt mean that he would be on fire as well!
-
OOC:The issue is not that the Clubbed to Death was on fire. The issue is that the fire would not have reached Rychart by the time he teleported to the station.
-
Ooc- Rychart wasn't on the Clubbed. He was in the stations control room, which was on the other side of the station.
-
OOC: Let me put it this way, the station went boom from MDD and the fire already in the hangar, its kinda like shrapnel. Even if its didn't spread, its no cumbersome task for my character to make a small spark on it as you leave.
-
OOC:The point is you didn't, Cap. Rychart has already got away, and you've posted after that not mentioning anything. In addition, you said nothing after his escape. Rychart has already gotten away, its over.
-
OOC: Fair enough.
There is a rat Rychart's shoulder, where it came from no one knows.
-
Ooc- Troll mouse? XD
Rychart angrily reached up and grabbed the rat by its neck, and squeezed as hard as he could to try to ease the pain. "God... Damnit..." He says chokingly..
-
Corvis teleported the mouse into the sun and began to treat Rychart's injuries, removing the medal, cleansing his wound and magically knitting together the tissues and muscles.
-
The mouse seemed squishy like water, as it teleported into the sun it evaporated. So, out of a small cup a fly emerged. It would be unclear if it was there before or it came from the cup. However, it did not buzz. Additionally, it flew into a vent, attempting to remain undetected. There was no magic to this.
-
OOC- the mouse thing was fine, but now youre just trolling. Get out of our topic.
-
OOC- the mouse thing was fine, but now youre just trolling. Get out of our topic.
OOC: Actually, no I am not. Nor am I going to explain what is going on. Should K2, Hikaru, or Jeebus ask I'll explain. But, all I am going to say is "Know your enemy and know yourself."
-
OOC:I know what your doing Cap, and my question is this:As you've posted nothing of them getting on the ships, how are they here?
-
OOC: Care to enlighten me Hiro?
-
OOC: you're pirates. I need no more explaining than that.
-
OOC:We've never plundered Marid Vessels yet, Cap. Besides that, you cannot leave it assumed you've already successfully infiltrated them, as it was never done IC before.
-
OOC: Well, you had to of plundred something in the past eiight years. Considering that IC the only activly trading convoys are Marid Collective. So good job escaping one faction, only to get in the line of sight of another. This is the Marid Collectives attempt to infiltrait them. Unless of coarse they are not pirates and thus not raiding thee only faction that travels to trade with other empires during war times. Oh and posting on a nook.
-
OOC: Youre not the only faction that travels and trades with one another. In fact, the pirates have pretty much attacked Zarethian, Mechera, Ferrari, Narrikian and K Empire fleets and those fairly rarely as is because of the rather large escorts often provided. You dont control our characters or their actions, please don't assume we've attacked you. We havent. And you saunter in and take out pirates who dont do much of anything. Honestly, have they even attacked anyone in a topic? No. They've always been attacked. We havent attacked the Marid so take your spy fly and your damn rats and leave the topic because you haven't been able to legitimately get in this place.
We've teleported away several times in order to get here, the ships are down in a different section of the hull and not even close to the command center. There is no way you'd be able to get someone to infiltrate this area.
-
OOC:Only active traders? Dude, Mechera/Zarethian/Ferrarian for one. They're allied. They would trade. Lease, Mechera also have ties to the New Narrikian Empire and to the Relorians, neither of whom you've infiltrated either I should think(not IC anyway). I believe the Zarethians also have friends in other empires, but even if they didn't their own empire is large enough that it'd have supply lines, not even trade lines just resupplying each colony. If anything, the Mechera/Zarethian/Ferarrian alliance would be lucrative enough not to need to pirate others. This is of course just my own thoughts, if any of the others want to have pirated your vessels during the timeskip that's their choice. But as these factions are ours, it isn't yours.
And that's fine, I'm using a Droid to post. Auto-Spellcheck is a bastard when trying to use my custom words for my factions and the like. XD
Edit:Dargit Zak, ye ninja'd me. :P But yeah, really the same points.
-
OOC: Because the Marid never traded with the K Empire /sarcasm.So unless you have no jewelry, yes you do have Marid spies in your treasures or even a wedding ring of some npc pirate. Also I never IC stated where it came from. For all you know it just came. Post IC, ooc is pointless and annoying. There is eight years of raiding to be accounted for.
-
OOC:Narrikian. Not K. At least, Mechera've no ties to the K Empire, nor the Ferrarians(just asked Orga right now), though I can't say for Zarethians. And its not pointless, Cap, because you HAVE no means to be here. They're our factions, not yours, and for all you know the pirates inspect all gemstones and jewlery and destroy those that they don't recognize(IE, Maris Gems). Or they keep the plundered cargo sealed down to prevent crewmembers from stealing any of what they need to sell. It's not your choice, its ours.
-
OOC: In other words all those assumptions you're making that allow you to continue trolling us ICly are not your decisions to make. If we wanted to say the pirates walked around in go-go dance boots while they attacked the Narrikian shipping lines that is our decision to make. However, if you were to make that assumption without us saying so then you'd be out of line and have no basis. You say you dont care with the pirates, if that was true you wouldnt be trolling. SO once again, please just go and let us lick our wounds/ develop our characters some more.
-
OOC: Again, not trolling. However, I prefer to always have a fix on whoever I was just trying to kill. But whatever. Continue your topic, had you just ignored it that would had been my last post.
-
OOC: Continously posting that "Oh, hey, looky here, something unexplained happens! It couldnt possibly be a spy!" doesnt count as trolling? Grah, whatever.
Lady Corvis continued to rebuild Rychart's body, pulling pieces of metal out and healing burns all the like. "Well, you're lucky Rychart." She muttered. "It missed your spinal column and it didnt hit anything vital."
-
He laughs and he lies on the ground next to her. "You never did have a good bedside manner, Corvis."
-
"Oh I'm sorry." She says sarcastically. "I meant 'you're going to be alright, it was just a scratch." She says in a simperingly sweet voice, laced with sarcasm.
-
"Heh, im glad i didnt die back there before i got another chance to do this." he holds up his middle finger jokingly, and smiles. "Thanks Corvis" he said with genuine gratitude.
-
She shrugged it off. "We have to look out for one another, especially now that everything has gone to hell." She said, getting up. "But you'd better not strain it or there'll be some internal hemorrhaging." she warned before looking at Jarrek. "So what now?"
-
Jarrek sighed, thinking for a small while, before saying,"We must gain some form of backing. I loath to say it, but we are down one Lord and our combined fleets are a mere shadow of themselves. Without allies, we will be destroyed, assimilated into other gangs, or our best case scenario would be replenishing our forces over a long, long time."
-
She sighed. "Well who do you suggest? We cant ally with the Anrufe, we've already attacked Zarethian and Mechera shipping.." she said, looking at the floor and sitting in the spinny command chair.
-
Rychart sits up and leans on Corvis' chair. "New Dementia maybe?"
-
"I've no will to ally with one of the big empires either, and I'm sure they'll not be pleased with the prospect of allying with pirates such as us. But its quite possibly our only chance." He said, when Rychart made his suggestion. "Perhaps...But while they would certainly be a boon, we would need more than just their support. They've few ships to spare or reinforce us with. I've no wish to strain resources from one who'd agreed to ally with us...So I do not think JUST them. Their help, if they would spare it after we ask, would definitely be useful, however."
-
"If we're looking for large empires, there are four or so that I know of. The K Empire, Mechera, Ferrarians and the... The Zarethians." She said, letting the bitterness flow through her voice.
-
He smirks. "I am a Prince in their realm, remember."
-
Jarrek nodded, grinning. "Then you'll be the one to do most of the talking when we ask them, my friend. The Mechera are powerful, though they lack a major presence, while the Zarethians are the largest Empire around and also do have a large Fleet, but I don't know if they'll work with us due to...Relations between them and you, Corvis. I must admit, I know little of the K Empire or the Ferrarians."
-
"If I'm right, the Zarethians and the other groups are allied. If, by chance we convince one, we may be able to convince them all." She shook her head. "But its rather.. humiliating coming back like this."
-
"thats an understatement..." He says as he rubs his shoulder.
-
"But, if we want revenge I suppose its necessary... Unfortunately." She mutters bitterly
-
Rychart looks up at Corvis with a sudden shock. His eyes grew wide as he came to the current realization. "We left a man behind..." he said very silently.
"We left behind Erath and Aislin!!!!" he shouts. "No, no, no!" he hops up and starts to pace around in a tiight circle.
"I must have left them in the confusion. No, this cant be happening. Ive never left anyone behind!" he continues to shout. "We need to go back for them!"
-
Corvis stood up and pushed him back down. "In your state you cant afford to go back for them and for that matter, neither can we! We are virtually stranded here until further notice, do you understand that?!"
