Title: Moon Rabbit Sages (Open Race)
Post by: Queen Bright on January 27, 2012, 11:59:12 PM
NOT a rip of Sailor Moon. Though it may sound like it as it is a "Moon" rabbit, a bunny of the moon. It is actually based on the Japanese mythology as such and Sailor Moon its self was a derivative. Second although the Moon Rabbit Sages will be revealed to have created Scindalyzite Katana of Hikaru's and other such weapons in the past, this technique has been LOST to them, and the secrets only left in myth. The race may have survived, but the technique did not. So NO Hawkeye, this is not a way for you to use them as a tool for you to obtain that material or any other weapons they can shape.

------

Description:
Also known as the Jade Rabbit, the Moon Rabbit Sages are a sub-subrace of the Usagi Sages who are a subrace of Sages all together. Though they are merely a kind of Usagi Sage, the Moon Rabbit Sages have their quirks and talents that separate them apart from other Usagi Sages.

First of all, not all of the Moon Rabbit are white. As depicted in their alternate names, the Moon Rabbit come in mostly Jade Green, Gold, or Pearl White.   This can range from their fur to their eyes, or even just the tips of the ears. Like most sages, the Moon Rabbit can pretty much control their apperance and age at will.

As in legend, rabbits have been depicted as many different personalities, so are the Usagi Sages. However, the Moon Rabbit Sages, unlike the rest of their Usagi Sage kind, have been known to be very very honorable. Loyal to any task they are asked of, the Moon Rabbit will go to all lengths to keep their word and fulfill such, just as long as it serves the Moral Good.

Not keen on evil, and very alert to sin, the Moon Rabbits have tried the best within their culture to avoid both the Moral and Natural evils that plague the rest of Existence. Preferring to hold true to staying Innocent, and if at times the situation calls for it, ignorance.

Along with this, the Moon Rabbit are known to be very cowardly, yet at the same time lucky. Though they may not like to go into situations that may get them killed, if they have been tasked with such, they will stay true to their word, and because of this, be blessed with the luck to finish what they set out to do. A small contradiction in how this race came about, some say the Moon Rabbit are the enlightened higher beings of the Usagi Sages. Though this could just be legend.

Unlike other Usagi Sages, the Moon Rabbit's are NOT tricksters, and are disgusted at the thought that they are related to such. As being a trickster is dishonorable and not keeping ones word.

A Moon Rabbit Sage will always keep their promises.

Like most Sages, the Moon Rabbit has taken Humanoid Sage Form (or as the Sages know it, "Perfect Form") and adapted to the appearance of society. In Sage Form, Moon Rabbits have either Jade or Gold eyes and normally sprout white or silver hair, ears, and tails. Though this is mostly pure bloods, and like all Sages, once again, they can control their appearance at will.

Culture and History:

As brought out in the personalities, Moon Rabbit Sages abhor evil. Though they aren't out to save the world and crusade against it like some races, they attempt to ignore it even exists and keep their children ignorant. Raising their children within the ways of Innocence and Moral Good, the Moon Rabbits hold virtue, values, and codes of morals to the highest standards of their people and take their beliefs with them to the grave.

Often living sheltered lives, The Moon Rabbit tend to keep their young away from the outside world until they are learned in their traditional ways and ready to face the evils of societies. In their values, The Moon Rabbit are traditionalists, holding their world views to the lives they've lived in the past.

Though this is the core of Moon Rabbit life, the Moon Rabbits themselves were once split into clans throughout their long life. These clans were known as The Sky, The Land, The Sea, and The Celestial. Each clan having different beliefs and arts within the Moon Rabbit culture.

These were not the only clans within the Moon Rabbit's culture. But it was what encompassed most of their society. People not within these clans were mostly untalented and seen as too normal to be of any importance. Anyone that was Anyone lived within at least one of these four clans.

Eventually other Sages came across the Moon Rabbit's, and though ignored most of their culture but The Land clan. Ones of Sky Clan were often taken against their will by other kingdoms and made to be slaves to craft them weapons, armor, and other such items they could use within their wars against other kingdoms. This is what started the downfall of the Moon Rabbit Sages.

It wasn't until they came across a material that they could craft into the the perfect of weapons, blades that held not one flaw, that they could eventually fight back. ...If not for the values they held. Due to their beliefs, they could not fight back against their enslavement, and so the Sky Clan left the rest of their Moon Rabbit kind and migrated to a mountainous region of the Sage Dimension that no other Sages lived. It was here that they lived, hiding from the rest of the Sages in order to keep this new weaponous material a secret....

That is until they met their fate at the hands of Hikaru Tyris in her search of information on how to dimensional travel. Sensing her to be evil, the Sky Clan refused to divulge anything they knew, and were destroyed because of it. The secrets of their craft dying with them, as well as the knowledge of how to shape the material which had came to be called Scindalyzite (a Moon Rabbit word) into weapons....

Only one weapon from the material survived, shaped in the form of a katana which was kept by the Celestial clan to preserve their history but was later stolen by a traveler who had been trading with the Sea Clan, the traveler being none other than Salus Kalypsis.

As for the Land, Sea, and Celestial Clans, they have survived to this day and kept the wiped out Sky Clan in their myths to warn the rest of their culture of ever thinking of 'crusading,' against evil directly.

Years later to now, they have eventually accepted society, though still revile evil, and unlike other Sages, have dabbled in the ways of technology, seeing it as a new art of craft and evolution of existence. All but The Land who stay more to tradition than The Sea and Celestial...

Reproduction:

They mate like Rabbits in their true form, and humans in their Sage form, enough said... They mate for life as that is the most 'innocent' and do not use sex as play, only keeping it to reproduction and NOTHING else. They do not mate until they have been joined for life in their rituals of what the rest of existence calls 'marriage.'

Magic:

Like the Phoenix Sages have the ability to mix any substance with fire and create their own... The Moon Rabbit have the innate ability to take any substance solidify it into any form. Whether this be weapons, armor, or even some form of building, does not matter. They can take an attack aimed at them and solidify it into something they can use. Though the larger the object they are trying to create and the more offensive the attack, the longer time it takes to take it into their power.

As said, Moon Rabbits are very lucky in their tasks, and because of this said to be blessed and enlightened. As such, they have the uncanny innate ability to cause bad luck to others. But only if you break a promise you have made with them. In other words. Always keep your word to a Moon Rabbit. Never break it. The Moon Rabbit has no control of this ability, it just happens. If they did, they would not use it, as it would be a type of 'evil.'

Very talented. Solids are not the only type of things Moon Rabbit can craft. Medicine being another. The Moon Rabbit are very attune to nature and the herbs around them and as such have a very well inborn talent of mixing potions, cooking, and creating medicinal concoctions. Because of this ability, they are also very well skilled in chemistry, but prefer not to use it as it can be used for evil.

Moon Rabbits have accepted and use technology, being talented at the ability to use their intelligence as well as crafting skill to further their knowledge in science and the art.

...I kinda wanna corrupt one of these guys with a Cursed object, but in all honesty I don't think I ever would. I actually really like them, and there's really nothing wrong with them(though if their childhood is as sheltered as I'm reading its sheltered, they'll really be naive as hell). Approved with extreme justice!

Thank you. Also as I forgot to put in the bio, they are called Moon Rabbit Sages on SP, because Usagi Sages will be split into Moon, Sun, Star, etc Rabbits. That's not what the mythology is, but it's how I'm gonna adapt it.

May not be staff, but I figured I'd chime in anyways, since it's positive.

These guys look really intriguing, certainly a far cry from most of what's on SP. While I highly doubt I'd be able to play one, I'm interested to see what people will do with them.
