A Zarethian Safehouse located in a pocket dimension, reinforced with various technological defenses and magical charms. It was the perfect place for the Zarethian Hand's Director to be hiding out at the moment. The Hand had safehouses like these all over. Of course, for the Assistant Director to visit the Director in one of these safehouses was hardly protocol. To bring visitors was worse.
And yet, with a smile on her face, here she was, in a front yard on what seemed to be an abandoned neighborhood, knocking on the door of the house.
-
A HIRU Agent opened the door. "Phoenix?" he asked. It was a common practice among the Hand. They would say a word, and the person wanting access, support, ect would have to say the correct counter-sign. This one in particular was "Fire."
-
"Fire," she responded sheepishly, saluting her boss, "Glad to see you're okay, Director."
-
The HRIU Agent let her through. Hermitage was sitting on a chair holding his head. "At Ease, Amy..." he tells her wearily. If one would look around, they could see that there were several HIRU Agents in the house, another squad across the street, and a force on backup. All not to protect the Director, per say, but rather the information that he possessed.
"What is it Admiral Jacobs?" Hermtiage asks.
-
"I'd like you to meet K2323 Tyris, and his companion, Chal," she replied, motioning for them to enter the house. They did, and bowed before Hermitage. K2323 was looking at him with a particular interest, as if he knew something about this man that even Hermitage himself did not know. Interesting... So this was the man that his father wanted. This was the man that K2323 needed.
"Director Hermitage," K2323 began, "I am K2323 Tyris of the Sage Three."
-
"I know who you are Mr. Tyris. What is it that you need?" he sits up.
-
"Do you think we could talk... Alone?" he proposed, looking around at the agents, "I am of no threat to you, Mr. Hermitage. Quite the contrary. I think I can help you."
-
"My Assistant Director stays." he waves his hand, and the HIRU Agents left the room.
-
"Right," K2323 said, taking a seat, "Let me begin with asking you... What do you know about the embodiments?"
Amy gasped at this question. The... embodiments? What could K2323 Tyris possibly want of Hermitage regarding embodiments, and why would the Anrufe attack over such a concept? It was absurd. Sure, she knew that the embodiments were supposedly incredibly strong beings which were actually various forces in the universe given flesh, but the idea that an embodiment would be... Real? She had a hard time digesting that.
-
He leaned forward. "I know that they are somewhat of an anomaly. They are magical beings that have control over a certain domain of existence. Creation, Destruction, Insanity, Space, Time, the list goes on. Why do you ask? I know you didnt have my lovely Assistant Director bring you here to simply discuss an odd topic with me."
-
"You've got the gist of it... Sir, there is a point to this. Do you remember, eight years ago, a number of dark beings arriving on Zarethian planets and causing a particular level of destruction?" K2323 replied.
-
"That i do, Mr. Tyris. I was on scene for most of them."
-
"Right, well... The attack, from what I understand, was not supposed to occur on any Zarethian planets, not at first. Until the Zarethians broke their agreement... Did the admiral ever tell you about a visit that Anarchy paid to Tefillin, before the negi attacked?" K2323 asked.
-
"Somewhat, Mann was very secretive"

"What the admiral may not have told you, is that a much older version of his granddaughter, claiming to be the embodiment of Anarchy, visited him on that day... I don't know if you are aware, but the embodiment of Anarchy was my grandfather. In the final battle with him, he told both me and my father something... He told us... 'I live on... Hermitage...' Do you know what he meant by that, Mr. Hermitage? Because I have been trying to figure it out for the last eight years, and it seems my father has as well. What do you and Admiral Vacon's granddaughter have to do with my grandfather?" K2323 spat.
-
"Im not sure Mr. Tyris. He may have identified me as his successor, but keep in mind that the word Hermitage means something as well."
-
"Yes, I must admit that to be true... There is no way to know if you are the successor of my grandfather or not, but the fact remains, I could use a man like you. My father wants you dead. I want to destroy the organization which my father and his friends have spent years to build, before it destroys everyone and everything I love. It seems to be that we have mutual goals, Mr. Hermitage," K2323 proposed.
Amy did not know what to think of all of this. Successors, the Admiral's granddaughter, the Anrufe? She saw Chal, and how he looked to not be confused at all, and saw how Hermitage was handling the situation. She had to be careful not to let her emotions show. That was basic to her training. She could not show weakness. She quickly regained her composure.
-
Hermitage nods... "Indeed we do... " he briefly notices Amy's confused look, but returns his attention back to the Sage infront of him. "I am assuming, of course, that the organization you want destroyed is none other than the Anrufe?"
EDIT: Yeah... i kinda fucked this one up. I meant to edit the last one.
-
"Only time will tell," K2323 replied, "A successor only becomes the embodiment they have been chosen to become when that successor is ready. For me, it took years. You may go your whole life unsure."
-
"Of course. What is it that you need me for?"
-
"I wanted to warn you," K2323 replied, "It's as simple as that."
-
"Mr. Tyris, as much as the Hand appreciates that, its a little too late to warn me when an attempt has already been made on my life." he leans back in his chair.
"We will take all of this into account with our next course of action. Is there anything else I can assist you with?"
-
"Stay safe," K2323 said, rising, his eyes glancing at Chal, and then at Amy. He could see Chal eyeing Amy, and smiled. Chal was his student, so it was only natural that he was eyeing the lady in the room. That horn dog. He sighed a big sigh of relief. It couldn't be avoided, anyway. He would need someone to coordinate with the Hand once K2323 got his operations under way.
"Chal," he said aloud, "Let's go."
And with that, they both vanished. As soon as they were gone, Amy quietly bowed before Hermitage. "Will that be all, sir?"
-
"Thank you, Mr. Tyris." He turns to Amy as K2 and Chal departed. "No, not quite Amy." He folded his hands. His face had a hint of concern.
-
"What can I do for you, director?" she replied, noting how serious he was.
-
"As you are currently aware, I am in a bit of a predicament. Although, im not suprised in the slightest, seeing as it comes with the territory, I am worried about your involvement in this situation." He stood up, and laid his hand on her shoulder. "I do not want anymore deaths from this. Zere doesnt know you, and I would like to keep it that way."
He brings his hand back down. "If something happens to me, you will take my place" he tries to lighten up a bit. "Oh, and Amy?" He tosses her a poker chip.
"Tell Aki that I have to miss poker night. Take my seat would you?" He smiles as the HIRU protection detail filed back into the room.
-
"Got it," Amy replied, smiling as she caught the poker chip before teleporting away.
