I couldn't help but notice some discussion on what a Templar can and can't do, alongside time being brought up more and more in the RP. Hopefully I will be clearing all of this up. Some things I will be reiterating from previous topics.
If you want to know what makes me the authority on Time here instead of Hik, a while back when I made Templars she gave me permission to flesh out the proper explanation on Time and Temporal Manipulation- Since then i've basically been your go to man for the power of Time.
Without further ado, I present....
Temporus Litari: The Handy Guide To Time, Templars and the Temporal Arts
(Disclaimer, I know nothing about Latin.)
Time itself
First thing first, I must establish here- Time encompasses EVERYTHING.
Time represents progression, not just the tick tock of a clock. If you can literally do anything in the universe you are a part of time. If Time is stopped, you are stopped because all of progression is done(This is with the exception of those who are currently manipulating it, more on that later).
Consider this analogy:
Think of Time as a flow of water and we are all floating down it. Different timelines are extra streams broken off from the main one and when time is manipulated the flow changes in various ways. Now, if we leave this water we cant go down the stream anymore and we cant progress since we need to water to do so.
Templars, Asura and Time Manipulation
Let's start with Time Manipulation. Going back to our stream analogy, those who can manipulate time can manipulate the ordering of the stream itself- They can move the stream back, keep it in place, shift around how people float through it, the works. Now there is infact a very serious pecking order here, going from highest to lowest. The low can be superseded by the high(Ie, Asura can undo a Templar's temporal work). The order is as follows:
Asura
Templars
Mages Manipulating Time(As a note, this often requires a ridiculous amount of energy on the mage's part. It can be very close to killing the mage.)
Natural Time Affecting Occurrences
Artificial Time Affecting Occurrences
Natural Time
There will be more added later, please feel free to ask any questions though and i'll throw them into a sexy FAQ
-
If someone manipulates the time flow of a smaller, branching stream, does it effect the entire river?
-
Yep. If an ant dies on Earth, the history thenceforth is changed, however the only change could in fact be that the ant is dead now.
-
If i remember anything from teh 1 year of Latin i took, "Temporus Litari" means something like "Time Book" or "Book of Time" depending on the context.

What a guess

If one Templar freezes time, will a second freeze time as well?
