Ebbaddon, Median, Lavas, Zones, and the Janu Drops out of FTL just outside the Maltruse system. The Carriers deployed their fleet of frigates, as the Gremory fire one round each of their Frigate FTL Slug cannons.
The Frigates formed a defensive formation around the Super capitals.
As per Wayword operation protocol, their magic signatures were masked, and their minds closed to any kind of interference.
Should the slugs hit, look no further than to other planets that sustain a direct hit from this weapon to know what would happen.
-
OOC:Wrong planet, Cap. This is just one of their current targets.
-
OOC: Gah. Can someone move this to Maltruse?
-
OOC:Mostly waited on moving it jus' to be sure if thats what ya wanted to do. Aaaaaand now then!
The slugs were fast, very fast. But the Locusts were constantly prepared for war. And even at the speed of those rounds, it would not hold up to the power of the Defending Fleet, numbering 7 Wasp-Class Capitals(four of which were the much stronger Royal Wasps), 6 Hornet Class Super-Capitals(also four of which were the stronger Royal variants), and their own Hornet Queen, the Lorcar's prized and revered Titan. The rounds would not make it even near Maltruse, stopped by the telekinetic force the fourteen ships constantly generated and fed one another, hardly even registering to the combined power of the Defending Fleet. These rounds were melted down in space with Pyrokinesis, before being brought together into a singular mass of molten metal, which they would use later. They were going to use their Psychic Scream, but they found they couldn't even find their enemy's mind in the first place at the time. No matter...It just meant a Telepathic assault wouldn't be used.
Meanwhile, at the edge of the Maltruse System, where the intruders were, thousands of Bee-Class Fighters, BumbleBee-Class Corvettes, Yellow-Jacket-Class Frigates all set upon the invading force, which was near the Maltruse Belt at the edge of their system. The entirety of this belt was inhabited by the Locusts, which lived in Hives carved into the asteroids. Because of this, they were extremely prepared for any assault, attacking them as soon as they neared the system. The Bee and Bumblebee variants attacked using bone cannons, launching bone at the enemies at high speed, but the Yellow-Jackets ripped apart and ate metal in order to fire it off in jagged shards. The shielding on these ships may have been fairly good, hell probably even great. But with the sheer assault, these shields would most probably give way fairly soon enough.
-
The invading fleet took a defense vector. Frigates not allowing approach to the Super Capitals, and the Nagants' cannon funnels not allowing approach to the frigates. This fleet was one of the stronger they had ever fought, however that did not deter them, for their MDD Field went up. The Ships began an assault of Zero-point phaser fire. On the attacking frigates.
The capitals Matter energy rejection Shield went down to 95%, sustaining no other damage. The Zunal Frigates Were using the standard Fire'n'Fold tactic that had prevent them from being hit by any attack. A couple Nagants were caught off guard and were lost, their cannon funnels put under command of another nagant instantly.
The MDD Field would destroy near instantly many of the energy Frigates if they entered close enough to fire on them. You see their numbers would work to their disadvantage, each enemy Frigate in the field expanding the fields range. Soon most of these thousands of frigate face the real threat of near instant routing.
-
The enemies deployed a field against the Lorcar, they could tell that much...Not necessarily what it did, but the particles/energy/matter/whatever making it up were not those which weakened the power of their Hive-Link. Because of this, the Lorcar could find them through the Mind's Eye. Could grip them with the power of the Mind. Could. . .Manipulate them. The fourteen ships in the Defending Fleet pooled their Psychic Power, and created barriers of Psychic force around the invading ships which the field itself could not move through, funneling it right back at the attacking ships. They did this to start with, given that fields usually spread quickly they had to prioritize containment before capture. Because of the barrier's nature, however, it had no affect on anything BUT the type of field created by the invaders, making its use rather...Limited. In addition, as their minds were focused in that area anyways, they manipulated the very radiation making up the odd laser munitions, bending it around back at the very ships which shot it out. The Locusts that were assaulting the ships had fell back with uncanny precision as soon as the field was detected in the first place, dodging it entirely before the Psychic barrier went up...It was almost as though they were communicating literally instantaneously somehow, without any form of transmission taking place. They waited while they looked to see what'd happen with the barrier tactic of the Lorcar Defense Fleet, but while they waited they sent forth weak-for a Lorcar, anyways-shockwaves of Psychic power, intending on still weakening the enemy ships as best they could.
-
The MMD did bend back. However, around Wayword's ships, the field would have holes, like Swiss cheese. This created a bubbled of the MDD field around the fleet of invaders. Any attacks hitting the field would completely disperse in a cloud of dust. You see, the MDD remained in main control of the Marid's spirit as man of their soldiers put effort in to maintain the bubble. The bubble then expanded as a couple Solders spirit burned out. Survival of the whole, however by attempted to "see" the field, a constructed spell put on there long ago activated.
A Snake of Holy Fire would hit each of the Locar int eh system, with a slight will of its own, it appeared to have no mind but moved with purpose. These numerous snakes of Holy Fire burned bright.
The barrier its self began to burn at different points, allowing some of the field out to affect some of the Locar. This strange new fire, seemed to be as if parts of the barrier itself was changing into a kind of fire. However, the caster of this spell had enchanted a protection of many curse and magic traps, should his creations, his children be in true danger, this was merely a constructed spell.
One thing did appear strange, for a moment a new magic signature would spike, no mind, or spirit to be detected, just one moment of a magical signature nothing else.
After this signature was felt for less than a second and was gone. A Sapling appeared on the Queen's surface.
-
The sapling was easily disposed of. As soon as it appeared on the Queen's surface, the exact part it touched on the queen, with a mile's radius in all directions, was actually broken off of her body and jettisoned, using a biochemical reaction to propel it away. Some of these chemicals would probably also attach to the plant itself, and as it was trying to grow in a Lorcar, would've been fast infected with the Lorcar Killer Cell virus, the chemicals themselves eating away at the tree while it grew extremely sick and would die via the Lorcar's virus. Using a biological method of warfare against the Lorcar. . .Not very smart.
The fire could burn away at the barrier, but it wasn't like the barrier was just set up and left alone. As it burned against the barrier, the Lorcar constantly replenished it, preventing even the smallest part of the field from leaving. They also subtly began tweaking the barrier, changing it ever-so-slightly once they noticed what was going on:It would continue to repel that very same field, but would begin being burnt up less and less. Dont misunderstand, the fire still burned the barrier as normal. . .But less and less would be actually burned AWAY. This would continue until the entire Barrier could be set on fire, but yet no damage being done by the flames themselves. Even as the flames were using it for fuel, soon none of it was used up...Things must burn into SOMETHING, after all, and the Lorcar were changing their field so that it would be burned into itself.
As soon as they found these 'fire-snakes' burning through space coming at them, a counter-wavelength to the Magic sustaining it was created with Psychic power. This counter would cancel out the magic sustaining the snakes, turning them back into harmless fire(which, in the void of space, would quickly cease existing). This was not AM, but instead like fighting heat with cold, or acidic with basic; they were creating a Psychic Force designed to do exactly the opposite of this magic creating the snakes of Holy Fire. A Psychic fore designed SPECIFICALLY to fight this attack, not by blocking it or by striking with greater power...But by neutralizing it.
The Lorcar put most of their Psychic power and concentration into defense, and aside from what mentioned above, did little differently than they'd already been doing.
-
Using biological methods to fight something that is merely the corporeal representation of weaponized creation... truly a mark of ignorance. You see the tree had grown into a forest by the time the flesh of the queen came off. The biological attacks did nothing, as the trees of this new grown forest looked pristine, nothing could be biologically done to what was never biological. The roots reattached to the queen as it attempted to grown further into it, The forest grew greatly as its seems to be unabated by the biological attacks.
The barrier my have block the MDD from pass it, however, tendrils of Holy Fire that burned away at the barrier, creating Barrier fire that began to block more then just the MDD, anything that cam into contact with it was both blocked and then burned. The field had always been burned into itself, the Locar caused a new kind of fire to exist, Holy Barrier Fire. Any attacks would have to pass this from both sides, then if the Locar passed that, the MDD would block the attack, then and if then they got past that, the Matter-Energy Rejection shields, and after those, the Capital level shields.
About half the snakes were neutralized, however, something amazing happened with the other half... Holy Psychic Fire is was burned as it come into comtact with the holy fire, instead of neutralize it, the force became part of the fire, absorbed into it. The New Snakes of Holy Psychic Fire Burned after half the frigates, and all the capitals and super capitals.

OOC:-_- Alright, you wanna play that game? Fiiiiine, then, we can play that game. I don't like to 'cause its not very fun, but fine. I don't mean any of this personally, if any of this post comes off as insulting then I'm sincerely sorry, and I don't mean any of it that way. But that whole 'Phoenix can burn aaaaannnnnnyyyyyything' thing? Really? I am sorry, but that's literally the cheapest and onethe of thethe most uncreative moves in the book, well right next to just saying,"Sorry, but my attack works anyways and oh I'm not gonna bother saying why".
Of course, since the tree wasn't growing at the speed of frikkin' light, it wouldn't reach forest size the time the Queen noticed. And its not like they had to TRY very hard to get the Queen's flesh off, I mean, its a biological reaction she is able to consciously control, no digging and tearing at the flesh necessary. So, of course, it was long gone by the time it was a tree, let alone a forest, and if it kept trying, it was as you said corporeal, soooo a psychic shove would be more than enough to keep it at bay, it never losing momentum as it'd just drift out of their system far, far away.
Alright...Congratulations on trapping the Marid? I mean its not like the Lorcar would've made the barrier bowl shaped with the convex side being the Lorcar and Convex being Marid...The intent was to prevent any of the field from getting out, so they'd have made it cover everywhere 360 degrees around, and you outright said nothing can get through from both sides, so...I don't think that the Lorcar would feel the need to bother with it anymore, threat contained, and its still filling with that MDD Field which is eventually force its way into the Madrid's 'bubbles' without anywhere else to go, destroying themselves by filling it with the field and overflowing it, so there's that too.
As for the snakes of Holy Psychic Fire...The Lorcar would just exert control over them, since they're made of...Y'know...Psychic force, and not even a great deal of it. This Psychic force would be pretty easy to control, seeing as the Lorcar were just a little adept at using, and by extension repurposing, Psychic power itself. Absorbing the psychic power, incorporating it into the snakes themselves, that just gave the Lorcar something they could feel with their mind, see through their Mind's Eye, and take hold in order to suit their needs. They wouldn't burn after the Lorcar Bioships at all, instead converted into their own control to use as they'd please.

The MDD field Remained as if a bubble inside the sphere of Holy Barrier Fire. The Wayword were unsure of what exactly happened, a few seemed to be praying, but to what or whom? Int his sphere nothing was going to destroy them, their own field remained as a bubble, only adding to the layer of protection.
So, with the data on the creatures who inhabited this system The Wayword ordered a retreat. Now how would they retreat from inside such a comprehensive shield? Simple, they would Fold. The Wayword Folded outside the system, and then entered FLT. Escaping their unsuccessful attack.
The tree shock like a bungee cord as they tried shoving its out of the system. Now, did it grow at the speed of light? No, however its was close enough, that yes by the time the queen ejected her skin/flesh, it was forest sized. A number of Roots had just latched on to the edge of the crater where her flesh was ejected, Many of them ripped out of her flesh when the psychic push hit the now near small moon sized mass of root, branch, and trunk. However, the number of roots that remained attached, grew thickened, and shock with the pushing force that continued against the Mass.
A number of saplings appeared around each root the remained dug. However, as the force continued against the mass, a root here and there would snap away and get absorbed into the mass.
A half of the remaining snakes of Holy Psychic fire dissipated, the fire component disappearing as the Locar gained control of them. However, the other quarter enveloped their frigate targets. Burning away at their flesh, should it hit would create Bio-Fire.
-
OOC: Three-day rule. However I will constrain it to the Wayword escaping, the tree actually having a few roots dug in and new samplings on teh edges, and I will RP out the contain Psychic force dissipating another "half" of the fire snakes, and killing the remaining "half" of frigates, but the fire dissipating before fully consuming them. I hope this is fair for you. Oh, and the Holy Barrier Fire Bubble will dissipate soon.
The Wayword escaped, the bubble of Holy Barrier Fire remained. The Bubbles seemed to shoot out a number of fire balls, of Holy Barrier Fire at the fleet of Locar near it.
The corded roots managed to get a tighter hold on the Queen, new saplings ringing the crater where the flesh was ejected. The Mass itself grew even larger, the mass seemed to have a life of its own as it rippled and swayed under the pushing force of the Locars psychic attack.
Another half of the Fire Snakes disappeared, unable to remain in the pressure of the psychic attack. However, the other half, burned at the frigates, and killing them, the Locar frigates that died seemed to have the fire attacking them disappear after their death, a little too late.
A number of them would disappear, gone to who knows where.

OOC:Hasn't been three days yet anyways...Your last post was two days ago, not three. I was gonna post today anyways, but either way... '>>

The Hornet Queen simply used Psychic power to force the roots and new saplings out of her, ignoring the more slight pieces of flesh also ripped out. For added measure, she pooled her Psychic power with the other Bioships, and literally compressed the roots of the tree into itself, crushing them and the other saplings into a ball at the base of the tree. As well, even as the tree 'bungied' back, she continued to push it. Eventually, she resorted to keeping it a certain distance away(accounting for its growth), and took hold of the mass of molten metal that had once been the Marie's ammo, and maneuvered it closer to them, before flinging it at the massive tree. Hopefully, it'd either burn the tree, or it'd distract the tree with something else to latch onto.
As for the killed Lorcar, as soon as their death was confirmed, the Assassin Caste broadcast a Psychic burst, focused on those exact Lorcar, and using the larger Bioships as signal enhancers. This Psychic Burst was essentially a killswitch, which once it was received by the Lorcar cells it was intended for, would cause them to produce a volatile compound to the exclusion of all else, until they would literally, messily explode. While they'd no idea the remains would be taken away, this was often used on dead Lorcar castes in order to ease reassimilation of the organic materials used to make them, took less time to break them down.

A couple hundred of the balls of Holy Barrier Fire that shot off from the bubble enveloped a Locar frigate each. As a Barrier, it had morphed to block not only the MDD but also Psychic energy. The bubble itself seem to be dissipating as more fire balls fire off of it. The Bubble would be gone rather soon, however, the fireballs the it shot off kept enveloping Frigate after frigate.
The Tree grew a strange tap root, that grew at a rate much faster than any other part of the tree, that kept digging into the queen. However, something strange happened before the mass of molten metal hit it. The Tree... just disappeared. Taking with anything attached.
-
The Queen kept the protruding limb at bay, using her own psychic power to forcibly twist its growth away from her every time it tried to get at her. It grew fast, but she was faster...Just barely, though. By that time it vanished away, her mind was growing weary, and she was sapping some of the mental strength from of other Bioships. But even as weary as she was...She'd held out. She kept Maltruse, and the Brood King, her love, safe. Even if it cost a tiny part of her body, it was just a shell, a fabrication given to her so that she might keep them safe. She would gladly suffer greater damage to it in the name of her King...Just as all Lorcar would.
Cut off from the Hive Mind, the various frigates seemed to just go crazy. They rammed the barrier as though it were a living thing, attacking it violently. It was as though they no longer had a mind...Almost as though they were cut off from their very soul. As they rammed it, their body would burn up, turn to ash, unless the barrier itself gave way and let them out.
-
From inside the Holy Barrier Fire The Frigate Locar would burn to death before turning completely to ash, and disappear. The Holy Fire barrier would suddenly disappear.
