Title: Not really gone
Post by: UnStellar on February 29, 2012, 11:41:55 PM
Hey. I just got a pretty big role in a play, and I want to focus on it and be good. I'm not leaving, and I'll still be posting, especially in Violet, but I'm going to be cut back some. Thanks for your understanding.

Yeah, I've got a play coming up too, so same here, might be kinda inactive, rehersals are draining. Also have music practices and the like on top of that, so y'know how it goes guys.

UnStellar, what kinda play are y'all doing this season?

It's a musical, of course. It's called the Lady Pirates of Captain Bree, and it's pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. Bree's pirates capture a ship, because most of it's crew bailed as soon as they saw the pirate ship, and instead of loot they were carrying an important British political figure and a prominent English writer (Me). So they take them captive, and hold em for ransom, and in the 30 days we wait for a response basically all the lady pirates fall in love with various members of the male crew. Typical musical, a little cheesy, always happy, with a thrilling tale of beating the odds and outwitting the British Navy!

As usual, I get the dick character who never gets the girl and tries to screw over the protagonists. By being the good guy, I'm the bad guy :P What's your play gonna be?

We're taking three short plays and rewriting the endings to merge them into one, somehow. One, Dinner with the Macguffins, is about a boy named James who, as the name suggests (paying homage to Alfred Hitchcock) ends up seeing past the fourth wall and into the audience when an audience member's cellphone rings (actually one of our cast disguised in the audience). Two agents from the government proceed to arrive and "contain" him. Very wacky play.

The other two are both rewrites of fairy tails. One, The Grimm Tales, is again, as the name would suggest, a rewrite of three brother Grimm tales where the women are protagonists who save themselves. The other is about Jack and Jill, and various variations of them where Jack and Jill are in Vaudeville, detectives, high school students, asian, etc.

Throughout the course of the production I'll have played an old, senile man who used to be a government agent, a male babysitter (who happens to be very creepy and suck at telling stories), an old lady, a gay guy, and a stuck up teenage girl.

And I instantly want to see it! Unfortunately I'm accross the country. Thanks a lot!

Anyway, play season's ending for my school. I don't think  any more audition's are coming up, but I got to be in two plays this year.
