Title: Study the Past and Live to the Future
Post by: Zero on March 01, 2012, 08:50:53 AM
When Ivan had died it had made Terrence shocked for a while?and unable to sleep. This had led to him beating up on the golems more and more at his base the Ancient Chronicles with just about every weapon in his arsenal.  True the death of his friend and mentor had upset him but Terrence knew in his heart Ivan would want him to move on. Still grieving Terrence would appear in a bubble that would protect him from all the problems with unassisted space travel. It contained atmosphere, heat and just about everything else one would need to survive in space. There had been rumors he had heard of a certain gem here that belonged to the Narrikians in the past. Perhaps if he found it, Terrence could begin his most daring project yet. So he sent out a pulse to anyone around who could sense it.

With permission granted, Terrence would teleport himself to the surface of the planet below and do an eagle eye technique. This would allow him to spot things faster than with his normal Narrikian eyes and using his speed he would try to get to wherever they had museums on the planet. That would be his first guess as to where the ruby could be.

There were 135 different museums on Fioa.

It just so happened that the first museum Terrence would come to would be the one that had the gem inside of it. The gem was a source of massive power and if Terrence got his hands on it he could use it to create his own apprentice and also something to mock the Templar Order with. Jay and Inari would soon have a son of sorts that would be a rival to them and try to obtain the powers of a Templar on his own. Of course Terrence would have to do a lot of research first, but he was certain this project would work.

The museum curator refused to hand over the Gem to Terrence on the grounds that it was one of their prime exhibits.

Terrence would groan. Clearly he needed to enact other measures and so he pulled out a check book. "How much would the Gem be worth to you?" Really Terrence would buy the gem if he had to, although obtaining it for free would work. "I can replace it with a duplicate look alike without the abilities it currently has. " Terrence had sensed a massive amount of energy that was inside of the Gem. With that kind of power he could create his way of getting back at Jay and Inari and Nek as well for what they had done to Ivan in no time at all. First however he would have to convince the curator to part with the gem.

"The market price is 400 billion universal credits" The curator responded boredly "I can cut you a deal for lower if you wish. The Kingdom has issued me the freedom to collect blood contract favours for them. The gem could be yours for a simple replica and a blood contract to the Fioan kingdom for one favour of their choosing."

Terrence considered this. The contract would have to be examined by him first and so he merely nodded. First, the Gem would disappear and appear in his pocket and then an identical one sans the abilities the Gem possessed would appear in the case instead. A scroll of parchment would appear and Terrence would hand it over to the Fioan. "Write the contract on this." The paper was a special kind of paper that would prevent there from being any loopholes or ways they could exploit the favor while he was busy. It would also prevent them from writing that he would die on it or anything of that nature.

A different parchment appeared "This is the standard one used. There is nothing in the contract to state that you have to explicitly die to complete any terms. The terms are that you are obligated by blood and spirit to commit to one favour given to you by the Fioan Kingdom. The King will find you when he needs his favour."

Terrence would examine the parchment provided and reach out with all his senses and check it over. What he would be checking for was any sort of fine print that was written too small to see. No way was he going to be tricked into any lose lose situation. But the Gem on the other hand did need to be his as it was Narrikian and he did not exactly want it to explode like it would unless he somehow stabilized it in a few hours. For now he encased the gem in a baseball size sphere of energy which would prevent it from exploding and keep all the energy it had inside it, including some of that of the Fioans inside of it as well. Pricking one finger, Terrence would prepare to sign. "Very well. Write the terms on it." The parchment he had summoned would vanish back to the Ancient Chronicles since he was growing stronger. The training given to him by Allen and Ivan had been appreciated. But he had continued to train even past that and it was his hope that one day he would be a master. A barrier would surround the finger he had pricked, so it would not let out the blood until it was time to sign.

The terms appeared upon the parchment, simply stating that the signed swore by blood to commit one favour at the whim of the Fioan Kingdom. Failure to appear upon a call to pay would cause Terrence's spirit to be majorly weakened and the Fioans would come after him.

Terrence would look at the terms and also add one of his own. If for any reason the Gem did not prove to be the genuine artifact the contract was null and void. And with that, he would sign the contract in blood. It did not hurt to be cautious after all like he was. The replica had been given and so now all Terrence had to do was get to work on his creation. But to do that he would need more power than even the Gem held. So he had a lot of training he would have to do. "It is signed now. I must be on my way. "  Terrence had work to do elsewhere. A lot of work if he were to get the Gem's power transferred into the creation he was working on after all in order to level the playing field between himself and the New Templar Order.  So with that, he would teleport. There would be no smoke, mirrors or fancy anything about his teleportation. Rather, he would just be there one moment and gone the next.

The contract disappeared into the Fioan databases, ready to be used at a later date.
