Here I am!
SP's self-proclaimed king of science and those big shiny gadgets that we all know and love.
This topic is for those who need some helping fleshing out ideas related to the pseudo-science we use in-game, and I'm willing to help anyone who needs it.
-
Please tell me you mean freshening instead of fleshing?
-
Actually, "fleshing out" is proper usage of the word Flesh out/fleshing/etc.
Verb, phrase
b.
To add details to or make more complete: She fleshed out her proposal considerably before presenting it to the committee for action.

-_-
-
Yes Logan, your ideas are to be fleshed!
-
No one, and I repeat no one has ANYTHING at all they want ANY help with? Hell; I'm bored enough to IMPROVE your technology for you.
-
Nope. Unless IC you have couple of drive cores laying around. The Academy needs them cause they want to study them, make them fast, then start building a fleet.
-
You can see what you can do with the Mueratos project if you'd like.
-
Really? I don't think the Academy itself has anything real good to offer. The stealth systems on the Destiny Hope which was offered to Chase was belonging to the ship and wouldn't be offered at every turn. So besides AIDS they really don't have too much of greatness to trade.

Never based your power generating capabilities of another empire's technology. It'll be easy to take down that way; I know if you're fleet used Magister derived generators I'd know where to hit, and how.

The what now?
-
They want to study the drive. Not take it. Sure that may be the case but I'm talking hyperdrive cores. Not normal ship control drives.
-
Eh; I don't use hyperdrive..but I honestly suggest another form of FTl travel.
-
Hyperdrive. FTL drives. At this point they are the same thing. Something the Academy doesn't have.
-
FTL technology isn't all that hard to come by, and should be technically considered universally accessible. Unless specifically stated otherwise.
-
Well I didn't want the Academy to start out with them so they could be able to actually trade with people.
-
It would be as simple as going to a decently populated world, and buying one. But without an FTL capable ship..how are you gonna get there?
-
I need technology ideas for Coran's Arms...along with his weapons.
-
Information about what that would be would be awesome.
This is invent HELP; not I invent everything for you and do all the work.
-
Well, his arms have to have some weaponry. I am stumped as to what though. I've given it a blade mode...thought of a wrist launching some sort of thin wire that could pierce someone straight through...but other than that not many ideas for his arms.
-
Too simple Hawkeye. If our empires are capable of intergalactic travel; then they're damn well more inventive then a blade popping out.
Cybernetic prosthetic with a built in mini anti-matter/matter reaction generator in each arm. That should provide enough power individually to get whatever you want done.
I was also thinking an neural-link between him and his robotic arms, and since they're robotic they'd allow for precise control over a technology that rebuilds itself according to the user's thoughts? Think of a rail-cannon and the arms produce one out of existing parts or portal technology. Get rid of it just as easy, and can make something like that. Go ham bro. Don't be a coward when it comes to genocide.

Thanks.
