Right, this is something I've been mulling over in my head for a long time and I am not sure whether or not I should go ahead with it. I thought I would ask here because I didn't want to put it as an App and then have it horribly shot down before my eyes. Anyway, on to the idea.
This is the idea for a pair of sister ships called Zenith and Nadir, sub titans that use a very specialised system. The look of the ships are simply two long pieces of metal either side connected by an orb that houses the power core, in front of the core and towards the front end of the ship is a large amount of focusing arrays for something I'll explain in a moment. The reactor is where my main problem lies, I was wondering if it was possible to capture or recreate a pulsar/quasar (I can't remember which one gives out energy) and then harness the energy given out to give it three different, modes, shall we say.
The first mode is that all the power from the core is redirected towards the engines, this gives the ships incredible speed and maneuverability but completely cancels out shielding and leaves them with only very basic weapons, I call this Lance Mode
The Second is that all power is diverted to shielding which drastically cuts down the speed and weapons of the ship but makes it nigh on unkillable. This mode is used to defend a fleet for whatever reason and attracts fire to stop the fleet from being hit, I call this Shield Mode
The third and final mode is that all power is diverted towards weaponry, this brings some very powerful lance batteries online but it also opens up the reactor core, causing the ship to give off energy which is put through the focusing arrays mounted in the centre, this coalesces all the energy into a single energy beam, capable of tearing most other ships apart. The problem is that the ship cannot move in this mode and has only minimum shielding, I call it Sword Mode.
The reason I would have two is so that one can defend and one can attack to make it much harder to defeat them, if used correctly the pair of them could take an entire fleet or two on their own, also, to clarify, the change from modes takes around five minutes or two posts, they stay in one mode however until they change over after the two posts.
I just want thoughts on this to see whether or not it would be worth it to put up an app for them, thanks for reading and I hope you like the idea ^^"

Moving a Quasar around would be retard difficult. They're usually the size of a couple BIIGG suns, and they're a black hole. You're thinking of a pulsar; which is a rotating Neutron star. They do give off energy in a form of a radio-wave beam if I remember correctly. But it's nothing to shake a stick at; you'd probably want to rethink the generator.
What about a mass fusion-generator? Pretty much a star.
