Hunger.
It was never satisfied, he always wanted more. The mere thought warm-blood-flesh torn from weak-failed-bodies was enough to make his enormous jaws salivate within the darkened confines of his rocky shelter. His six eyes flickered from darkened-sky-sight to heat-sense-sight to lightened-sky-time, each showing different aspects of his surroundings.
The darkened-sky-sight allowed him to see, in the otherwise pitch black of his container, a large sky-rock. It was almost like a cave, it was small to him, trapping him in one place.
The heat-senese-sight showed him the millions of tiny specs-of-prey-travel, flying all around his container.
Hunger.
He salivated at the thought of his last morsel and resisted the temptation to blow one of the specs-of-prey-travel out of the blackness-beyond. He had to wait for easier prey, he reminded himself as his container entered the crush-pull-of-planets and he cloaked his own body heat with his psychic powers.
----
In the atmosphere of the planet, an astroid that looked like any other began to fall ever closer, seemingly burning up as most do, bursting into several pieces which fell towards the lush jungles below.
-
The Vionix however were rather adept at bringing down meteors, the fact that they had finally finished up their space stations not a few days ago helped with that a lot. They normally had to rely on patrolling ships to target the asteroids and bring them down before they went into orbit but now they had the Aegis Stations, massive star fortresses that targeted anything that came a bit too close for comfort. The fact that there was sixteen of these stations around the planet meant that there was no blind spots and all asteroids were targeted.
So, when the container asteroid came close to the Aegis Stations, the Scorpion and Spider defense platforms locked onto it and unleashed tirades of missiles and lasers upon it, destroying it before it even got close to landing on the planet, inadvertently killing the creature inside of it unless it had another way to survive the thousands upon thousands of rockets and lasers that would rain down upon its head.
-
As he sensed the thousands of missiles, his muzzle formed a perverse, almost grin. He blinked his six eyes as one and teleported onto the planet. Such, relatively short-range teleportations were almost comically easy for beings of such power.
The asteroid was destroyed, leaving no trace of what might have lurked inside.
-
Aboard the Aegis station, the Vionix were happy with another job well done, they had destroyed the asteroid before it even got close to the planet, all in a days work. They were however completely unaware of the creature upon their planets albeit it would still have to go through the entire ground force upon Arcanis III, the most heavily guarded planet in the entire system. This would certainly not be easy for whatever it was that landed on the surface.
-
Satisfaction.
Soft wind rushed against his skin-shield and he could taste animals in the air. He looked around, blinking in turn with each pair of hypersensitive eyes. He was in a plain, a very large plain.
With a metallic snick, his eye-shields shut as he blinked. He would be easy prey in this so he melded his life-body with his surroundings, becoming effectively invisible to the naked eye.
Hunger.
And so protected, he sent out his mind-scan and began looking for nearest village of prey, which he promptly set out to find.
