Title: Question
Post by: @Pokemon Master Red on September 25, 2012, 04:41:47 PM
Out of curiosity, concerning the whole 'X/X until stuff happens' thing we do for charging or passing of time, I was wondering if we needed to actually say that in the post itself? I mean, if you say that, the other player is gonna jump to defcon 1(or 5 whichever it is) even if the only thing you said in the post proper is "So and so bought a spaceline ticket and waiting to board their shuttle, carryon luggage in their lap and the rest in the cargo bay of the ship". Now, sure, there's a few things that could happen with this, but if they post the x/x thingermawhozit chances are that security is immediately gonna arrest them. I understand posting that when the other player would be aware that somethin's going down, but what about in cases that they'd have no clue its not a normal run-of-the-mill day(well, ICly anyways)?

We could just treat abuse of the x/x warning as metagaming.

I use it more as a courtesy for the other player and assume they won't metagame with it. More for protection against accusations of godmoding and informing the other player that I charged the attack and didn't just suddenly unleash a massively powerful attack without gaining the proper energy needed to power it first. I don't always use the x/x thing, only sometimes, and it's certainly not required.
