Title: Delivery of Doom
Post by: Zero on October 01, 2012, 03:47:06 PM
Rather than bother reclaiming Providence due to the defenses woven into the planet that had been more than likely discovered and used against the Neo Narrikians there a crew of 5 Frigates disguised as slave ships of the Anrufe with illusion technology on board them were here. They were broadcasting the comm signature and IFF of the Anrufe Fleet which had been recently replicated.  Each of these ships had a bomb on board them cloaked via a wide range of means including the generator and barriers meant to throw off scanners along with the illusion tech of course. Discovering this attack was going to be hard as the Anrufe had never dealt with an attack like this before.  The idea was to crash the ships into the most heavily populated area on Providence and murder millions.  The people would then rise up that remained because it would look like the Anrufe had turned on them.

We must deliver urgent cargo to this planet.

This was the transmission on the Anrufe channels that was sent. These ships were derelicts...older Neo Narrikian Frigates. VE had been added to them so no pilots or life signs were on board the ships of course. It was going to be an easy take down.

Sure, the ships had Illusion Technology on them, but the technology the Anrufe used was not influenced by Illusion Technology. The Anrufe believed the ships to be Anrufe, but there was no hiding the fact that there were no life signs on board. Still, the Anrufe simply assumed Delta was the one piloting the ships.

However; why would Delta bother sending a transmission? Furthermore, why was the cargo being delivered here today of all days? This wouldn't influence the way the Anrufe acted, though they did observe these things as odd. A transmission was sent back:

Quote
Roger that. Please beam the packages onto the Orbital Space Station. Over.

The VE of the ships hesitated for a moment and scanned the ships. One part of the ship contained an altered Mad Walker that could use Pocket Dimensional Technology. This had been improved using the compatability technology that had been designed earlier. The Mad Walker had a several times worse than a nuke bomb inside of the chest that was able to be activated. The Mad Walker was beamed to one part of Providence, the capital. The bomb was set to go off in 3 seconds.  The VE then responded sending a message to the Anrufe asking them where they kept the armors as they had been ordered to pick some up for the DAIS that were human. Of course this was a heavily contrived lie...but still.

Where would you store your armor technology? AI Delta wants us to retrieve some for him.

The moment the Madwalker appeared in the capital, a barrier surrounded it to stop the blast. The Anrufe's computerized defenses were more than capable of detecting such explosives and defending against it in ample time. The barrier normally would have been completely overwhelmed by the blast, but it was coated in seals to absorb the blast when the barrier failed, and to contain any potential radiation.

From then, it wasn't hard to realize that these ships were not truly Anrufe -- or if they were, they were traitors. A Material Phase Shift Defense Weaponry started to charge up and aim for the first of the four ships. Raven fighters were scrambled from the ground and would soon arrive to take on the other three.

However when the gun fired at the first of the ship a NET Window opened up. Plan B of the attack simply was to remove the core of this planet from the equation. Thus the NET Window that had opened up led straight to the core of the planet. In short if the Anrufe continued their own attacks on each ship essentially they would be killing their own planet.  This was the second strike. In addition a frigate also headed through the NET Window in order to crash into the core of the planet and destroy it.

The ETD Module in the Orbital Station prevented the NET window from opening -- it relied on Zero Point Energy to work, and the ETD actually used the Zero Point Energy the NET had tried to use to power itself and to transfer some power to the station. The Phase Gun opened fire, and a wave of energy hurled from the planet towards the ship.

The Raven fighters quickly arrived in space and began to attack their enemy, dropping CutFiber Bombs on the shields of the other three ships.

One of the VE of the Frigate happened upon a new idea to use a particular attack against the enemies and so each VE activated the Hyper Space Generator. However they were not making any attempt at an escape unlike such an act was normally used for. Rather the Hyper Space was being used as a proverbial sword and the target of said sword was the core of the planet. In short if this worked it would be more than enough combined with all the other stuff headed towards the core of the planet.  Providence had not been the first and certainly was not going to be the last planet to fall to the Neo Narrikian Empire.  As the Cut Fiber bombs were dropped, portals intercepted them. The portals led to the core of the planet.  Another set of attacks membrane phase torpedoes were shot at the Raven Fighters.  One of the VE also tried to override one of the Raven Fighters in order to gain control of the fighter and turn the single one on the other Raven Fighters.

Considering hyperspace and NET worked in the same way, the Hyperspace windows would not be allowed to form either. An AP and AT field also rose around the planet, and an AM field rose around the four ships. It would not be as easy as they had hoped to target the Anrufe.

The portals would fail when the AP Field rose, and the CutFiber bombs impacted the enemy shields, causing massive damage. The Ravens continued unleashing more CutFiber bombs. Soon, they would be able to damage the enemy shields enough to cause them to fail. The Membrane Phase Torpedos were intercepted by Heat-Sinking Energy missiles released from the Orbital Space Station, though a few Raven fighters were shot down by the Torpedos, and many were shot down by the heat-sinking energy missiles as well, on accident of course. Those that were destroyed would, of course, impact into the enemy shields as well, and the CutFiber bombs within those would explode on impact, causing even more damage.

The VE would find over-riding the Raven fighter to be incredibly difficult seeing as these fighters were not networked.

The Phase Gun's wave, which the Narrikians had seemingly made no attempt to defend against, clashed into the targeted ship's shields, scrambling the atoms everywhere. It was only a matter of time before it took out not only the shield, but the entire ship.

(OOC: 1/5 posts until Phase Gun destroys the first ship.))

The ships in the area tried to maneuver closer to the planet of Providence but still remain out of the atmosphere of the planet.  Once a couple of them had gotten close enough and avoided the Ravens each of them dropped something.  The something was a sort of black hole in a bottle that had been engineered so as to be used. Each of the ships then Self Destructed likely doing some damage against the planet and also weakening the resolve of the people there. The VE also deleted themselves.

The "black hole in a bottles" were logically only able to be activated once the bottles were broken, or else the bottles would have been absorbed. The Phase Gun shot at the five bottles and easily destroyed them before the black holes could form, sending the atoms of the bottles -- and the inner-contents -- into random points in nearby space.

The exploding ships did destroy the Raven fighters, but seeing as they were not actually manned fighters, that did little to weaken the resolve of the Anrufe. Debris that could have potentially reached the planet was destroyed by the Phase Gun or contained by barriers. The only thing of note was that there was some minor damage to the Orbital Space Station, and the people on one side of the planet would, for a moment, experience a blinding light in the sky.

The MI5 Officer in charge at the station immediately began to search any DAIS and Anrufe Naval flight plans to check for deliveries. After a few minutes of searching, he had found nothing. As to not alert anything within the system, he had an organic messenger relay his findings back to the station commander.

"ALERT FROM: DAIS MI5- SHIPS HOSTILE. NO DAIS OR ANRUFE FLIGHT PLANS FOUND FOR APPROACHING SHIPS"

This message, however, had only reached the commander just now. "Sir!" the soldier ran up to him. "This was given to me by the MI5 Officer. Marked urgent." he handed the message to the commander.

"Thank you, officer," he replied, unfolding the paper and reading the clearly printed text. "Well, damn. I would have never guessed they were hostile. What about you, officer?"

He chuckled, setting the paper aside. "The question is, who were they. Reports indicate that the explosive they sent to the ground was contained within a Madwalker. If the ships weren't us... Who else could have access to Madwalker technology? CI. Pull up information on the Madwalker."

"Compiling data," a female voice replied throughout the command bridge on the station. A moment later, holographic data appeared at the commander's console. As he shifted through the data, things became very clear to him. The Madwalker had come into Anrufe possession from a raid on a Narrikian planet. So, could it be that these Madwalkers were Narrikian? Reports from Citadel indicated that the ones used there had been very different from the Anrufe's own as the Anrufe had modified the technology to fit their own needs.

"CI. Send this data to Ground Island, and to all DAIS units."

"Sending data," the CI voice replied.

The commander stood, looking around at his weary crew. "We've got our enemy. Now, we've just got to find them. I want everyone ready to trace any incoming FTL. The moment you detect something suspicious, trace it. We'll find out where they're attacking from if it's the last thing we do."
