Title: A new plotpoint
Post by: Beware Ye Who Enter Here on November 25, 2012, 10:32:57 PM
Character Name: Tàeolus
Age: As old as the embodiements.
Gender: Male
Race: Embodiement? He changes forms quite often.
Appearance: Like stated above, he changes forms often. http://images1.fanpop.com/images/photos/2400000/Misha-Collins-Castiel-supernatural-2455159-594-399.jpg is his favorite form
Alliance: Himself, for the most part. He's mainly nuetral.
Personality (one paragraph minimum): Tàeolus is a mischeivious figure. He is known throughout many different cultures and histories. In all of these different iterations, one thing remains the same. He's a trickster. He's a troll. He likes a good laugh, even if its at the expense of others and, if he's in the mood, especially when its at the expense of others. He's been known as Loki to the Norse on Earth and Gaizen to the ancient, pre-Aser Zarethians. He's not a bad person, and he's certainly not a good person. If he does anything, it is normally a flight of fancy - unless it fits into one of his many, many convoluted schemes. If he started a war, it was because he wanted to see who would win. If he helped an old lady across the street, it was so she would come home and find out that she was a greatgrandmother and wanted to see her reactions. He is a hedonist, and lives to experience things in life, despite knowing whats going to happen, what its going to feel like, etc. He's immortal so he might as well live it up. He likes watching as things happen, experimenting with different effects. He's a scientist at heart. He's also addicted to games of chance because he never really knows whats going to happen.
Inventory (Weapons, Equipment, Etc): He's got his clothes on his back and usually not much else.
Combat Level (Average of magic level and physical strength. If you don't know what to do here, don't fill it out and the staff will help you.): 4-5 at his height
- Magic  Level: 2 for anything other then Chronicles magic (which Hiro is making, its a magic where the user's power level is based on the knowledge of Chronicles magic) in which case he is a six, or if thats not allowed then a five. Anything to do with knowledge magic or powers, six I believe.
- Physical Strength: 2
Character's History (Minimum 3 Paragraphs): Tàeolus has been around for a very, very long time. He's been around since the embodiements were created and never once died. As you can imagine, he's had lots of free time. For the first few thousand millenia, he isolated himself to a lab of his own creating, making up bits of knowledge and recieving knowledge from the outside as it happened. In these times, he created sciences and spiced up his life with experiments intent on testing hypothesis after hypothesis. Eventually he got bored of being cooped up in his lab. Thats when he first went outside into the universe. He made himself a starship and flew out, exploring the vast universe just to look at the gloriousness of it. He flew around for a millenia, visiting every star system where it was safe for him to be, observing every pattern and nebula. He was at peace with himself. He never bothered to contact any of the other embodiements and he never even thought to contact the primitive races developing.
And then he found himself inexorably drawn to these primitives. He knew what they were, Human, Zarethian, Vionix, etc. He was well aware of their existance, their history and their possibilities but he was drawn to their... Life. They had companionship, friends, lovers and familiy. He realized that, deep down inside, he wanted that. He was lonely, for the first time in his long, long, long life. And so he began to drop in on these primitive species, live with them at times, at others he became a god-like figure and was worshipped. For a couple millenia he would find a particular race or planet interesting and he'd stay with them, following the rise and fall of empires, interacting with the people. People, he found, were much harder to predict outcomes for. They weren't logical. He liked them because they were interesting. But, eventually he grew tired of watching these races go through cycles of destruction and rebirth. He tired of the death of people he considered friends. So he left. He went back to his lab and formed his domain into something new, something changing. It was a permanent storage of knowledge. The extranet. Eventually most intelligent species found a subform of this domain and he connected them to tidbits of his library of knowledge. Now, he is currently a blogger and a forum owner. He is very interested in gathering opions, seeing what people think. For science, of course. And, though he won't admit it, company.
When he isn't being the very epitome of an internet troll, he tends to practice his art in real life, enacting enigmatic and complicated scenes that spaln years, centuries even. And gambling. Lots of gambling.RP Sample (Depending On Combat Level):
Extra Info! This character is the embodiement of knowledge. Thus being, he is omniscient. Now before you all slap down the "Nope!" stamp, hear me out. He is omniscient, he knows everything that has happened, everything that is happening at the current place in time and all possible futures. Emphasis on the possible. He can only guess, using variables. Its essentially a game of chance, with a certain percentage for each possiblity. He's not always right, mostly because people are illogical and don't always act within the realm of reason. Also, he is not omnipotent. He knows how to do everything, he knows all these ways to destroy the world and the universe... but he can't put most, or any of them into action, at least by himself. As well, hes not quite able to process all the data of multiple dimensions at the same time. He usually tunes in only to things that he concerns himself with, namely the SP, and things he's thinking about. Oh, and because he's omniscient I thought it would be a nice twist to have him aware that he's in an RP. And aware of other dimensions, etc.
If you all want how he can influence the plot, then I'll PM.

Sounds interesting.

But uhhh have you and Blade talked? Cause' Blade's character Blade (who has Exodus) is a descendant of Knowledge (like the Sage 3 are descendants of Chaos, and the twins descendants of Destruction, etc.)

No, I haven't had the pleasure as of yet. I was unaware. Though, considering the Tàeolus's character its not at all surprising that he'd have a few offspring. I don't suppose Blade's character being the descendent of Knowledge means he could stake a claim for the embodiement or impede my getting this approved would it?

I don't think so. I was just asking if you guys talked just to make sure you agreed on things or something.

Uhhh one question I'm curious about. Would he have access to the Records of Time with the omniscience? I mean, Time/Asura is omniscient too, with knowing everything before it even happens, because I mean it is freakin' Time. But if the Records of Time are all of time and thus the knowledge of events and such in figurative book form, then have that Knowledge would Knowledge have access to it? I dunno, the more closely related embodiments are confusing me.

I don't care if you do have access, just trying to figure out if he would or not.

I think it may make sense for him to have access. Not that he'd probably ever use it, though.

Interesting. I'll approve, but... I think perhaps the further back he goes, the less he should be able to remember. Things should be fuzzier the further back they go. Just an idea. Approved regardless, unless the other staff members don't feel comfortable with this.
