Title: Does this unit have a soul?

Okay, I don't know if this question has been asked or answered in the past and in all likelihood it has. However, considering I have a few characters that it pertains to....
Does a fully aware, sentient AI have a soul/spirit? If so, cool. If not, why not?

Fairly certain its been asked, just not on the forum proper. As far as the question itself, I know the Mechera have souls, but they used to be alive. I'd say it stands to reason that AI would have souls since in many ways they're a lot like extremely highly evolved programs, much like how sentientorganics organics are highly evolved organisms, sooooo yeah.

I'd say Delta's a pretty advanced AI, he'd prob'ly have a soul in my opinion. Plus I think you mentioned his consciousness being able to survive in electrons drifting through space, which is actually impossible for a otherwise pure-information-entity(AIs, after all, are actually more data and information than they are the electricity and electrons carrying that data).
