Title: The Story So Far
Post by: K2 on April 25, 2013, 01:57:03 PM
Season 0 (2006 - 2007): Thousands of years ago, ancient races were fighting for control of the universe in a great war. One ancient race, a group of faithful guardians known as Aralangs, built a defense system to keep intruders from other realms away. In Season 0, in the Earth year of 932 AD, this defense system was broken as sages, powerful magic users from another realm, came to our dimension. Three of these sages, siblings known as the Sage Three, began fighting a great war over who would control the universe.

Season 1 (2007): After over a thousand years of war among the Sage Three, the end of their era came about and their kingdoms fell. In their place, a great coalition of technology-wielding, non-magical races arose. This coalition, which came to be known as "The Alliance", quickly grew in power, while fighting foes such as religious extremists and rebels. Ten years after leaving the dimension, one of the Sage Three returned and tried to reorganize his kingdom to fight the technological Alliance, resulting in a war known as the "First Sage War". This season ends with the remaining forces of the Sage Three joining with The Alliance to fight a common foe, an enemy known as the Starclan.

Season 2 (2007 - 2008): With the Starclan nearly wiped out, the Alliance begins to expand. They find a new foe in a group of magic terrorists known as the Anrufe. As the Alliance fight the Anrufe in Season 2, a dark, ancient being -- the very embodiment of Destruction -- referred to only as "Him" -- begins to awaken from his slumber in the prison realm of Erebus. As "Him" awakens, a battle takes place, and "Him" is sealed into a humanoid form, that of a mere teenager. Without the memories of his past, "Him" -- or Koty, as he becomes known -- proves to be a valuable asset to an organization named Zharael, devoted to bringing down the Anrufe terrorists. Season 2 ends with the collapse of the Anrufe.

Season 3 (2008): In Season 3, the Twilight Empire, a faction once allied with the Alliance, re-emerges as one of the Alliance's greatest threats. Sponsored by remains of the Anrufe, the New Twilight Empire launches a war that shakes the foundations of the entire dimension. At the end of this season, the Twilight and their greatest enemy, a group known as the Remnants, merge to become the Nyx Federation, the Alliance's greatest enemy to date. This begins the Nyx War, one of the bloodiest wars ever known to man.

Season 4 (2010 - 2011): The story resumes in Season 4, ten years after the start of the Nyx War. The Alliance and Nyx both collapsed as a result of the war, and now, after years of bloody fighting, the universe is finally at peace once more. That is, until Hikaru Tyris of the Sage Three returns and gives a battle-cry to magic users everywhere. The Second Sage War begins as magical factions of all kinds battle the Aralangs, one of the largest technology factions in the dimension. The war results in a stale mate, but once more, magic begins to rise and, along with technology, becomes common place all over the dimension -- including the Anrufe, who once more return, reformed, and ready to begin their reign of terror once more.

More is uncovered about "Him"/Koty, the embodiment of Destruction, from Season 2. Other embodiments -- forces given sentient form -- become known. It is revealed that Koty, along with his brother, Eli, the embodiment of Creation, rule over all the embodiments together... And it is also revealed that there are those among the embodiments who would like to see Eli and Koty's order fall. Embodiments such as the embodiment of chaos seek to engage in war with the other embodiments, embroiling all of existence in turmoil as the forces of nature fight. The Embodiment Civil War begins as Anarchy leads rebels into battle against Koty and Eli.

In Season 4, many magical beings make a great trip to the afterlife -- not because they've died, but because they seek to participate in the Plexan Tournament, a great fighting tournament held by Radical, watchdog of "hell" itself. The prize to the victor of this tournament? Radical promises access to the great weapon known as Plex, an ancient and powerful secret... But the truth about Plex is soon revealed: Plex is not a mere weapon, but a sentient weapon created years ago by mortals to battle "Him" -- the embodiment of Destruction -- and other embodiments. And Plex can not be conquered, least of all by the likes of Radical.

Season 4 comes to an end when Anarchy and the rebel embodiments unlock Plex to be used against Koty and Eli and the other embodiments. The war that ensues is one that involves the entire universe... One which nobody can easily escape. In the end, Plex is defeated by a war hero named Jay Stryder who leads the final battle to destroy Plex. The Rebel Embodiments are defeated, and order is restored once more -- at the cost of Koty and Eli's lives.

Season 4.5 (Late 2011): Between Seasons 4 and 5 of the roleplay, following the conclusion of the Embodiment Civil War, a great peace conference is held on a space station named False Heaven. The peace conference is attacked by a dark being named Kurai. The destruction of False Heaven is followed soon after by a strand of terrorist attacks from an unknown party which affect many planets in the Milky Way Galaxy. Widespread war spreads over the next several years, with rioting breaking out on several planets as the dimension enters eight years of chaos and war.

Season 5 (2012 - Present) The current season of the roleplay began in January, eight years after Season 4's end. With the dimension embroiled in chaos and war, a series of strange events occur, including a mass blackout of technology and magic which lasts for several days. A war between the embodiment of Revenge and a faction known as the Zarethian Empire begins, with Revenge threatening the balance of the dimension. Much of Season 5 thus far has been... Unwritten. It is up to you, the roleplayer, to help decide what occurs from here.
