Title: Family-Emergency-Related-Hiatus
Post by: @Pokemon Master Red on May 05, 2013, 06:22:03 PM
So uhm, a Uncle of mine on my mom's side had a heart attack yesterday. Things are looking fairly good in some respects(apparently, he has regained consciousness and he remembers who everyone is/he still retains motor function, so its not looking like he has any real brain damage from it), but at the same time in order to get him to this point they had to perform enough chest compressions to break all his ribs and restart his heart multiple times. Im not actually going to technically be anywhere near him, if only because the hospital he's in is in Salt Lake City and I live in North Carolina, but we rushed my mom to the airport this morning after finding a plane ticket going out there(protip:Plane tickets for a trip across half the country at the last minute? They're expensive) so she could be with him and the rest of te family making their way over there for emotional support. I know I have posts to make and topics to continue, and I feel terrible about this especially since I normally deal with this kind of thing by distracting myself so I dont stress out/terrify myself thinking about it(and will probably still be distracting myself to stay relatively sane), but I honestly do not feel Im in the right mindset to do much in the way of Shattered, at least until we're certain that he's alright, that he's recovering, ect ect ect. So...Just formally saying, Im gonna be going on a hiatus for a bit of a while...Its up to the rest of the remaining staff or memberbase or however it'll be chosen if you want to have a replacement staffer for while Im away, or however you guys want do on that note, but...Yeah. Figured it might be a good idea to post this up.

Protip: any ticket to anything is much cheaper at least 6 mo.-1 yr. in advance. At the door/last minute tickets are always the most expensive.

Anywho, good to know your uncle's doing well after what happened. And you know... You should at least visit the man soon just to keep a little more in check with him. Good luck on whatever it is you'll be doig Hiro.
