Matry roared with triumph as his recently created VI controlled nanites attacked the Lorcar DNA, they acted just like a virus, but since they were created with more then just a protein coat they were far more effective. Their coating was an alloy of everyday iron lead, and and synthesized Nilgaitt. Which was it's own element. Which could easily be reproduced by the nanites reconstruction ability. The nanites would invade the Lorcar cells, use the resources against them and then burst the cell as millions more nanites were released. The fact that they were smaller then most known viruses was even better. Due to their superior coating and way of invasions this made both macrophages and antibodies both useless against them, meaning there was no immune response that an organic entity that could effectively counter them. And they worked fast, within a few hours of infection the entire Lorcar would have been changed into nanites. They were all terrain as well, space included. Even EMPs were pretty useless, they might stop them for a few hours, but that's it.
