Well I'd just like to be the first to say it's probably about time. Good luck.

Also let me just add that if you at any time require my services for any reason, then you know where to find me.

Calm down Mr. Defensive. The 'you' was directed at this forum as a whole, as I'm sure most people on it have plenty of time to be on the internet and muck about & such. And if you read one more sentence on you'd see that I was agreeing with you.

Also, completely unrelated, Hitoper, would you like to play chess sometime?

Also, being active EVERY day is an unrealistic expectation for anybody who has a life and is a productive member of society.

I think, as you said, due to the special nature of your member base, you shouldn't have a problem fulfilling this expectation. Well, the first part, anyway.

To be honest I think he is right, considering the size of the member base, staff shouldn't need to be active every day. The fact they might need to be active every day anyway is more of a testament to the poor attitude of the community than it is the requirement for staff members. In my opinion of course.

Oh goodness you guys are so silly.

You guys need a recruiting network, that's your problem. And no one wants to join a story 27 years in-the-making. Or at least no one I know of. Especially one that, for all its novelty & nostalgia, has so many plot holes I've often confused it for Swiss cheese. Members are great & administration is great and those two together are great & if you have those both that's just amazing.

But like still to get members you need to give them a reason to want to join.

What's that reason now?

Emily went blank. Suddenly, she was gone. She was no longer in the hospital room; not mentally, anyway. Her mind took her to a dimly lit bedroom. She felt a strange sense of familiarity but she couldn't put her finger on it. There were candles attached to the walls, burning faintly. She watched as their flames danced gently through the brisk Autumn air. She watched until she heard a sound, and focused her attention elsewhere. More specifically, the sound of a large wooden door being opened at the far end of the room. She peered into the darkness but could only see the outline of a female body, seemingly walking towards her. She called out to this person. "HEY!! Who are you? Where am I!?" No response. She was thinking about calling out again, but before she could, a man walked up next to her. Well, not a man, per-say. He was a teenager at most. But she knew who it was. "Oh my God..." Out of all the people she might have been expecting to see, he wasn't one of them. "Oh my God..." she said again. It was clear she was shocked. It took her a few seconds to speak again. "K2323! I can't believe it's you!" Tears were beginning to form in the corners of her eyes. She tried not to smile but she couldn't control herself. "I've missed you so much..." She reached her hand to put it on her shoulder, but she withdrew. "Emily?" K2323 asked, relatively surprised. He never turned to face her; he just kept looking down the dark hallway. "What are you doing here?" Emily tried to collect her thoughts as she heard the footsteps of the darkened figure at the end of the hallway move closer and closer. "I...I don't know. I was in the hospital and...and th-"

"I needed to talk to you." Emily heard her voice say. But she didn't say it. The sound came from the end of the hallway. For the first time Emily's eyes adjusted to the darkness and she could now see who was moving towards them. It was Emily Zzott, prim and primped up in a long red dress. And now she know what was going on. Everything was clear. She knew where she was. She knew what was about to happen. She walked between them and yelled out. "HEY!! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?" It didn't merit a response from either of them. "STOP!! Stop it right now!" Still nothing. Emily Zzott and K2323 were speaking as if Emily wasn't even there. She didn't follow the conversation but she didn't have to. She knew where this was going. Emily Zzott started walking closer to K2323. In a last ditched attempt, she tried to hold Emily Zzott back, when when they came in contact, Emily Zzott just walked through Emily, like thin air. Applying pressure to an intangible object caused Emily to stumble and fall forward. There was nothing she could do now. She knew what was going to happen and she couldn't bear to witness. She waited for it to be over. She just wanted this nightmare to be over. She waited and waited, until she heard Emily Zzott say something she didn't remember saying. It was one word, "Hey!" whispered, hissed. Like the way you might speak to someone in a class who is across the room. She was on her hands and knees, but turned her head around enough to see what was happening. Emily Zzott had her neck turned, and they were now staring each other in the eye. Emily tried to speak but couldn't. Emily Zzott just looked in her eyes. She gave acknowledgement of Emily's presence. Without a word, Emily Zzott gave her a sinister little wink. Then she turned back to face K2323. And then it happened. Emily turned away; she didn't want to look. She was almost reduced to tears again. And then it was over. Emily Zzott disappeared in a puff of black smoke, and a note fell from her hand. Just as Emily remembered.

But wait, there were two notes now. K2323 picked up one of them and began to read it. He didn't acknowledge the other one. Struggling to get to her feet, Emily walked over to the other note that had fallen on the floor. She bent over and touched it. It was there to be touched. Emily Zzott much have left it for her. She picked it up and unfolded it. In thick, messy black ink, a message was scrawled on it. Five simple words. You know what to do. She crumbled up the note and stuffed it away in her pocket. She saw K2323 struggling with his life before her eyes, but there was nothing she could do. So she just stood there. Stood there until her mind took her out of the bedroom on that miserable night, and back to the hospital where a nurse was lying on the ground, bleeding slowly from the neck. And a man had his arms wrapped around her. She didn't know why. Frantically, she pushed the man away from her, and stumbled back in doing so. "GET OFF OF ME!!" She yelled. She took out her wand and pointed it at the man. She didn't say anything, she just stood, stationary, breathing heavily. And suddenly, without any forewarning she shifted her attention to the nurse. "Necāre!!" A thick smoke flew from her wand like a missile. It was directed towards the nurse, but moments before it came in contact with her, she flicked her wand up. The smoke hit the bottom of the wall, and in seconds it started to corrode away. A hissing noise rose from the acid as it melted the wall. Emily's eyes were filling with tears again. Her arm was still extended, wand pointed outwards, when she opened her hand and let the wand fall to the ground. She used her hands to cover her eyes, and she had to close them in an effort to stop the tears, she was crying so much. She fell to her knees and bowed her head, eyes still covered by her hands. She trying to regain control of her breathe and after a few seconds, she managed to let a few words escape.

"Tell...me...everything..."

Emily's eyebrows lowered. Her teeth were bared. Beads of sweat were starting to roll from her hairline down to her cheeks. It was clear she was becoming aggravated. "NO!!" She yelled, breathing heavily through her teeth. "NO!!" Again, as if the man standing in front of her hadn't heard what she said the first time. "Don't you understand what is happening here!?" She pushed the edge of her wand up against the bottom of the nurse's neck. She pressed into the victim's skin until a faint stream of blood began to emerge. Some of it poured down her neck and onto her dress, and the rest rolled onto the edge of Emily's wand and dripped from her fingers. Without moving the wand, she lowered her neck and licked some of the blood off her hand. She didn't like it all too much; it was disgusting. But she didn't feel like this man was taking her seriously. And she needed him to. "I'm going to give you one more chance!"

"I want the truth. And I want it now." She wasn't yelling anymore, but there was still a clear tone of anger in her voice. "I KNOW I have the power here. YOU are the one who has to prove who you are!" She was tired of talking. Tired of making threats. She just wanted this whole thing to be over. But that didn't mean she wouldn't do what she needed to do. She didn't know what that would be at this point. She didn't want to kill anyone, especially an innocent nurse who had no role in this situation. A woman who, looking back, was probably trying to help her recover. But it didn't matter. Emily couldn't let her feelings and morals get in her way. She would do whatever she had to do, even if she didn't want to. That's a situation she found herself in often, and she knew how to deal with it. "Last chance. Tell me who you are. Prove it. Or she dies."

Emily's eyes were closed, and she heard someone enter the room. The person's footsteps stopped and she could tell the person that came in was well out of arms reach of the bed she was lying in. "Emily?" She heard the voice almost whisper. It was that same man that came to abduct her in the plains of the Outerverse. The man who claimed to be K2323. It looks like he succeeded. Emily didn't react to the voice. She just lay there, still as always. After a few second she her another pair of footsteps enter the room. These steps were more brisk as they entered, but slowed as the person began to reach her. Finally, the footsteps of the second person stopped, and the light penetrating her eyelids dimmed. The person must have been standing right next to her to be casting a shadow over her like that; the only lights came from the ceiling and they shone straight down. "It's okay, nurse," she heard the man say. "She's safe." A nurse? Safe? What kind of security system is this? Emily waited there for a few seconds, and she felt the presence who she assumed was the nurse bend over to inspect her. Well. If they don't know now they'll know soon enough. It's time.

Emily's eyes opened. She was dazed by the bright lights which had previously been crowded out by the nurse's shadow. After a second or two for her eyes to adjust, she found herself staring into the eyes of a female nurse, who loomed over her. There was no time for her to hesitate. She threw her left hand at the nurse's throat and retrieved her wand from the inside of her jacket pocket. She heard the muffled gasp come from the nurse's mouth, and before she had time to do anything else she spun the nurse around, so they were both facing the man in the corner of the room. She held the nurse's neck tightly and held the edge of the wand under the hostage's chin. "Safe? Hmm? You think I'm safe?!" Emily growled at the man. "How dare you. HOW DARE YOU compare yourself to K2323!" With every word she yelled, her left arms clenched tighter and tighter against the nurse's neck. "You forgot this!" Emily twisted her wand back in forth in her hand. "K2323 would never leave a hostile prisoner armed. But you did! And you'll pay for it! You hear me? YOU'LL PAY FOR IT!" She was yelled so vigorously that the veins in her left arms began to protrude from her skin. The nurse let out another high pitched gasp as Emily's arm closed tighter around her neck.

For the first time, she turned her head to address the nurse. "You see this, hmm?" Emily voiced squeaked; she went from speaking in an an angry rage to a seemingly innocent, playfully tone. She pushed her want lightly into the right cheek of the of the nurse and twisted it around. "This is my wand!" Emily was smiling now. It looked like she was enjoying this. "It is very sharp and very eager to hurt you!" She leaned in so closely to the nurse that she was pretty sure the nurse would feel Emily's voice shiver in her ear. "You know, I won't even need to use magic." Magic. She said it as if it was a dirty word. Almost, almost like she was reluctant to say it, and could only build up enough courage to say it to a form of a whisper. "Look at this." She removed the wand from her cheek and flashed it across the nurse's eyes. "It's sharp enough. I could just use it as a blade. I could slit your throat and you'd be dead in minutes. Seconds, even." With that, she returned to hold the wand under the nurse's chin and began to address the man again.

"Now look at me." She said, her voice returning to its angry, vengeful state. "You are going to answer every question I have for you. And then you're going to let me walk out the front door. That is, if you want your nurse here to live." She collected her breath, and for the first time since she was lying in the bed with her eyes closed, she tried to think about what she was doing. Oh God. Oh God. What am I doing? Who is this person? Why should I threaten her? She didn't do anything to me. Does she deserve to die for what someone else has done? But she didn't bother trying to answer these questions. She stored them in the back of her head and cleared her throat. "Starting with...Who are you!? And I want the truth!!"

Emily's eyes opened, and it took a few seconds for her vision to adjust to her current surroundings. She was lying on her back, looking up at the tiles of a white ceiling. She shot up, looking around frantically. There were curtains to both her sides. Standing tall next to her was what seemed to be a enhanced version of an IV machine, although it's been too long for her to be able to recognise anything; too many years had passed. With haste she felt her arms all around her body. No wires were implanted, or not at the time, anyway. She still had her overcoat on and she didn't see any reason to believe it was ever removed. The second thing she noticed as she searched her own body was her wand, tucked in the right inside pocket of her jacket. She picked it out. What is this doing here? They didn't strip me of this? She transferred it to her left hand pocket. I can't believe that. She wasn't as good at casting spells or the like with her left hand, and if she would need it, she knew that the time she'd take pulling it out with her left hand only to put it in her right would be too much to waste.

She took the time to look around again. She figured she was in a hospital; some kind of intensive care unit. Other than that, she couldn't reason anything else out of it. She certainly couldn't recognise where she was, but after so long, it's unlikely she'd be able to recognise anything from her past. One thing is for sure; she thought to herself. This isn't Starclan. There isn't enough nonsensical technology around. She tried to think about where she was, and why she was there. Well... She tried to reason with herself. I'm in the hospital. They could have put me in prison. Maybe I am not an enemy here. She closed her eyes and put her left hand over her face. Pick that out, Emily. That kind of thinking will get you nowhere. She fell back onto the bed she was lying on. No one is a friend now. I'm on my own. I have to escape.

Emily noticed the man disappear in front of her, but before she had any time to react, she felt some kind of unknown force; an invisible man, maybe, wrap around her. Her arms were pressed down to her sides; in her shock, she noticed she dropped the wand from her right hand to the floor. "LET GO OF ME!" She yelled. She turned back and forth, trying to break free. "LET ME GO!!" She yelled again. She squirmed around, and after much effort, she managed to escape the force's grasp, falling to the ground. She reached for her wand with her left hand, and scrambled to her feet in an attempt to run away. She noticed, however, as she attempted to run, that her legs were week. And, in an instant after rising to her feet, she found herself on her hands and knees again, clutching her wand in her scraped-up hands. Only then, when she was free, did she realise what the unknown voice had said. K2323? No. K2323 is dead. He can't be...No." She crawled to her ring that she'd thrown away and pressed it against her ear. Silence. She stuffed the ring in her coat pocket and turned around again. There was nothing, save for a tree standing in the middle of an otherwise flat plain of land.

She looked up at the sky. Nothing anywhere. "SHOW YOURSELF!!" She yelled; not necessarily wanting the unknown man to show up again. With desperation, she pointed her wand randomly around her. "You're not K2323!! He's..." She paused. Even if he was dead, she didn't want to say anything that would lead anyone to believe she knew anything more than she did. So, without another word, she started firing spells into the surrounding areas. "Ignis! Flamma! Fulgaralis!" She yelled and bolts of lighting flew from the tip of her wand. She watched them as they flew into the sky and disappeared from her view. Another flew off. Another. The last one struck the edge of the tree sitting in front of her, singing a large branch of it. She watched as the leaves burned, watching the smoke rise from the fire. She put her hand down on the ground. The branch of the tree broke off where it was struck, falling to the ground and continuing to burn. The cool embers glowed in her eyes. She sat there in a surreal, almost tranquil peace, as the fire burned the leaves from the branch into ash. As the last leaf burned from the branch, and as the last bit of smoke rose from the ashes, she placed her hand on her head. After a few heavily breathes, she fell back against the cold ground; and there she lay, unconscious and still.

Emily slowly looked up. She was still breathing uncontrollably, which was cut short but a short gasp when she saw a tall, middle-aged man standing in front of her. For a moment, she just sat there in a stunned silence. She wasn't expecting anyone to be here. She regained her composure and managed to scramble to her feet. She backtracked as she clumsily drew for her wand. Her breath was sharp and quick. On her third attempt of fumbling with her wand, she managed to pull it out and point it at the mysterious man who had appeared in front of her. She just stood there for a few seconds, trying not to blink, trying to regain her breath. She stared at the man. Staring, staring. There was an eerie silence. The man looked relatively familiar, but she couldn't trust anyone now. Finally; "WHO ARE YOU?" She screamed. Tears were still occasionally rolling down her face. This would normally be a time she would try to stay calm and collected. This time, she didn't even bother. "WHO ARE YOU?" she shrieked again. She waited for an answer. But before one would come, she continued further.

"I know who you are!" She took another step back. "You're from Starclan! You're here to kill me!" Another step. "You won't fool me! You can't! DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" Her voice was shaking as she yelled. Her arms with which she held her wand was trembling. "You'll never kill me, you hear?" A deep breath. "YOU CAN'T KILL ME. I'M EMILY ZZOTT!" She was mostly talking to herself now. She was hysterical. She took one more step back and waited.

Outerverse / Alone In The Woods

A flash of black smoke appeared, and through it, a ragged Emily Zzott stumbled through. She walked a few more steps before falling to her hands and knees, short on breath. Her wand untucked from her coat as she fell and skipped across the floor, what floor there was. She looked down at her arms, breathing heavily. Her coat and pants were fulls of nicks and cuts, battered and bruised from years of living in refuge, deep in the forests of surrounding areas. Her limbs were sore. There were black spots under her eyes. She hadn't slept soundly in months; years, even. She took another deep breath and crawled towards her wand, picking it up and coming to one knee. She took a time to look at it. It was chipped in some parts, and had a long scrape down one side. Hikaru told me this was indestructible. She took a deep breath. Nothing is. Not even me.

She tried once to climb back to her feet, but she was too weak. With a sigh, she sat back down. She rubbed her forehead with her left hand and felt a cool metal brush against her skin. She looked at her hand. My ring. Right. This is my only option. With a reluctant swipe, she covered the ring with her opposite hands thumb and index finger. Kai. She could hear the name pulsating in her head. Listen to me Kai. I need your help. She waited. No response. KAI. Listen. it's me, Emily. Do you remember me? No answer. That's ridiculous. He can't not hear me. If he was thinking, I would hear him. He can't not be thinking can he? She scoffed at the idea. Well if anyone is NOT thinking, it'd be him. She took her hand off the ring. She paused to think, and wrapped it with her fingers again. K2323. Listen to me. I need your help. Can you hear me? She heard a faint noise. Her eyes glimmered with hope. What's that? I can't hear you. Think clearer! She pressed the ring next to her ear, half-hoping it would have some effect. She continued to hear the noise, but couldn't determine it. She sat motionless, ring nearly impressed into her ear, listening. Finally, she could make out the noise. It was static; similar to the noise a malfunctioning television would make. Oh no. Oh God no. This isn't what I think it means. It can't be.

She sighed heavily, and covered her eyes with her hand. Only one person can help me now. On the brink of desperation, she clasped the ring again. She held it so tightly the outside of her hand began to turn white. Hikaru. My Master. Please. Help me. She waiting for a response. The seconds that passed seemed like years. Please... She thought inwardly. "Please Hikaru, please answer me!" She had started speaking out loud. She was nearing a point of desperation. Her tension was palpable. "ANSWER ME!!" She yelled. She forced her eyes shut, ring still grasped in her hand. And, just as she had with K2323, she began to hear a slight buzzing noise. No response. No...No... "NO!!" She screamed, clutching her knees desperately. After a while, she held her hands openly in front of her eyes. She say the ring, dull and worn from her many years of refuge. "STUPID RING!!" She threw it across the plains, and heard the faint clinking of the ring with the ground in the near distance. It must be broken. It has to be broken. They can't be...they can't be dead. When that word passed through her mind, she lost all control. She closed her eyes and pushed him fingers against her now shut eyelids. And there, out in the plains of the Outerverse, Emily sat, weeping silently, over the death of her former master and friend.

Character's History: Emily Zzott is a character with a rather expansive history. She began, so many years ago, as a student under the great Sage, Hikaru. She had always been a powerful, if rather unrefined magic user, and it wasn't until she sought out Hikaru to train under her as an apprentice that she really got into the art of magic and spells. She never liked it before; before she met Hikaru, it wasn't as much as a gift, as she might call it now. It was a curse. She remembers primary school. How could she forgot? All the kids calling her weird. A freak of nature. All because she was different. And she couldn't even control it. She shunned her magical power. She spent many a night lying in her bed, listening to her parents speak in the next bedroom over. "We just have to face it, dear. Our daughter is...different." That quote played in her mind over and over as a child. She didn't want to be different. She wanted to be like everyone else.

She was pulled from primary school at the age of 9. She lived her life in near solitude, and through that process she began to grow cold. She began to hate others for hating her. And she began to think...I'm not different. I'm not different. I'm just better. I'm not different. At the age of 13, she ran away from her home. She never saw her parents again. She wandered the world alone for years, barely surviving on her crude attempts at magic and spell-casting. It was at the age of 16 she ran into Hikaru, out in the forest. Emily had grown to shy away from human contact, and tried to avoid her, but Hikaru saw her for what she was. A "diamond in the rough", as it was called. Hikaru brought her back with her and with that, Emily road to witchcraft was on its way.

Several years past under Hikaru's training, but Emily didn't age. She was given a pendant by her master Hikaru that prevented her aging. Under her supervision, she learned much; more than she could ever hope to learn. However, she always was looking for a chance to showcase her ability; she begged Hikaru for something to do. After annoying her enough, Hikaru finally gave Emily something to do.
Told her it would be super easy, and wouldn't take much effort at all. Hikaru called it Project: Mexico; Emily never understood the name. Her mission was to go to someones house and seduce them. Hardly the activity a 16 year old witch should be pulling off, but Emily had nothing to do, and was not about to complain to her master. Right before she left, Hikaru stopped her. "Put some lipstick on first! I've got some right here." Emily put it on reluctantly and left to do what she had to do. Turns out, she ended up killing the man she was trying to seduce; all part of Hikaru's plan, she figured. Emily went back to her housing with Hikaru, but afterwards began to feel a sense of guilt with what she had done. She barely knew this guy...who was it? K2323 was his name? She barely knew him...and she killed him. In cold blood. She knew Master Hikaru must have had a reason for it, but she wouldn't accept responsibility for it.

Unfortunately, Emily was not well versed in the art of revival, and her spellbook contained nothing that would allow her to bring this fellow back to life. So, one night, she snuck into Hikaru's library and tore a page from one of Hikaru's spellbooks about revival, and snuck back to where K2323 body lied; cold, lifeless. After several attempts, she managed to bring him back to life, much to her joy. Regardless, she left before he could regain full consciousness, but something told her that he knew it was her that brought him back to life, and it was her that killed him. Shortly afterwards, Hikaru told Emily of a magical tournament that would occur. Emily was invited. When they arrived to the tournament, she was surprised, not the least by the appearance of someone who had an eerily similar appearance to Emily, and who went around telling everyone that they were sisters. Her name was Angela. Despite her surprise, Emily didn't really put much other thought in to it, and the tournament began.

She fought well in the tournament, which was a surprise to her. Before this, she never had any major battles with anyone outside of her training area, except the occasional practise fight with Hikaru when she was in the mood for it. The same could not be said for her master, however. Hikaru was killed during one of the fights, and was reborn as a child. She would be watched by K2323 for the rest of the tournament. Emily advanced to the semifinals, and was matched up against someone named Kai. Emily was ready and eager to fight, however, right before the battle got underway, Kai turned his back to Emily and attacked K2323 in the observation deck. Emily, stunned by what had happened, realised her master was there, albeit in child form, and rushed to defend her and K2323. When she arrived, K2323 had been killed by someone named Zere. He attacked Hikaru next, and Emily, realising she was in danger, took Hikaru with her and fled the scene.

Emily and Hikaru arrived in the Spirit Realm, looking for K2323. They found him, and he revealed an idea. He would use the chains of time which he, along with his brother Kai, had locked time itself with, to tie Zere to death. Zere would take K2323's place in death, allowing K2323 to return to the mortal plane. K2323 preformed the spell and put an end to Zere for the time being. Kai was disqualified from the tournament, though his seal was removed. Emily was declared the victor. The day was saved. (Written By K2323)

Time passed. Emily lived with her master Hikaru, in childlike form, protecting her from danger and trying to keep her safe. In the mean time, a new allegiance, The Starclan, had been formed. While Emily was taking care of Hikaru, The Starclan had become very advanced in both magic and technology. After a sage discovered their planet, quite a few people took notice of their existence. Their home planet, Planet Star, was even chosen as the location for a meeting between Emily and K2323, in which to discuss the future of her childlike master, Hikaru. Jeff Star, leader of the Starclan, came to the two during their meeting to investigate their arrivals. Emily, offended at the interruption, threw the leader into a wall with such strength that the man flew through the wall and caused a small crater in the earth. After the meeting, Emily, fearful of HIKARU's (not Regina's) life as well as her own, agreed with K2323 for him to take Hikaru while she fled. Since that day, Emily was in refuge, hiding from the Starclan; fearful that she would be hunted down and killed for her actions. She hasn't been heard from since.
