Another placement because I'm bored.

Quote
When the scream pierced Grubs' ears he flinched a little, he could tell that the person who the scream belonged to had a fear for his kind that ran deep. But he knew this was a common thing, his brethren had instilled a hatred and fear of the Super-Mutants in practically everyone in the Wastes. "Calm down Grubs, we're here to deactivate the nuke and get a bed for the night. It's not like we're going to make this our home. The only place I can think of that you'd get along fine in is the Underworld, but that place smells like rotting flesh and Jet. And no, I do not think it would be a good idea for you to try Jet, nor do I think it would have any effect.. But if it did.." Matry spoke as if he knew what Grubs was about to say, visibly shuddering at the thought of Grubs on Jet.

"You'd be like a speedy little killing machine." Matry added as they reached the gates, the guards looked like they were having a internal battle with their own instincts. "Don't worry, I tamed him myself. Put a little chip in his brain that makes him follow my every command, a dog would be less loyal then ol' Grubs here." Matry lied, hopefully they'd beleive him and just let him in. Sadly they were still wary of letting a mutant inside their precious city. "What in the hell is this?" A gruff voice asked as the gates opened. A man with a cowboy hat and sheriff's badge walked out. "I'm the Sheriff, and I want to know why there is a live Super-Mutant standing on the porch." The man asked as he held an assault rifle.

"His name is Grubs, he has a chip in his brain which allows for higher-thinking and morals. I should know, I created and implanted the chip myself. We're here to deactivate that bomb you have in the center of town, and maybe get some dinner and a room for the night. Oh and I got some things to ask Moira, been a while since I last seen her." Matry replied, the moment he told that he implanted a chip in a mutant's brain, and that he wanted to deactivate the bomb the Sheriff turned a little white.

"If he attacks anyone I'll shoot you both." Was his base answer, throwing a playful punch at Grubs shoulder they both headed inside. "We'll get started on that little firecracker! Might take a while though, pre-war tech is a hell of a lot more complicated the- Oh wait, this is just the basic Chinese model! I'll be done in a few minutes." Matry announced as he headed towards the center of town, ignoring most of the awe struck stares as Grubs followed him.

"Uuurgh. A puddle, obviously irradiated. Give me a boost Grubs, growing an extra toe isn't in my bucket list." Matry said as he climbed onto Grub's shoulders, before hoping onto the top of the nuke. Fiddling with a small panel before popping it off Matry looked right at home. "Throw me the scalpel, just gotta cut a few wires." Matry ordered, Grubs walked towards the nuke and into the puddle. The radiation had no affect on him as he handed Matry the scalpel. "Alright, cut, cut, don't cut. Screwdriver." Matry talked to himself, his head basically inside the nuke as he held his hand out, Grubs looking around in his pack only to find nothing.

"We don't have a screwdriver." Grubs replied, which had Matry pulled his head out of the nuke and look at him oddly. "You forgot it last time we set up the terminal didn't you?" Matry asked, which led to Grubs snort. "YOU forgot it." Grubs replied as he choked out a laugh.

"Will this work?" A female voice asked as a red head walked towards them, holding a tool kit. "Moira! A lifesaver!" Matry excitedly yelled out as Megaton's local scientist, shopkeeper, and writer handed them a tool kit. As Matry got back to work he was done in a few more minutes, ripping out what looked like the detonator of the device. "Done!" Matry exclaimed as he jumped off the nuclear bomb, handing Moira the detonator. "Can w-"

"Yes, keep the kit. You deactivating something like this with a scalpel is dangerous, you'll blow us all up next time." Moira scolded. Moira was like Matry's older sister, they had met in the Wastes when he was twelve and they spent two days have a debate over the best way to dig a well. Moira wanted to use a mini-nuke, and Matry said the best way was a drill. Moira's was faster, but would've created more of a crater then a well, Matry's would been slower, but actually of worked. Since then they meet every so often to tell each other of new advances, Matry was also helping Moira with a book she was writing. "Oh Grubs, mines." Matry asked, the mutant pulling out two frag mines and handing them to Moira.

"Minefield was a dodgy place, the fact that there was an old man with a sniper didn't help much. Not haunted though. Best way is to look for breaks in the pattern, that's most likely where the mine is. Once you know where it is, just clip a few wires and blam. Got yourself an explosive." Matry said off-handily with a smile on his face. Moira just smiled and nodded as she pulled out little notepad and wrote what he was saying down.

"My God you did it!" The Sheriff exclaimed as he walked up, he had been watching the entire time and was waiting for the kid to give up. "You should get rid of it as soon as possible, it still has a radioactive core and could end up polluting your water and killing a few people." Matry said as he looked at the puddle where the nuke was laying. "Good, good. You said you wanted a bed for the night, here have this." The Sheriff said as he handed Matry a piece of paper and a key. "It's the deed to that old house up there, Moira here can supply you with whatever you need in it." The Sheriff informed as he started to walk away. "Welcome to Megaton kid!"

"Huh.. That was unexpected." Matry murmured as he looked at the deed, turning to Moira. "Could I get some more equipment in there, consider it a favor for not letting you dig a well with a mini-nuke?" Matry asked, Moira smiled and shook her head. Heading back to her shop to get it all ready.

"Looks like we got a home Grubs, and finally an actual lab!" Matry exclaimed, Grubs began smiling and picked up the tool-kit Moira had left. "This is goOD!"

It's on Nod's Eden.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

Oh...Im not saying Nod's Eden's a bad site or anything, but I like the kinda RPs where you've got a entire forum dedicated to the RP in question, you know? I can never find one of those for Fallout...

:o Nod's Eden had an experimental forum-wide project, its currently abandoned but if that Fallout RP gets enough attention we'd give it a forum.

not that forum-wide, I meant the actual forum forum, as in a forum on the board.
