The SF in dozens dimensions linked together inter-dimensionally. They wanted to figure out what causes technology to fail in the Outerverse. They suggested that possibly, something from the outside is powering it.
They began a 3d inter-dimensional scan. What they have found was unexpected. They found huge amounts of energy going in and out of the Outerverse, going in and out of the dimensions they are in. They increased their search with a lot of other dimensions. The results are the same. The energy is going back and forth from the Outerverse to the dimensions. It's safe to say that it's the same for every dimension. For the Outerverse... it's like... a core of some sorts.
Excellent... now if only they can manipulate the energy... into Anti-magic Energy. Wait. If Hikaru's memory serves correct, will is only needed to turn the energy into AME.
