Staff-Member Metaplot
« on: July 23, 2012, 11:05:58 PM »
Seeing as how a large part of the current plot's arguments revolve around some of the Staff saying the members didn't contribute, while some members say the Staff never listens, Imma just gonna leave this topic here. This is NOT active during active events, lets focus on one thing at a time. The purpose of this topic is so that the memberbase has a venue to voice their own plot ideas, and the Staffbase have a venue to see these ideas. This way, we should be able to avoid the all-too common "Well, I dont see YOU guys giving us plot ideas", while ALSO avoiding plots that the majority of the memberbase has a finely-tuned hatred for. Conversely, if in fact nobody pays attention to this topic during a period of crisis(and in that case, please do call attention to this topic), THEN the Staff has grounds to tell the members "Should've made some ideas, then". Mind that the idea of this topic is not to give away every detail of the plot you have in mind, but instead a overview of it so others can argue for or against the idea. As well, if the plot doesn't go how you imagined it would due to other member's activity, accept this as a possibility.

Please do not specifically include someone else's race or empire or whatever without their permission beforehand. I dont think this needs to be said but I would like to be certain.

And I want not ONE staff member coming here and rebuking me about making this topic on the grounds of Plot Dev needing to be kept secret. Thats exactly the kind of thing which makes the general memberbase feel unwelcome in entering the main story or contributing plot ideas of their own.

Finally, if anyone has any questions concerning the Lore of Shattered Planes or plots coming before you joined or the existence of this topic, in regards to making sure your plot lacks holes or for things that might fit well into a plot of your own design, ask a Staff Member who you think might know before submitting it.

There, I do believe I am finished. If anyone has any questions or anything I've missed or forgotten to mention, please let me know.

Do you have what it takes to change your destiny, to defy FATE itself?
Let us test the limits of your abilities, and see if you have the WILL to do what no one else tries.

This is just one plot idea, Im bound to come up with some more in time.
Alright, the rough general, malleable idea is: An SOS of some kind is sent to the empires and offers great power for the ones to answer its call and free some entitiy. The empires/factions send their best people to go to the coordinates and rescue whatever the note said was there, up to the staff for that, and when they arrive, they get trapped by this entity who proves to be most malicious and powerful. It is trapped, however, and it sends these heroes (or villains) out several places in order to find extremely powerful magical artifacts that are the key to its release. Perhaps, if they dont do as it says, it has a spell that will kill them or something i dont know. When they bring the artifacts back, they have to try to stop the entitity fromg ettting free by using said artifacts to destroy it because it threatens the whole of the plane.
There is only so much pain that can be taken before the bonds and chains of sanity are forsaken
It is in these lonesome times that we reach towards the light sublime
And from that light we pull the resolution of our time
To begin the end and start anew
