The Sons of Plunder
« on: January 05, 2011, 09:17:17 PM »
Responsible for the coup that brought about the new Relorian Empire, the Sons of Plunder was created by Nisorin Lertis during his travels early on in his life. A highly idealistic group welding massively powerful magic and psionics with some of the universe's most advanced technologies, they have splintered from the Relorian Empire they helped to create and, for over fifteen years, run, so that they might finally bring existence to rights once more. Spurred by the War of Embodiments and the rapid awakening of an entity they believe to be a deceased god, they seek to create a new kind of magic to deal with the coming threats. They have deemed themselves the only ones willing to Judge the Embodiments for their crimes, and strive to defeat even Creation and Destruction.

Many of their planned actions will cause some empires to deem them a terrorist organization, including their aid in the retaliatory attack upon the Kalak field, which was answered by the Aralangs with such overwhelming force that it has driven the Sons to take a new target. Now motivated by vengeance for those whos' lives were stripped away from them so absurdly, the Aralangs have been deemed a perfect test subject for many of their new weapons, much of which incorporate Aralian scientific knowledge.

Led by the previous leaders of Reloria, they have begun utilizing a circle not cast in millenia. During the Caorrn Reloria's prime, it was a nigh-forbidden circle called the Forge of Arianos. In Relorian mythology, Arianos is the being that took the blank canvas of existence created by Leiorra, the goddess of creation, and shaped it into what existence has become. He created the Cores, the dimensional plane, the dimensions and the first sparks of life. Wielding the twin powers of creation and destruction, he is known as the Shaper. The Circle does much the same thing, absorbing various different energies and materials and borrowing his powers of Destruction to break it down into its absolute most basic parts. Then, by utilizing Arianos' power of Creation, borrowed in turn from Leiorra, it reacts to the Engraver's will to craft new concepts, objects and other things. It is theorized that the circle is what Arianos himself used to shape Existence, but there is no way to prove this theory, as it occurred before even the formation of Time.

They are, for the most part, a highly religious organization. Their main goal is the prevention of Arianos' reawakening, an event they believe to be beginning already. Their secondary goals are to Judge the Embodiments for ignoring their purpose, most notably Eli of Creation and Koty of Destruction, as well as doing away with artificial AM fields wherever they can, believing them to be an active insult to magic users and an attempt to destroy magic in its entirety. While they share their Relorian kin's intense dislike for technology, they realize that their goals can no longer be completed without it, due as well to AM fields. Like their kin, they are a very proud people, though less so of their technological advances.

They show no interest in colonizing worlds, solving the internal problems of other Empires, save emergency cases regarding Reloria, and would prefer to not have to step into wars on the behalf of others. The few times they have been asked regarding this, the answer is always the same. "We have more important things to worry about. Like the survival of existence as a whole." They have seen themselves that words will not cause the empires or embodiments to change their courses, and so they are resorting to more active, violent methods.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.
