The Long-Awaited Deal
« on: April 18, 2011, 03:42:04 PM »
Sirius (along with Keith and Denera) appeared on the surface of Duppin, among some hardened pudding. He glanced around, looking for someone who could help him.

A tall man, lithe with muscle, bald scalp covered in shifting tattoos, walks up to the three newcomers. "You must be the ones I was informed about, members of the pseudo-terrorist group known as the Anrufe, I presume?"
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

"We prefer to think of ourselves as an empire these days," Sirius informed the man, "I've come to make good on a promise I made with your people about opening diplomatic relations between our factions."

"Diplomacy, eh? Hmph, if this was a year ago, I'd probably be sick at the idea..." Keith muttered, before smoothing out his 'coat'(technically a actual part of him, but I digress). Denera looked at the man, intriuged by the shifting tatoos. Subconsciously, her shadow mimicked them, etching shifting designs onto the ground as well. "Who are you?" She asked, smiling friendily.

He looks to Denera, bowing politely as he looked the girl over. "My name is Archimand, currently the Emperor of Reloria. The Empress is presently away on a business contract of sorts, and so I will be the one to determine the possibilities of diplomatic ties between our Empires. Come, let us walk." He greets, turning to Sirius and Keith and bowing politely to them as well. "As you may have figured, I was not present during your previous talks. I was, however, informed of the basics of the talks, and of the attack your group made upon us shortly after the discussion. I trust a similar event will not occur with these talks, Mr. Sirius?"

Sirius bowed as well, walking alongside the Relorian. "You must excuse the actions which we took in those times," Sirius informed the leader, "We were.. En transistione.."

"Would I be safe in assuming you are past that transition then? We are not eager to be assaulted once more, sir, nor will I allow the same mercy shown before. If I were here at the time, we would have followed you right to your own homes." He replies, nodding as he looks to Keith. "You are the one Mrs. Lertis fought against in the Plex Tournament, are you not? The Chaos Shaper?"

Keith nodded, his body seeming to fade back into the armored form for a second before fading again into his current form(basically a humanoid being with a red coat, black pants, gray shirt, yadda yadda). "Very perceptive of you. What of it?"

"Intriguing that you would return here. Usually those who are defeated are bitter towards the victor. But no matter. What are your terms of alliance, Mr. Sirius, Mr. Chaos, and Miss?" He asks, taking a good look at each of them in turn. "Please bear in mind that we are a separate entity from the Sons of Plunder, and thus have no real power in regards to them."

"Yes, yes," Sirius affirmed. "We will provide military and technological aid to the Relorians, as well as diplomatic relationship and trade. This, of course, is just the bare surface of what this agreement would include. We have prepared an initial proposal.. But I must ask.. Why have you been so interested in our faction, sir?"

"There are many opinions floating around regarding the Anrufe. Most are negative, I would like to see for myself." He says, staring directly into Sirius' eyes for the first time. The tattoos shift, forming a Third Eye as he seems to stare right into Sirius' mind. "Why is it you seek us, as opposed to some of the more prolific empires?"

"There was one other time in our organization's history that we had an ally. That ally departed the dimension to places unknown about a year before the Relorian movement launched by the Sons Of Plunder from within the Starclan. They were a great and powerful people who we honestly respected. You remind us a lot of them..

"You asked why we seek your empire in particular to align ourselves with as we enter this brave new world of making a proper name for ourselves. Truthfully, it can not be anyone else that we choose to be our first ally in this new stage of our development. You understand this world in much the same way that we do. We see it not as a place for political gambles and war games, but as a beautiful place of faith and love and hope. The difference, up until now, has been how we have chosen to interpret this truth."

As the two talked, Sirius materialized two apples in his hand, offering one to his Relorian friend.

"This is a Sky Apple, grown in Sky Island. Tastes like a normal apple, I suppose, only a bit more fresher and natural. I offer this to you today, as first of all, a small token of our desire to become friends with your people, and secondly, for symbolic reasons. The Sky Apples only grow one season every seven years. They are currently in bloom. They symbolize new beginnings to our people."

He took a bite of his apple.

"Mister Emperor, we have chosen your people because you chose the right path. A path of peace and of appreciation for the world, not of violence and aggressiveness."

Archimand looks over the Apple, the tattoos shifting once again as he taps at the stem. "An interesting reason, certainly. However, given your previous, temperament, I do hope you understand my skepticism." He responds, looking back to Sirius. He turns to face Keith, the Third Eye once again forming on his forehead.

"Keith, born of Chaos yet possessing a clear mind, what is your take on this group?"

"Cant really say thus far. I'd joined, because as I recall Chaos, who I also met during the tournament, had led them at that time. But from what I can tell, Chaos isn't a part anymore for whatever reason, and Im fairly new." Keith said, shrugging. "Sorry I cant give you anything more helpful than that, but anything else wouldn't be the truth."

Sirius frowned.
"We've looked for Chaos for quite some time now.. But we don't know what happened to him," he explained.

"We hold no love for Chaos, I'm afraid. So Keith, you have no first impressions? What about you, Denera? Nothing at all yet?" He asks, an eyebrow raising in disbelief.

She shook her head with Keith. "First assignment, actually. We haven't really had a chance to get a major opinion about them yet."

"Mr. Emperor, why don't you come have dinner with us, if you're so curious? We will be gathering for a banquet sometime within a few days. We can send a formal invitation. It will give our cultures a chance to.. Mesh, as you might say," Sirius offered.

"My name is Archimand, Mr. Sirius, and I suppose that would be prudent. I'm afraid I cannot say either way until I know more about you and your empire's goals. So then, to the banquet?" He replies, turning back to face Sirius. "It has been a while since Reloria has been in a position for peaceful diplomacy, after all."

"Banquet?" Sirius asked, astonished. He listened intently to the emperor's words and nodded his head politely at them. "We hope that you will see in no time that our people are good."

"Of course. Unfortunately, I am afraid I must cut our chat off here. We have some, uninvited guests that I must attend to. Please excuse me, Mr. Sirius, Mr. Keith, Ms. Denera." Archimand says, bowing to the three of them and opening a large, ornate door into the ground beside them. "Please use this to exit, it will bring you just outsidee Duppin orbit."

"Thank you," Sirius said, bowing before the emperor, before leading the other two through the door, and then back to Ground Island.

OOC: Sorry, Red. Had to get us off this planet for the event.
