Let me first explain what, exactly, Plex is. Most of you understand the concept we use here of "Dimensions". In the RP, there are several different 'realms' or 'worlds' which we call dimensions. The game takes place, for the most part, in one dimension. There are a few places in Beyond outside the dimension.
The collective of dimensions is basically known as the dimensional plane. Imagine the dimensional plane as a sheet of paper with two sides to it. You can flip a sheet of paper over.. It has a front and a back. A positive and a negative. Two sides.
Most every dimension resides within the Positive Side. One or two exist in the negative side. But just what, you may ask, do we mean by positive and negative?
A dimension is sustained by energy which is known as Dimensional Energy. Dimensional Energy is, put basically, a mix between Creation energies and Destruction energies. Dimensional energy in positive dimensions tends to lean more towards creation, and energy on the negative side leans more towards destruction..
The dimensions rotate a core, sort of like a "sun". A core is basically sort of like a giant dimension which is literally connected to the dimensions which orbit it. The core for the Positive Side is the Outerverse. The core for the negative side is known as Plex.
The cores basically are giant recycle bins for Dimensional Energy. They recycle used dimensional energy from within dimensions, recycle it, and feed it back to the dimensions. As such, cores hold mass amounts of energy within them. They're incredibly powerful.. And well protected, usually.
But Plex isn't like the Outerverse. It's.. different.
Several thousands of years ago, a group of scientists known as the Dimensional Guardians were studying the dimensional cores. They were searching for a way to harness the power of the cores to create a weapon which could, if necessary, destroy the only threats they truly seemed to fear.. The embodiments.. The embodiment of Destruction especially.
They didn't just find a way to harness the power of Plex.. They embedded a spirit within it, basically making Plex 'alive'.. With a massive amount of Negative Dimensional Energy flowing within it.
Of course, the Dimensional Guardians were not stupid. They placed a lock upon the powers of Plex.. But that lock is breaking. And Plex will soon awaken.
For the last year, a war has been brewing among the embodiments. As Plex begins to awaken, many of the embodiments who are aligned with him have decided to challenge the order of things. They want to overthrow Creation and Destruction, who have always led the embodiments, and create a new order of things..
The rebel embodiments are growing stronger, just like Plex..
And soon, these planes shall truly be shattered.
