White Flag
« on: August 19, 2011, 03:19:11 AM »
Over a scarred and scorched battlefield came the Dove, white wings glistening in the cold sunlight as her robes waved in the wind, rushing by as she tore through it, flying at insane speeds. She was a very special Enforcer, faster then any other. Her role was simple, to communicate between Yin and Yang. She flew in between physical and spiritual, towards ethereal gates, and she stood before the Grand Revoker's throne.

He looked down on her, dressed in a black suit with an orange tie, an all black crown on his head. His throne was twelve steps high, with twenty-four orange Revokers on the steps. His seat was carved from completely dark wood, the cushion of softest cotton. Astel, the Bearer of Messages, pruned her feathers discreetly, waiting for his word. She had faced him on many occasions: he had ceased to intimidate her. She had once been scared of him, of coming into his place, but it was without reason. As the Bearer of Messages, she was granted immunity, safety. Not even the Grand Revoker himself would break that treaty.
"Speak, messenger." Said a tired Grand Revoker. Though a spiritual being, his orange eyes betrayed weariness, staring past a large nose on a relatively thin face. His gaze held steadfastly, without wavering, which used to worry Astel. But she had learned to hold her gaze in return. She had also learned how to speak in his courts, not with the long verse she was told to say, but simply. Yang did not like long messages.
"Yin asks but a simple question... Why did you start this?" Her gaze held strong, but she cocked her head, betraying her curiosity at the question. Yang, the Grand Revoker, tightened his grip on his throne arm.
"Astel, give your Master one answer. Tell my brother... That I wish to meet in person. He can name his terms about our meeting place... I just want to talk to his face. For once." He said, his voice full, but somewhat reserved, like the words came out of his mouth well he was still debating saying them. He took a deep breath and straightened his shoulders, standing by his decision.
The white dove, however, could not remain so collected. Her beak opened, but without words, only in shock. Her eyes searched his face desperately for signs that he did not mean the words... But found none.
"I mean this in all sincerity." Yang said, this time without any reservations.  Astel closed her beak, not finding the words. She only nodded, turning back to the gates as they opened by an unseen force, floating over the scorched battleground. She took to the air, moving even faster then before.

Her message was about to change history.
