Character's History: Balance's directive is simple; maintain reality, but just because his goal is simple. It doesn't mean it's actually simple to perform such a task. He is an entity created by the essence of Existence; the will behind the gears that turn and make this reality work. One of his main tasks is to oversee the Embodiments but not to interfere; they govern themselves but he makes sure they don't mess up too bad. In fact he's not even allowed to interfere directly in any matter. Even if his help would save trillions of lives; he wouldn't lift a damn finger to do anything. He's the Cleaner and the Mechanic, but these only allow him to repair the damage and to clean up the messes the citizens of Existence create. After the damage has been done of course.
Irrationalities, and contradictions are the messes that piss him off the most. Pure fuck-ups in the design of reality that he has to get up and clean, kill, or undo. Driven by the divine urge to Balance and maintain the world, but only by making sure that nothing goes too overboard, and this has to be done without doing too much. Otherwise the scale tips too far in the other direction, and then he has to perform some nasty deeds to get it to level out once more.
Balance hasn't made an appearance like this on the plane since before history was even being recorded, and that was a long time ago. Due to the death of Koty, and the upset of Balance on the planes he has been forced to reveal himself and start taking action. He's orders were given directly and they were made clear; find any contradiction and fix them. Get any remaining rebel Embodiments back in line, and finally, make sure a true successor to the mantle of Destruction is made clear.
