A New Sort Of Invitation - Lus

When the invitation appeared, Gen was the first to grab it from the air. After sticking out her tongue at Rev who looked annoyed that he was unable to get it first, she opened it to read.

"What's it say? What's it say?!" Rev jumped around Gen in an attempt to read around her as Gen continued to read the invitation.

"It says we're invited somewhere."

"Where?"

"The crowning of Princess Elizabeth Tyris. Something about ascension to the throne in the K Empire."

"Oh! A Coronation!" Relle who was still hanging about The City of Lus for lack of anywhere better to go, now spoke up from a nearby chair which seemed to be made from nothing but ones and zeroes yet still held its form. With nowhere to go and no new leads on her quest to find her father, Relle had opted to stay in the city, using the vast computer databases to try to find any clue of her father. So far, everything had led to dead ends and the Phoenix Sage had become sort of a big sister rolemodel to the two magic incarnate leaders of Lus.

This was one such time as the children only looked at her in confusion. "It means she's the next in line for the throne. The coronation being the ceremony for when she finally takes it. Basically, she's going to be the new leader of her empire." Relle held out her hand in request for the invitation, which Gen politely handed over. After skimming it, Relle merely nodded, "Usually they're grand ceremonies, sometimes large, and sometimes small. Some religious in nature befitting to the type of empire it is, and some not. My father used to talk about them from his days in the Phoenix Kingdom, the Sages had many coronations throughout the dimension. Or so he said." 

"So if we go, we'll learn more about empires?" Rev interrupted.

"And how to run them?" Gen added.

Relle blinked, "Well yeah.... But a coronation is for a Monarchy. You don't want a Monarchy do you?"

"Is there a difference?" Both Rev and Gen both questioned at the same time.

"Umm..." Relle looked confused for a moment. "I'm not sure..  My father never mentioned the other types. And I didn't pay much attention to them when I was on Earth..."

"Then let's go!" Gen exclaimed.

"Then we can learn more about empires!" Rev agreed.

Gen then added, "And maybe! Maybe we can get another ally! Like Mr.Addler!"

"Can we have more than one ally?" Rev question as Gen shrugged.

"I don't know. But we can try!"

"Well I guess it could be fun..." Relle looked confused at the kids sudden excitement and rambling on about allies, and learning. Why were they so transfixed on learning about empires? Was that what kids did these days? Instead of having fun? "Maybe you should check with your mother first though. You know, that lady that was around here somewhere.... AMI was it?"

"Oh!" AMI's voice echoed through the city. "A celebration?!" it echoed again as she appeared behind the guest. She was clad in her usual maid clothes, carrying a broom in her left hand and a duster in her right. She looked around the room and then at the guest.

"Who's it for?" she asks Rev and Gen.

By now Relle had handed Gen back the invitation which was quickly snatched up by Rev who began reading it before Gen could take it back. "A declaration h-here..ly... herely ?" Rev blinked for a minute before continuing, "Herely instated that you and your guests are invited to the ceremony of her majesty Princess Elizabeth Tyris ascension to the throne as queen blah blah blah of America, ruler of the K Empire. Blah blah blah, The ascension shall take place on the date of 25, June 2062 blah blah blah, in the capital, K city at the blah blah blah. You and your guests will be asked to check yourselves at the City Gates as a barrier prevnting your unathorized entry shall be present. Blah blah blah, Thank you for joining us druing this momentous occasion!" When he finally finished reading, Rev looked to the others. "It doesn't say!"

"Maybe it was meant for someone else!" Gen quickly suggested and then started to glance around, "Like someone in the city!"

"But that means we can't go!" Rev complained in response, dropping the invitation. "And then we don't get to learn about empires or coronations or monarchies or-"

"And we don't get any more allies!" Gen interrupted. "Maybe Mr.Addler will know who it's for?"

"Or maybe Mr.Addler can find a way for us to go!"

"We need Mr.Addler!"

"Yeah!"

At this point, Relle had no answer as she just sat back in wonder as the kids decided on things, argued, and agreed with one another on the invitation and things about "Mr.Addler," whoever he was. She could only wonder. Another person here perhaps? Picking up the fallen invitation, Relle skimmed it once more. "Umm, I think maybe it's addressed to whoever receives it."

"But that's silly. What if no one was here?"

"Yeah!" Gen agreed. "What if the wall received it? Or the ground?"

"But our walls can talk and read!"

"But not all walls can talk."

"How do you know?" Rev questioned,  Maybe they can!"

"I don't think they can. Mr.Addler jumped in surprise when our walls moved and talked and walked."

"Maybe they just scared Mr.Addler?"

"Maybe..."

Relle just shut up at this point, looking at the kids a bit puzzled as they went on and on in argument about talking walls, the invitation forgotten in their minds for now. She didn't quite know what to say at this point or how to join this conversation so she did the only thing she could think of and asked, "Who's Mr.Addler?"

"He's a really really really really really old guy!" Rev quickly answered.

"A Z-zar.... Zarthian?" Gen questioned, as Rev shrugged. "Yeah! He's a really old Zarthian guy!"

"And he's our ally! Archon, another AI from the city and a rolemodel told us we should go make Allies. So we went next door and found a girl who told us to find a guy who told us to find Mr.Addler. Then Mr.Addler took us to a whole group of REALLY old old guys and then we became allies!" Rev finished.

"And Mr.Addler said allies help each other!" Gen added, "So he can help us go!"
