Physical Appearance
Celestians are humanoid beings however with some main differences to Humans. Both genders range between five feet and six feet tall. Replacing hairs are feathers which grow across the head and down the back of the neck. This continues down their spines, stopping at their tailbone. The most prominent of all features is the wings that grow from their shoulder blades. At infancy a Celestian?s wings are very small, unable to lift them from the ground however, once past puberty, their wings are grown and hence can make short jumps. To make short jumps, a Celestian's has little muscle making them somewhat lighter but also considerably weaker.
Abilities/Traits
Although they may have weaker bodies, to be able to control four limbs and two wings requires incredible dexterity. As such, a Celestian's brain is highly advanced, able to react quicker and think faster than most races.
Due to their wings, Celestians have the ability to make short leaps however, do not have the ability to fly (unless, of course in low gravity). Their jumps range between eight meters and ten meters without exerting their wings.
Another side effect of their weaker bodies is their increased weakness to poison and susceptibility to disease.
Lifespan
Nature has been somewhat unkind to the Celestians as many of their organs are small including their hearts which makes them very weak. This also lowers their lifespan to about fifty years. Recent advances in their technology have allowed some to surpass sixty years although often it is only by a mere one or two years.
Military "Rangers"
The military of the Celestians strongly resembles that of a Human military however there is an extra rank. Outside of the military, another rank exists. They are the Rangers whom practice their trade on a planet claimed by Celestians who no longer have the same care for their great floating planets. It is true that an entire planet was abandoned by Celestians who had lost hope for their world and instead turned to this place. Here they decided to train their bodies becoming stronger and faster while retaining their extraordinary brainpower. This extra body mass does affect their jump however, often making it between six meters and eight meters.
History
When first taking to the stars, the Celestians built great star-faring ships that also acted as their homes. Three such ships remain, each one spanning the size of Earth and left to wander the cosmos aimlessly for eternity. To protect these vessels, the Celestians have rarely partaken in warfare unless severely provoked.
The destructive force of these weapons was only once demonstrated and since then the Celestians have vowed that they would rather hide these weapons rather than bring another species to the brink of extinction. As such, they have been taken and locked in a vault in the other dimension, one that they hoped never to see again.
Their kind was thinly spread across the dimension beforehand and now that they were boarding their great ships they were spread thinner than before (a seemingly impossible task).
